The Asian woman in this video asked why are divorced people allowed to participate in the church when the bible says they shouldn't but homosexuals are barred? No one answered her question, everyone just blew over it.
And it was one of the strongest points of that conversation too...They couldn't address it without breaking down their own hypocrisy.
Because divorce is allowed in christianity, in the case of adultery.
Therefore, if a person gets a divorce because they couldn't continue their marriage because their spouse cheated on them (or the other way round), then they can still serve in the church.

They hurt me in such a deep and personal way that i don't think I'll ever feel comfortable associating myself with anything that has an Abrahamic label. And there are more and more people every day who come to that conclusion. It sucks, but i feel more at peace with myself today without Christianity than i ever did with it, and i will never give that up for what's equivalent to an abusive family again.

I was a progressive/liberal christian before, but then I became conservative, not only because I started to read more bible, but because I knew I was in the wrong side.

This is not Liberal Christians vs. Republican Christians, it is Progressive Christians vs. Conservative Christians. There is a difference that does not relate directly to politics.
i mean it does relate directly to politics which is why they talk about various policy (abortion, marriage) and why 2/3 conservative Christians and 0/3 progressive Christians said republicans were more Christ-like.

@katiebells the Bible explicitly states that God hates divorce, Malachi 2:16. If someone was divorced prior to becoming a Christian they are not going to be excluded from service. If someone was practicing homosexuality prior to becoming Christian they should not be excluded either. But no one can claim to be a Christian and also practice homosexuality. They also cannot claim to be Christian and desire divorce.

I just read them over and over and pray about memorization.

nope. Conservative Muslims stand by what they believe in regardless. You cannot sway their opinions nor can you have a simple conversation about differing views. That's MY experience being born Muslim and no longer identifying with Islam in my community. The majority of conservative Muslims believe they are one hundred percent correct in every idea that they have been taught and even discussing different ideas/views is regarded as sinful. Not much of a discussion would ever happen (in my opinion).

I’m a same-sex attracted to Christian and I found deliverance and freedom and joy and peace that everyone searches for through Jesus. It’s very so possible that he will be just fine if he keeps his faith in God. 🤗
I don’t want to be nice to others to avoid going to hell. I want to be nice to others because I genuinely want to be a decent human being.
Jesus wasn’t nice because He didn’t want to go to hell. He was nice because He was, indeed, genuinely a nice person who never did anything wrong to anybody. In fact, His kindness was just the tip of the iceberg. He was and is SO much more than that, so having faith is about so much more than just being nice.
You missed the point.... we can’t go to heaven just because we force ourselves to be nice. You have to genuinely want to do it. I didn’t help kids in 6th grade with suicide and cutting themselves to make me look good and take me to Heaven. I did it because I wanted them to go to Heaven. You missed something.

But here's the thing it is not our works that lead us to heaven, it is our faith in Jesus Christ. Christians just do the works because God is working through us but Jesus has already done the work and paid for us to be a part of His family with His blood. We are saved by grace not by works, lest anyone should boast. - Ephesians 2:8

It’s crazy how respectful everyone here is! I was completely expecting a screaming match of opinions. I’m not a Christian by any means and am certainly liberal in my beliefs but here there were a few points where I could really respect the conservative Christians.

(42) And [mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allāh has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds
(43) O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]."
(44) That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muḥammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens[124] as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed.
(45) [And mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allāh gives you good tidings of a word[125] from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allāh].
(46) He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous."
(47) She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allāh; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is.
(48) And He will teach him writing and wisdom[126] and the Torah and the Gospel
messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allāh. And I cure the blind [from birth] and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allāh. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.
(50) And [I have come] confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear Allāh and obey me.
(51) Indeed, Allāh is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path.'"
(52) But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, "Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allāh?" The disciples said, "We are supporters for Allāh. We have believed in Allāh and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him].
(53) Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger [i.e., Jesus], so register us among the witnesses [to truth]."
(54) And they [i.e., the disbelievers] planned, but Allāh planned. And Allāh is the best of planners.
Allāh said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify [i.e., free] you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allāh alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.
(56) And as for those who disbelieved, I will punish them with a severe punishment in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers

Great panel discussion. However, I wanted to hear more about the scripture that supposedly mentions interracial marriage. There is a scripture in 2Corinthians concerning unequally yoke with non-believers, not different races. As Christians we are all unified together "in Christ," regardless of our differing ethnicities.

Yes, I do fear the concepts that the "Liberals" brought up. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to know that all scripture is good for teaching and applying. Who is to say that Paul was not speaking God's word but a well-known prophet like Elijah wasn't. This narrative gives others looking to explore Christianity as a whole further doubt into the validity of the bible. Jesus talked about keeping His children out of the kingdom of heaven, and His punishment for those people is going to be quite unpleasant. See Luke 17:2

There are so many lost texts in Christians due to the denouncement of Judaism by the Protestant/Catholic church, King James, and just overall colonialism. So in other words it’s an incomplete text. That doesn’t remove the validity but the fact that you are absorbing an incomplete text, and only including the Old Testament for personal convenience goes against the core of Christianity. It’s ideology and faith not law, so there’s room for interpretation and context.

You seem to fail to realize that Christians are different than Jews not from "overall colonialism" but the fact we see Jesus as God in the flesh and the Jews don't. There is a reason why KJV is used most by both Cath/Protest and by people with degrees in theology. We include the Old Testament but how does that go against core beliefs? Being Christian has laws on it. You ever heard of a thing called the 10 Commandments? There is no room for interpretation if God says sin is bad.
@@TheJacobiedwards I was not saying there was no room for interpretation. Rather it is good that we gather together and have meaningful discussions about God's word. I also meant that others outside the faith would question the validity(I never said they were right to do so). I simply meant if we as Christians decide that we are going to see one part of the Bible as an opinion and not the word of God then who are we to call the Bible God's holy word. We should take all scripture into account and let it divide right from wrong in our lives. This includes taking into account the words of God's servant Paul.

The form of slavery referred to in The Bible wasn’t the kind you enter unwillingly. It was the last and only protection from destitution many people had. They often would suffer some misfortune and get hired for x amount of time until they were sorted. It was actually closer to a labor-based social protection program than chattel slavery.
