Walking through Omonoia, let alone at night, LET ALONE with a camera, is absolutely wild. Mad respect, you've shown a reality not many want to acknowledge.
If you go walking around Omonoia even in night nobody will touch you. It is like shit but people who are able to steal you prefer to work with people who have money, not with drug addicts.

Omonoia is not a "suburb", it's literally the center of Athens geographically.
They do not know what the say...Of course there are big problems and the first reason is politically and social.
they try to drop the area/land value. When the prices are low enough and 10 guys/companies/families would have bought everything, then they will send the military and remove everyone
Definitely not a suburb, but together with the Sintagma the heart of the city, left and right ventricle. Like Times Square or Trafalgar Square.

Ain't no love in the heart of the city!
You can see how bad the situation is in our society, when people are saying: "come on it's not that bad, junkies won't hurt you, they're just shooting heroin in front of your kid, they just throw away the injection you might step on, come on it's not that bad, i walked there once and i didn't get raped"
This shit has to be fixed, it's not a competition, we lost our humane side and it's taking us downhill
The only people who say that are hard core leftists
As a former junkie myself I can tell you that we normally don’t hurt normal people, yes there are cases where this happens and it’s sadly really common that junkies would steal from you, but most of us wouldn’t hurt anyone. Most of the time we wouldn’t shoot up in front of kids and in places where this happens, children should be there anyway. Normally we plug our needles so that no one will hurt himself on it and people that know they have transferable diseases will care about this even more.
I can only talk about the places I was in and that’s cities in the US and Germany, but I hope it’s at least partly informative and true for where you live. But I have to agree with you that the situation has gotten very bad in our society and this really need to be fixed asap
When someone says “they won’t hurt you” means literally that. Of course it’s something that needs to be fixed but drug trafficking and users will never end. About children seen needles and the horrid scene.. all you need to do is pass with your kids once so they know what’s going on and they can put in their brain what’s happens if you end up using substances.. and then use different streets to go about your business. You make it sound like people agree with this terrible situation but I assure you no one in the right mind does.
All over the world in the middle of the city you will encounter streets such as omonia! Get real.
^ These two comments think they’re making some intelligent point when they’re just further enforcing your point…trying to normalize junkies shooting up at children’s parks is sick behavior and a hard attempt at coping with the disgusting place society is in.
A few months ago I was in Athens with friends but extended my trip so I could enjoy the city alone. Being that I am familiar with the hotel franchise, I booked a few nights at the Novotel in Omonia. Im 25 and have done plenty of solo traveling, but had no idea that neighborhood had the reputation it has. My taxi driver who was taking me to check into the hotel made me book a different hotel while I was in his cab. He told me he has a daughter and a wife and would hope that someone would suggest the same for them.
I felt real uneasy watching this, because I have seen it through the windows of that cab. your content is incredible, and I have now become a subscriber. Having seen Omonia, I have become more interested in learning about Greece's more recent politics/ history than its ancient history.

Yes I love ancient Greek history but it does seem most people stop there. People tend to neglect modern Greece like it doesn't exist. I'm sort of guilty of that. It is easy to be disenchanted with the modern world as a whole. I think it is because it is too available and the ancient past seems more magical because one cannot reach it fully like the present. But humans have always been the same by nature
As a Greek, I find it heartbreaking. Athens, especially the center is a mess. Poor lighting, broken sidewalks, drug addicts, ugly graffiti, seedy neighborhoods. The government, the mayors, don't care since they walk such streets only for election purposes. Your video is good, I had seen a similar one you made in Scampia, Naples. You are doing a good job, I hope things change someday.
It would be better for all of us if the government stopped stealing from us and trying to “fix” our lives. The state is the root of our problems, not the solution

