This song is phenomenal, the black metalish notes and the thrashy riff afterwards, I love the versatilty of the band. The music and the atmosphere of the song fit perfectly.

Rarely heard such an intense track written with such agression by SX ! They must have been mad at something, or someone, while writing this. First chance I get I'm banging my head to this beast live. Damn, I was gonna go to sleep but that's not going to happen for a while now ! Hail Symphony X for simply being badass \m/

***** I do listen to Fleshgod, and all of their albums are great, from the more brutal tech Mafia, to more Symphonic utilized Labyrinth. Job for a Cowboys newest album is great too.
For me, Cattle, Aborted, Cryptopsy, Behemoth are heavier than those.
But I am not sure what you are getting at. People have different opinions and tastes in metal, and listening to heavier metal than other people, doesn't make one superior. Good music is what matters, and if that music then happens to be heavy too, then great.

I love that they can produce new material, that sounds different, yet is still SX. As they are all masters on their instruments, the presentation rarely seems gratuitous. I ordered this one... hopefully here tomorrow (gotta be on disk... yep, I'm old).

While the prog has been scaled back a bit, this is still a fantastic album. I do not have a personal favorite Symphony X album because they are so good in all they do. All albums have merit.
