- BRONX, NY - A neighbor shared this Ring Doorbell video after some people in his building became stuck in an elevator. Luckily FDNY stopped by and were able to free everyone from the elevator.

I've been in those old NY elevators before, 7 people was WAY too many people for that crappy thing.
Blessings to all Fireman , Police, and EMT'S they do a heck of a job to service all of us .

Iam glad they're alright. Back in the day we never use the elevator in projects because it was a death trap .

I got stuck in an elevator in Toronto as a kid. And I’ve had recurring elevator nightmares where either the elevator drops, or it goes shooting up out of the building into the sky 😢😅

As someone that is claustrophobic, every minute going by would be absolute torture for me. When firefighters rescued me, I was in a near delusionalsl state and the firefighters were highly trained to deal with that. I was stuck for less than 10 minutes and it took the Orlando Fire Department more than an hour to calm me down. Thank goodness that firefighters are trained in various forms of first aid and the people in the elevator were smart enough to see what was happening and placeda small sheet over my head as I wS crouching down.

CHARLIE the Apartment Handyman got stuck on the elevator at my Apartment Complex and it was in the hot summer in our VEGAS and he was in there for at least 1 hour and when they finally got him out I slipped him a $100 bill !! Because I have studied Psychology Books and I know stuff!
I wonder if he is okay these days.

When the elevator gives a little bounce don't we all turn into a carnival worker and start adding the weight of the elevator occupants? In this case there were a few that pushed the total calculations up quickly. 😬

I was working as a security guard on a college campus. We got a call at night that someone was stuck in an elevator in a 3 story building. Dispatch notified me to check it out. I happened to be on the third floor in the building. I got to the elevator door and yelled to who ever was in the elevator. I got a response but then realized it was someone outside the elevator on the first floor. Finally the person inside the elevator answered. I asked the person if there was a red button on the floor selection panel. They said yes. I said is it pushed in. They said yes. I told them to pull it out. They did and the elevator started moving again. Problem solved.

I'm lucky. Our elevator has a keyhole in the front of the door. If it gets stuck, maintenance can use a key to unlock it.
the call button didn't work for me, n. Dallas TX- surgical center lovers / 75 SB. I was able to rescue myself by pulling myself thru a 10-12 inch gap of the door opening. And the elevator was also between floors so I had to lift myself over half my height to reach that opening of the stuck doors. About 3 or so seconds after i pulled my feet thru those doors, they shut. And then the elevator moved to a different level (between floors) and remained stuck for over 6 hours. put in my notice after working there for 2 weeks. Elevator ptsd now. And that dr made everyone quit that was supposed to train me.
Slumlords rule in the Bronx, elevators probably haven't been inspected in ages, but still got a certificate, that's how it rolls.

I remember the Chinese delivery man that got stuck in the elevator at Tracy Towers in the Bronx.. he was there the whole weekend.. They never put a notice that it was out of service.. So traumatizing.. I think I would have snapped..😵💫😬

I got stuck in the elevator and some lady in my building told me I was. I got stuck in the elevator with her and she told me to shut up and stop acting like a baby. That’s what happens when your landlord is cheap.😂😂😂😂

Absolutely ridiculous and a poor design with these stupid death traps. Those poor people. So stupid how you have to call the fire department instead of the elevator people to get them out of there. It should be a simple process if power goes out the door opens hydraulically or with a key , not hammering it with pipes and bars. So stupid.!!!!! I can’t believe the amount of fat people that came out of that elevator.