I remember Omonia Square in the 80’s. It was beautiful.
There was an awesome 4 storey building that was full of toys, the cafes were full of elderly men passing their time and families were everywhere.
I was in Omonia a few weeks ago and likely at the time of the making of this video. It saddens me to see the state of Omonia now and this is despite the efforts of successive governments to repair and improve it.
The fact is that Greece like so many other nations is losing its middle class. What will remain will be the lower class and the the very rich. Corruption has destroyed a beautiful country.
My grandparents had a shop near Exarhia (Themistokleous) selling furniture. There were always drugs there near Omonia since the 50's and there were always buyers and sellers. My grandfather bought a car in the early 50's (second hand) and almost every day he got stopped by the police. After 2-3 months of constant police searches he reached to a friend of his, policeman, to find why he was stopped all the time. After some searching, he informed my grandfather that the car belonged to a drug dealer

As an Athenian, this was very disheartening to watch. I think Athens, if properly governed, could be one of the most beautiful European cities. Thanks for highlighting the difference with Exarcheia! There are many beautiful streets in the center of Athens and around Syntagma square it's pretty safe, but Omonoia really is very scary to walk around at night. Even natives avoid it and I think that says it all. I really wish the situation changes in the future.
The compo that drops at 9:50 is always a banger. One of many really good atmo compos you have in these.
I was there in October and walked Omonia during the night and I felt safe because the drug users aren't dangerous. They are just lost in their world.
The Pakistanoafghans occupying every small street around Omonoia, are though!
Numerous attacks. Deaths just for a camera, rapes in the middle of the day within some small alley.
So, yeah... definitely not safe!
Also for women ? I am just curious
I was also there in Oktober, my hotel for the last two days was in this area. I didn’t know about the junkies there. It was strange for me but I wasn’t afraid. Nevertheless at night I rather took a taxi back to my hotel. I hate uncontrollably situations and you never know. I’m a police officer but it’s still awful and can be dangerous for woman. 🤷🏼♀️ it’s sad
@@jacamaca17 The drug addicts from other areas of Athens moved at this area the last 4 years by the ex mayor and the police, the tried to hide the broblem not to fix it
😂😂exactly this guy made it seem dangerous i walked thee the whole night without any fear
You just showed a part of what some people here in Greece try to sweep under the rug, bravo. As an Athenian, I can confirm that the situation is real bad. As a woman though, the situation is worse. Every day I have to go to Omonia so I can get to my job, by using a corresponding bus etc, I have been harassed so many times, so many guys just like these on your vid have stalked me, straight up on my face followed me around, approached me, try to steal from me. The worse is when the sky's starting to get darker. All you see are groups of men walking around, looking at you crazily etc, even if you're a man or a woman, doesn't matter, it's not safe. And Omonia is the CENTRE of Athens. The heart of Athens. Unacceptable that a EU city is in such condition, no wonder so many people want to leave from Athens and move on somewhere safer (people who live nearby Omonia because there are other areas in Athens that are relatively safe compared to Omonia and nearby).
I think the CENTRE of Athens is Syntagma square (and rightfully) which is a lot better!
Bad news Sonya but it was a big mistake joining the EU apart from the money eh ? Trouble is that the next poor country or countries that join will get the money and Greece will be forced to pay into the kitty to give to those countries . The EU is an undemocratic and corrupt organisation but you must have gathered that by now surely ? Why do you think the sensible people of Britain voted OUT although they are having their serious revenge now and that is costing us dear . The Left are trying to destroy us all despite not being in power . problem is , the current "Tories" are socialists and not conservatives , they have lied to us all as usual .

Thank God someone mentioned how safe is the area of Exarcheia comparing to other places in Athens. The streets near Omonoia are crazy, but the craziest bit is that up until a couple of years ago, one of the drug markets of Athens was outside the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens. There were literally tourists on the front side taking pictures of the Main University building, and people dying from drugs on the side. Crazy, crazy situation and the police is too busy beating protesters instead of solving the unocontrolled drug problem of the city.
Omonia now is way more chill than it used to be as well.

The book explains how graffiti in Athens is more politically motivated than places that focus purely on design like New York and Sydney.

