I am SO grateful for you and Ben having and sharing this conversation. Like you both said, these topics are not talked about enough. I am most deeply impacted by your desire and capacity to be so real and open. It’s very fun and helpful to hear the authentic experience of your relationship-all the light and dark parts-and even some of the specific examples. It gives me (and I’m sure many others) permission and a huge breath of relief to have and be in an “imperfect” relationship myself, knowing that it’s ok to be working on and working toward even greater/deeper love, growth, acceptance, truth, peace, etc throughout time and different phases. I adore you two. Thank you for everything you are & do. ♥️

Amazing vulnerability in this conversation. Deep bow of respect to you both! I fall in that 20% (our kid is a teenager now, so our divorce was 10+ years ago). I do think it would help if the different challenges on each parent were more openly discussed like this. Thanks for this open and rich sharing!

Thank you so much this topic is so needed for first time parents. In my case we ended up separating & looking back the level of resentment that was build up, the disconnection & tiressness among so many others. Working on inner self before would have benefit me & my loved ones.
Would have loved that we both had compassion for each other & patience thru our process of becoming new parents.💚

So courageous. Thank you for sharing and being real. We 100% need more education and discussion around relational/emotional studies... not just in the intellectual domain.

Great to hear this episode, so honest. ♥Some recommendations from myself (single parent of a 16 yr old, divorced when son was 9 after 17 year marriage): Schedule in regular date nights/ weekends, hire a nanny/ helper, get babysitters. Share the nurturing load so you don't feel burnt out- men can be very nurturing and comforting to babies too. Remember this later too- all the caretaking and nurturing that typically women do can be done by men as well. This is unseen, unpaid labour that you don't want resentment to build up over (particularly if traditional gender roles are adopted).
Do prioritize connection with your husband, have sex even if you don’t feel like it - he needs your attention too.
Work to do: figure out your parenting styles. This can be a MAJOR source of conflict between parents if you really differ from each other. The differing parenting styles mostly comes from family of origin.
Yes, you're a super team with a strong shared vision...aka ,a power couple! Take time to RELAX and DO NOTHING with each other ...it will help soothe your frayed parenting nerves and keep you two bonded. ♥

Wow, just finished both this and the second episode ... and the level of honesty and authenticity was the biggest breath of fresh air. Thank you for your vulnerability and your willingness to share some of the light and dark of this season you are experiencing together. My boyfriend and I know bringing a child into this world is something we want a few years down the line, though we are working to build a solid foundation together first (we bought your relationship course and appreciate the work you two do more generally)! ... this episode will be an exhale for many. love

Such a genuine conversation, a child is raised by village, in india a newborn parents are supported by their families, new born parents need more support

Yes, the allocation of money to objects and status symbols, instead of self development and growth is shocking!

In the spirit of honesty, she had to record that intro like 10 times 😂. We had technical issues. So by the time we got that last clip, she was not into it. LoL

@@RisingWoman Before reading the comments, I actually thought to myself 'she looks so beautiful and is just such a beautiful soul, inside & out' 💖 Thank you so much for this talk, definitely relatable as a mom of a 2yr old and I'm so glad your resources found me during this challenging time in relationship. It's wonderful you guys can now also share your experiences as parents, as I'm sure it will help so many more couples 🥰🙏🏼 Much love & respect for both of you and continued best wishes for your beautiful family 💕
