When i was 17 i went to my first In Flames concert. I told my parents it was in the same town we where living and that i was going to sleep at a friends house. Took the train 360 km away. Went on the concert after the concert i snuck into a strip club and got thrown out. Had to sleep outside in a parkinglot until my train arrived in the morning. Was so worth it. Now im 37 and In Flames still rocks =)

34 years old here too! Shit brings me back to highschool. Been on a huge in flames binge lately, the sound/style of these guys is just one of a kind.
As someone in their early 60's, I remember seeing these guys support Motorhead in Leicester, UK. Totally different but so heavy. They stuck in my mind in a way no other support band has ever done. You just can not avoid head banging to this from the very start. Incredible, original band - the melodic pounding rhythms are to die for.

Clayman to me is Colony part 2. A bit more melody focused, but basically the same production, sound, and quality. IMO, two of the best metal albums of all time.

I will admit that Come Clarity brought me to this band. A lot of people hate the post Clayman stuff, but if it wasn't for the new
stuff, I never would have found this masterpiece. In fact, In Flames is the band that got me into melodic death metal.
Come clarity is heavier than clayman
Try Dark tranquillity..they are the masters in that genre

It was 2010. I was a teen channel surfing. I came across this music video. This is the song that got me into metal 10 years ago.
Metallica, enter sandman did it for me.
I remember when they played it live during the Clayman tour (they were touring with Dark Tranquillity and Sentenced), I saw them perform in Italy (both Roma and Milano) and in Switzerland. Everywhere and everytime they just burnt the venue down.
Hard to believe that I've been listening to in flames 26yrs and their songs still sounding as fresh as they did when I first heard them. Can't wait to see you on 25th March for the 5th time

Making an assessment of the best melodic metal albums I have to say that the album clayman is for me a flawless musical work and the best album of in flames without any doubt. They have made very good albums but without a doubt I will keep this one. If I had to recommend an album to a person who asked me without a doubt I would recommend this album because from the first to the last song all of them are incredible. Although it sounds shocking, for me it is the best work that has been done in the melodic metal in history. I will never get tired of listening to it. Always clayman in my veins. CLAYMAN FUCKING PERFECT!

Just saw these guys last night with Megadeth, Lamb of God, and Trivium. These guys blew them all away, and I love Megadeth, but these guys were amazing.
Hell yeah, I also saw them live when they touring were with those awesome dudes I gotta agree with you. Back then around may I didn't know many of their songs but now I love so so many songs from them to the point that they're probably my favorite band. IN FLAMES WE TRUST!!