Omonoia, a square which used to be the cultural centre of Athens 50 years ago. The place you would walk with your girlfriend, your children, your elder parents and have a pleasant time. But, times have changed. I lived in Athens for almost 2 decades, and it's heartbreaking. For foreigners that don't know, Omonoia is just the worst of many, many areas in Athens where it's full of drugs, brothels and criminality. We've come to a point that Athenians can't walk on most streets of the whole city when it's dark, because it's more likely to get robbed or attacked than not to. As a Greek Athenian now living abroad, I couldn't feel sadder.
Why didn't you stay and fight for a change instead of fleeing abroad as a coward

It's sad to see how economic crisis has ruined that city. I travelled a lot of capitals in Europe and I must say that Athens is the one who is suffering the major effects of the crisis, with abandoned buildings, poor infrastructure and junkies and homeless all over the streets. That is such a shame, considering the importance this city had in the history of humanity. I live in Rome so I know what it feels like to have such an important city falling down like that, but sadly Athens beats Rome in this unfortunate battle
It's not about economic crisis. It's about illegal immigration. Most of these people are not Greeks. Tbh, the center of Athens is mostly inhabited by foreigners.
It's not about immigration nor about economic crisis. This city is being ruined consistently since the 50s by building and building and destroying and building and making areas into ghettos, ruining the aesthetic combined with the shitty mentality of Greek people. Immigrants are contributing to the economy, I'm always shopping from immigrant shops since they are always cheaper and have such a great variety of foods. So if you are blaming the immigrants, I got news for you. You are racist
@@giorgosg336 illegal immigration can be the cause of pickpocketing, homelessness and drug abuse, but not for pollution and abandoned buildings
It is not the economic crisis responsible for that. Neither the emigrants. As I remember, last 30 years, that is the situation.

What is unique about the situation around Omonia square, compared to other main cities, is that Omonia is actually the very center of Athens and not some far out suburn where the cursed of the city live. Omonia in the old days, used to be the meeting point for all the people from the countryside visiting the capital and till the early '00s it was also the focal point of celebrations for big sport events (for example the Euro 2004 Greek win). In comparison, it would be as if the streets around Federation Square in Melbourne or Trafalgar Square in London were like that.. Nowadays the center of life has swifted towards Syntagma square and Omonia has lost it's past significance in the life of the Athenians, as a consequence of the rapid decline of the area.
the metro crippled omonoia sq first, then the 2008 financial crisis killed it
In the 90s it was much worse

The difference of Athens compared to the rest of the world is that it is actually SAFE to walk there, these addicts mind their own business. The government knows, the police knows, and they provide specific areas for drug addicts and dealers (of course out of the record). Addicts and dealers are also a way to drop real-estate prices in certain zones, proceed with buying cheap, then gentrify the zones and make them exclusive for high-earners and tourists. Back in 2004 when the Olympics games were held in Athens, all these guys were "moved" to some other locations so that they would not be witnessed by the world until the games were over.
Very well said.
It's not safe, it's safer than some other ghettos perhaps but it definitely feels worse than it probably is
They dont provide areas, they are just reluctant to get to those areas. Because if they apply security cleanliness and health measures to those areas , there are very strong militarized anarchist and far-leftist movements which are supported by media as well, and police plus the government will be labelled as fascist and against the freedoms and democracy strangely,
it is a misconception and mislabelling which gained ground in Greece as an overreaction to the military junta of 1967-1974 (mainly) , the 1980s socialist messaging by goverment secondarily, and the civil war of 1949 thirdly although less so. Also the essense of modern Greek music which is rebetiko has some anti-police songs (since they were Greek refugees and workers in the ports who made the essence of music -- but their issue was only that they smoked weed and so were searched by police not other crimes but the songs bad mouthing the police men remain, after they are mis-interpreted falsely as against all things police. Even the rebetiko singers would be on the side of the police on these occasions)
@@innosantoWhat a load of bs , the anarchist neighborhood is exarcheia and it is much safer than any other neighboring neighborhood , the people that live in exarcheia together with anarchists have protested in the past because police were leading the drug dealers in their neighborhood to undermine it and find a reason to raid the place.
I have seen with my own eyes and there are multiple photos online of police talking to drug dealers and leading them to anarchist buildings and neighborhoods so they can find a reason to raid them it is a known tactic together with policemen wearing civilian clothes with hoods burning and pillaging again so they can blame the anarchists you don't have to believe me you can Google and see the photos yourself.
You can't change the drug addiction problem in the city center by throwing them in jail since jails are full and those people will either die or cause serious commotion in the jail apart from the fact that there is drug dealing inside the jails.
The only solution is to help fund the government programs for drug addiction that help those people and then help your own society , deal with the rampant inequalities so people don't have to end up as drug addicts in the first place.
As we speak the greek government is trying to undermine the already existing drug addiction programs unifying them into 1 poorly funded one.

