As nice as it is to colorize these photos, I would have liked to see the originals before the work done on them. It would have made it all the more believable ...

The photographs are great, but ruined by colorising. The whole point of those pictures is that they're old. Leave them as they are. What next? Shall we repaint medieval cathedrals? Oh, and: how do we know the colours are the right ones?
