"A Fool's Paradise" from their album V: The New Mythology Suite is great. It incorporates some excerpts from Bach's Harpsichord Concerto in D Minor in the neoclassical section. Basically all of their stuff from The Odyssey and before have more neoclassical influence. Paradise Lost onward not so much, but still great music. Michael Romeo's solo stuff is also really good, with his most recent album War of the Worlds. "Djinn" is probably my favorite track from there. Russell Allen is my favorite male vocalist. Symphony X is criminally underexposed on YT, thank you for doing one of their tunes! Most of their best stuff is audio only because they've been around a long time!
Their "symphonic" comes from keyboards imitating symphonies, mainly, but that doesn't make the songs any less. Some suggestions for Symphony X:
The Odyssey (Note: this song is 24m long, and there's no video really, only album art, but I highly recommend it fwiw) - czcams.com/video/MaN3pwBsRf8/video.html

They have two epics, The Divine Wings of Tragedy and The Odyssey. I think you would appreciate either, they're like musical journeys. I was lucky enough to see Symphony X and Dream Theater both live within the span of three weeks of one another (2018). Mike Romeo is a very good guitarist and writes the absolute best riffs, but his live performance was not as polished as he is in the studio. He definitely flubbed a few of the more technical passages during the set.
I don't think John Petrucci missed a single note through the whole set with DT. That man must practice relentlessly. It was amazing to witness. The thing is, even though the DT show was more technically perfect from a musical standpoint, I had a lot more fun at the Symphony X concert. Their stage presence conveyed more passion and felt more true to the music.

Man, Nevermore puts the pedal down and never lets up! Just jaw dropping guitar work by Michael Romeo. But, if you want to explore a more slowed down introspective Symphony X, take a listen to "Paradise Lost". More open and soulful feeing, where the lead vocalist really shines with his talent. Really good! Nice reaction and analysis.

This is one of the best reactions and breakdowns of a song I think I've ever seen. Not only because SX is one of the most underrated bands in the world but just to see you light up and really enjoy the song makes my day. Coming back rewatching this from time to time. There are so many more good songs from them, you should just pick one and go from there. Epic ones are of course The Odyssey and The Divine Wings of Tragedy but their shorter catalog of songs are great as well. Gonna enjoy you diving into these guys a bit further. Thanks for a great channel!

I love this band. They haven't released a bad album, there are so many good recommendations, but I think you should check The Odyssey, is a lengthy song (24 mins) but it's a showcase of everything they have done, and a masterpiece... If you think it's too long then do any song because they are all great... There may be a lot of recomendations for Divine Wings of Tragedy, which is amazing, but the production is way better in the more recent records

For some reason this symphony x reaction came out of nowhere and I'm so happy to see them showcased here. Being a huge Dream Theater fan I would argue that Symphony X is hugely under appreciated and every bit as talented as DT.I would also add that this album is better that anything DT has done since Portnoy left the band. Not hating on the brilliant Mike Mangini but they just aren’t the same band.

I'm absolutely elated that you reviewed one of my favorite bands of all time and seem to be just as enthralled with them as I am! I see that you've done other videos of them, I'll have to watch those too. It's always interesting to hear your analysis. I would have liked to hear what you thought about how the vocals fit with the rest of the song. Honestly this is one of my favorite songs by them, it's like ear candy. 😍
Some other bands I think you should check out:
    * Mandroid Echostar- They've been compared to Protest the Hero as well as Coheed and Cambria but I think they really stand out on their own. They definitely have elements in common with both of those bands. Something about the lead singer's voice feels so unique to me, yeah it's Claudio-esque but ...not sure how to describe it, would love to hear your thoughts on the lead singer's voice! (Michael Ciccia).
    * Ihlo- specifically the song Reanimate. Very interesting song.
*Scar Symmetry- I've loved this band since high school. They've changed a lot, so I recommend listening to their older albums that had the singer Christian Alvestam. Symmetric in Design, Pitch Black Progress, and Holographic Universe.
*Skindred- They're Regga metal. Definitely need to listen to them!

I can't wait to see what you can do with songs like: The Accolade II, Iconoclast, and specially The Divine Wings of Tragedy and their best piece of music "The Odyssey" (the last 2 are 20+ min long). I've only recently got into Symphony X (about 2 years now I'd say). I have never heard or seen any guitar player play like Michael Romeo does. I'm a 13+ yr guitarist and i actually think he is more exciting to watch than hear because he is just so precise and smooth, his fingers look like there is no effort involved at all, like they are just floating.