My Mondays are abit more exciting now with your uploads 👍 and your vlogs are an added bonus too, always keen to see what's installed for us,much appreciated brother!!
Big Respect you man from Finland 👍
hey man finding someone that speaks fluent English in Greece shouldn’t be too hard to do! this is my first video of yours to watch and i’m definitely subscribing! hope you get to do a video about the Athens graffiti someday, i’d love to see it
The only CZcams content I look forward too seeing, from Birmingham UK 👌 keep going Spanian
Thanks for giving the world the videos we didn’t know we needed! Been loving these, real interesting
Am watching this from Greece while walking right next to Omonoia at night lmao. Your video made the news in Greece btw
He started confident and ended traumatised, mad respect for him to walk alone with a camera in the middle of omonoia
I stayed here with my girlfriend for all of September this year and it’s actually very safe. It’s true that there are junkies openly smoking meth and shooting up heroin on the street, and it’s dirty and there’s a lot of graffiti, but it’s not unsafe like similar looking places in countries like the US or even in France. I’m not sure why, but I was walking around every day and night, to and from the gym, to the shops etc, right by people smoking meth, and never once had anyone even say something to me let alone act threateningly. People seem to keep to themselves and maybe that’s why it isn’t policed, maybe they get to do their thing because they don’t get aggressive with others.
So true. Junkies there will never bother you... they might ask for money but thats it.
I AGREE VERY MUCH BOTH BROTHERS. I LOVE GREECE 🇬🇷
Very true. Exactly the same for me
People strung out and openly smoking meth and other drugs is not normal and is not "Safe". You are too used to it.....thats why you dont see it for the DUMP that it is.
its safe because all those characters are known to the police, they touch anyone, they dont go to jail, The cops will get rid of them the old fashion way.
Always with the banger vids Spanian, keep crushing it brother 🤙
Mean video again bro
Keep up the work brother love
Thank you for making this video.
What the hell is happening to Europe? That's so frightening and sad. Greece, France, Germany, Sweden - each of these countries have some kind of really serious problems with drugs, illegal immigrants and homelessness. How will our countries look like in 10-20 years?
worst
Islam, it destroys everything it touches
@@cabaneseric4653 keep bringing all that garbage in
These people end up in this state for varius reasons. No country in the world has a proper plan, or the will to solve this problem. I don't know where you are from, but one difference I've noticed between US and Europe is that Americans treat these people like they're the problem. Being homeless in NYC is almost considered a crime. They punish them and feel cleaner while imprisoning or killing them. In Europe we do not help them either. But we also don't try to hide them in prisons. We just admit we're useless and let this problem grow bigger pretending it's no one's fault. Anyways. You asked whats happening? We all fucking suck. That's what's happening.
Zionists is what is the problems and Americans. No massive wars and killing millions and leaving millions displaced of those of families. Then look behind who is leaders in European mitigation? Same ppl started wars. They want this to happen to start a war. Yes bad Islamic, bad Africans, bad Greeks tho. It's not just one religious group. It's elites and their easy if divide and conquer. Worse slow drug addicted ppl, divided ppl & more are the easiest to control.
Please I hope people look into it more. Yes immigration is a problem a half Greek sad to see. But if these elites that sway governments both sides and use them as puppets to start wars this wouldn't be as bad. It's so many reasons and if look to top It's not Islamic, Muslims etc. It's Zionist Elites and 1% of elites if this world. Just wait till we get to agenda30 and 2025 to 2030 when next pandemica start and race wars. It's coming get set. But be United with the people not hatred and divided!
I love that you have no shame walking around. It’s mad and authentic.
I’m Greek but I live in the Netherlands for 11 years now and I’m so grateful the circumstances gave me the opportunity (with a lot of work as well) to leave from there!!! I appreciate my life now even more 😮
Although in Greece someone should be afraid of the police, once it’s them that beat the people around 😂
Bro i served in the Greek special forces just outside Athens in 1992-93. Omonia use to be the place we would go for coffee or a feed and back then was bad I can imagine it today.. Exarhia yes was always known as a bed area too back in the day.. stay safe bro ✌🏽🇦🇺 great content

I’ve walked around this area many times at night. Grateful I’ve been to not just Athens but many Cyclades too around Greece 🇬🇷 twice now for months. I didn’t watch the video but I felt 1000 times more safe in even the most sketchiest parts of Athens than I do in many places in the U.S. I love Greece., definitely one of my favorite countries and people.
Yeah I went through Mexico in 2009 and felt much more safe than I did in many parts of the US on the same trip.
Its a safe area just sketchy, but safe for tourists
Any good brothels lad ?
I stayed here over night in 2012, just after the Olympics. Truth be told we only stayed here because it was close to the port to travel to the Islands the next day.
I have to say this was an eye opener, our taxi driver advised us to be very careful. Soon as we arrived we saw some dude shoot heroin in his genitals & had woman soliciting their services during the middle of the day. After we checked in the hotel, the four of us blokes (mid 20s at the time) decided to go for a walk in the area. Soon after we were being followed so we decided to head straight back to the hotel until check out.
This video just brought back some memories but every country has its rough parts hey. Outside of this experience I've always loved my travels to Greece, can't wait to go back.
@@eli9826my taxi said the exact same thing 😂 it is very sketchy at night but more or less harmless during the day
Would never go out alone as a female in that area however
I stayed at a hostel called Athens Hawk, 3 blocks from the water fountain and honestly felt pretty safe at nights there. Got a madddd haircut for 5€ and the gyros were 2.5€. How good! Street art was hectic too, look out for the smurf.
When was that? Gyros is about 4€ now :(

For anyone curious, the sound and air coming from the vent at 7:51 was from the metro, the underground train of the city. There's two lines connecting in Omonoia right there so it's one of the busiest stations in Athens.
I'm Greek, I don't even live in Athens (though I've visited many many times) and the situation is pretty much a well known fact among all of us. We know not to walk through Omonoia at night, especially alone, unless completely necessary. It has been so normalized for us that it honestly was very important to see your reaction to it because, yes, having people do drugs right in the middle of a busy street is very much not normal, and it's a direct result of a declining and uncaring government.
Lived in Athens last year for Uni on a semester abroad from Ireland, I remember some poor tourist woman asking me at around 8pm once on the metro, how many stops until her hotel... I checked and her hotel was in Omonia had to tell her gently to go straight to her hotel and not walk around too much, a scary spot for someones first day in a new place!
Crazy video spanian! just a suggestion, since these videos are cut down heaps, can you upload extra uncut footage of these hood tours on your 2nd channel. It’s just so interesting to see more of what you’re showing!! Just an idea

Hey spanian !,love yourwork man. Iwasthere about a month ago 😮 and it really freaked me out .Your reaction made me realisehow real that was eh heavy scene there no jokes
We travelled to Greece back in 2008 for a family holiday. The internet was so new we weren’t able to do much research about where to stay. Our first stop was Omonia, by day it was tolerable but on my second night there I wanted to go to the corner shop for a gyro and the concierge advised me as a 20 something year old female I should take my male cousins with me and even then it would be a big risk. Watching this video has broken my heart that things haven’t improved but have gotten a lot worse. I disliked even the nicer parts of Athens we stayed in compared to the villages but it’s heartbreaking to see my motherland turn into this 😢
Hi Spanian great video again - me and my gf stayed in Omonoia in July and genuinely the sketchiest place we have been. The road behind our hotel was like an episode of the walking dead and people throwing things at our taxi . Our hotel had armed security and the view from our room showed a church that had been overtaken by these junkies. Crack pipes galore . We had to taxi back at night because we were advised it was so unsafe , we even felt in the day it was just as bad. Great vid 🇬🇷🇬🇷
BEST INTRO AND DEFINITELY MY NEW FAVORITE SERIES, DOPE MAN STAY SAFE AND KEEP THEM COMING!!! 🔥🔥
That cafe is actually a restaurant called Diporto. I was there a few months ago. Another fact is that Omonia is only 2 stops to Syntagma Square where the Greek parliament is. Athens is really nice but looks quite rundown If I am totally honest.
Bro you've got more guts than me ya wouldn't catch me in any of theas gettos. I seen the one ya did in cable town , great stuff bruv keep em coming 👍💯🇦🇺
Love ya work. Keep the great content coming bro.
How can you not like this lad his laugh is cool and he just enjoys life by the look off him🎉
Wow. Birth place of many things. Who would have guessed that this would be gong on🙏🏿🙏. Bless
My favourite video yet. My bro and I only 3 months ago walked through Omonia to get to our hotel. It was eye opening to say the least! Incredible how bad Greece has fallen. This is coming from a Greek too.
Luckily, Greece is not Athens. Athenians love to life in a leftist dirty graffiti infested atmosphere, but not the rest of the country. Otherwise, it would have changed to the better all these years.
This is the future of every city, it's only a matter of time.
I live in Albuquerque New Mexico. Just st found your channel.. I'm hooked!!!🎉💟
Keep doing what ye doing brother make me day these videos
Lived there for 6 months as a trainee. Shit is straight up wild, makes one think on the differences within Europe NGL. Got pursued, harassed, had a young girl ask me for fire for her crack pipe and shit, you really have to keep your wits about you there. Passing through shouldn't be an issue most of the time, but don't move there if you're not street smart. I'd go as far as to say don't move there if you're a woman, period.
Make no mistake, Greece in a huge crisis and bankrupt a decade now. Will take another 10-20 years for this.

Simple solution to get them to leave this area are “Stadium” lights that consist of multiple lighting fixtures strategically positioned around to provide even illumination across the streets. These fixtures are usually mounted on tall poles or structures surrounding a targeted area. They will disappear pretty quickly these lights are blinding.
Spanian keeps it real. TV production companies should sign him up to present documentaries. 😁🇬🇧
That underground cafe is called Diporto… hektik home style Greek food 👌👌
Unreal man. You got balls of steel doing that!
I personally wouldn’t go into such an area, without a concealed camera !
@Spanian the underground facility you showed is one of the oldest and more traditional taverns still in existence in Athens and it has a limited number of plates every day but man they are so tasty.
The grills were you felt that hot air was coming out is the Underground of the city NOT the Metro but the old line that connects the port of Athens Pireas to Athens ending to its more northern suburb of Kifisia where the elite used to stay.
The area indeed is a hub of drugs and houses many illegal immigrants or homeless people but I have experienced more criminal areas and of course more dangerous where you risk gutted by knife.
I used to walk those streets daily about 15yrs ago, not much have changed.
It had a weirdly cozy feeling to it (as you said), it felt "secured" being among all those people with the same issues as you.
If I go there now they'll eat me alive though.
The game is lost, the organizations that are supposed to battle the addiction are in the game, and deliberately making the life of addicts harder.
I forgot to do my research when I visited Athens in July and ended up staying at a hotel in Omonoia. Walking through the streets made me super uneasy even though nobody even looked my way. Sad to see the areas that are neglected by politicians.
What was the hotel? Was it as bad as the rest of the area?
It’s the same in England with dirty streets and litter everywhere, the migrants get better treatment than our homeless . Our government doesn’t care
I was living in Ecarchia during 2001-2007 pre and post Olympic games in 2004.Because of the Olympic games the center in 2004 was clean and beautiful, was the years that Exarxhia really changed in this that you described in the video very well.Previously was not like this ,was really dangerous the locals have been said to me.Also in Omonoia the square was reconstructed these years for the games and was really good ans safe and clean. After 2004 and especially after the economical crisis in 2009 came the chaos in Omonoia. The good news are that Exarchia are getting better and better, there are many fights with the police like you said but nothing else
Pretty accurate report on exarchia . One more reason why drug trafficking is not rampant there (while there is quite a big issue as well) is that in a few cases anarchists have thrown the dealers out
Welcome to Greece. The situation here in Athens is really bad and I hope it will get better. Have fun brother and stay safe.
Δίκιο Έχει Δυστυχώς Η Πρωτεύουσα Είναι Ένα Μπουρδέλο
WOW! Fantastic video bro! I'm ashamed of this images as a Greek but is the cold stone truth. I never saw any of your videos you just got viral with this in the Greek sites (blogs) so i know you are legit as you mention a unique distinction between Exarcheia and Omonoia.
You are really lucky you got out one piece and with all your belongings!!
Bravo Aussie you discovered you’re meaning in life 😂
I lived in Victoria (very close to Omonia) for almost 6 months in 2017. I can truly say I walked through Omonia, and I never experienced something bad. I heard that Exarchia was dangerous at that time, but I visited there also 2 years ago, and it was pretty okay. Never experienced any problem.
Just did 2 months in Europe, 11 countries total and Athens was my favourite. I stayed in a hostel in Omonoia and def saw some sketchy shit but never really felt unsafe. Just keep to yourself and you'll be fine. Graff scene is off it's head. Also if you plan on doing an It's all eats video there be sure to hit up Kostas for their gyros, best thing I've ever put in my mouth
You try Bulgaria? Because you will love it
YEAH BOI!!!!!Kostas gyros was fucking amazing, I went back for a second takeaway order right after eating my gyro. I even learned the sentence "thelo dio kotopoulo gyros ke enas patates" in the line, the cooks deserved it. Best gyros anywhere, go check it out guys
If you want to go to actual hood of Athens you should go to Menidi,Ano Liosia or Zefyri those are cartel hood areas super dangerous ,Omonoia is just a center ghetto area. Also a fact about Greece is that it is the only country in the world other than latin American countries that is controlled by druglords
You want him to die or something? There are violent gypsies and russian/slavic/pontioi there that wouldnt have a big issue with that. At the very least they will beat the crp out of him, and no footage left. If he doesnt have local friend/s to be accepted in there with controlled footage then he SHOULDN'T go there. He should keep going upwards from omonoia towards patisia, attiki, metaksourgeio, especially plateia vathis and all around it, just be more prepared to fight and defend cause there at night too few non criminal people walk the streets and its not junkies thats the biggest issue.. Gangs of illegal-made-legal immigrants are more active there because they are the 50% of the population in patisia currently . So a white man with a camera will have an issue at somepoint at night but won't die probably. Theyll surely follow him though.
You really don't know what you saying. I live in Menidi and honestly is seams like paradise in front of omonoia and Athens center. I never walked in Athens center alone as a woman but in Menidi I can walk alone till 12 at night and be safe, there's people with dogs, kids, stores and normal people in general. Yes they are gypsies but they are in Zefyri, the city next to menidi and ano liosia. They are drug addicts but they're hidden well, not like omonoia street and of course way less
Also pontioi and Slavic people are good people with families and homes, most of the times they protect us from gypsies
@@maryts.6046 Menidi might not be as bad as Omonoia but Ano Liosia and Zefyri are way more dangerous
Albania.
Thank you brother,I ve been living in Athens for 13 years and never seen this area. Many people will pass by Omonia but not those streets...
Spanian I went exactly here back in August this year and I agree with the video 100%. I have dozens of photos of needles and saw people doing many different substances on the streets even during the middle of the day. Was crazy
Honestly, to see him walking in the middle of the road, when he came from the streets himself, tells you a lot about visiting that place.
This whole series is amazing. Such an eye opener to so many people. Crazy that alot of these countries are HUGE tourism places too. Aus isn't perfect but man it makes you really appreciate it here. If you showed me this and told me i was anywhere in Europe i would've been shocked before your video
