Well, looks like its time for a Twin Peaks rewatch
Just played Alan Wake 2 and it's 95% TP the return.
@interlinkedMedia Oh absolutely, you can definitely tell the Remedy and Sam Lake had TP in the back of their minds the whole time they were developing AW2. I finished it a few weeks back, what a masterpiece of a game

Yup! As soon as February 23 comes along!
Well, winter is certainly the time for the annual rewatch. You grab a blanket, donuts and coffe and inmerse yourself in the universe of Twin Peaks. But it's best to wait until February 24 th
"David Lynch is very much about wood." Dead.
With dead you mean that you found that phrase so funny that you laughed so hard, couldn’t breathe and almost died during this clip? Man that sounds scary! Are you ok?
@@mountaincruiser817 It's been ten days and he still hasn't responded, I'm pretty sure he actually did laugh until he died ☠️ spooky as frick..
Guys, I guess he died and currently we’re seeing his dream.
are you okay man
The fact MacLachlan did not win the Best Actor Emmy for TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN is one of the biggest mistakes in the award's history.
Absolutely accurate.
I could watch him paint a barn, then watch him watching the paint dry. Always been a fan
It sucked compared to the original 😢
@@teslagoth94010 iq take
@@teslagoth9401 - It was definitely different. But it was also kinda the same. Work of genius, IMHO.
The feeling someone gets from watching Twin Peaks the first time is truly an extraordinary, One of a kind experience
I watched the first season in one sitting, I had never seen the show and a friend had it all on tape. I couldn't stop watching.
It's kinda like the tv show lost. Great in the beginning with a shit ending.
Never even heard of it, gonna watch it now and report back.
@@mtgamateurnightI keep forgetting the ending because it’s not an ending but a beginning. So I like to rewatch the series from time to time
I was 12. It was 1992.
Both the original series and the return is some of the best TV ever made. I hope Lynch makes another movie or series, I really miss his presence in today's largely unoriginal entertainment landscape.
Man, I really missed Michael Ontkean as Harry in season 3. Would have loved to seen them reunited one more time.
Sad he retired from acting before season 3 started filming or else I bet he’d totally come back
Went here for my 40th. Unbelievable. I stayed at “The Great Northern” and ate a bunch of “damn fine pie.” It was unbelievable seeing the falls for the first time in person. Went to the log and the RR also. It’s such a magical place. I can’t wait to go back.
i want to go! was it really like the show?
@@adlibby6448 Yes! I loved it!!
Came to comment the same. Visited Snoqualmie and North Bend for the first time in September. The falls and the RR were like a disneyworld for grown ups. A dream come true.
I live in north west WA and I still haven't been!!! I plan to go this spring
@@TurtleSoop haha its like people who have lived in San Francisco all their life and never been to Alcatraz.
The Return was one of the most powerful pieces of film in the last decade. It really stuck with me long after it aired.
Wow imagine how lucky you would feel if while visiting the Twin Peaks falls you ran into Agent Dale Cooper. I'd freak the hell out personally
It would be the most surreal moment for sure
That was lovely. I'd watch hours of Peaks behind the scenes material. Hell, I have watched hours of it. I would happily watch more!
I moved to the Seattle area after becoming a Twin Peaks fan and have visited Twedes Cafe (aka the RR Diner) and Snoqualmie Falls many times and always get the oddest feeling of deja vu whenever I go.
Same. It was incredible coming from the UK in 1994 and walking into a fairytale movie set. The Pacific Northwest is absolutely stunning.
It all was "really something." Thank you all who made The Return one of the greatest achievements in television history. So many new and interesting characters, so many jaw-dropping scenes, and so much brilliant dialog. Great video Variety.
Really hoping for a 4K Box Set with all episodes in 4K HDR and the movies, just all in one in the best quality possible.
I finally got around to watching Twin Peaks a month ago. One of the best things I've ever seen!
Yessss! Congrats!
Watching The Return for the third time now. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Hopefully, the brilliant mastermind who's David Lynch will direct an additional film prior to retiring!
Diane Ladd may have indicated that something is coming from David in her new interview with Vulture : " David Lynch is a genius. I think Mr. David Lynch is gonna stand up and do a new movie soon. I got that feeling. Hm, I can’t tell his business. But let me just say I just feel like the angels are talking to him. I don’t know everything for sure, but instinct says, “C’mon, David, here we go. You’re not through yet. You’ve got some destiny yet"
Only recently hopped onto the bandwagon of twin peaks after hearing about how special it is since I was a kid, at 26 finally watched it and it didn't disappoint. It's incredible, unique, and instantly became a classic to me in 1 watch, it's a warm blanket for me in ways already as ill put on season 1 often just to have in the background just for comfort. Love David lynch, frost, and kyle
So happy the younger generations are getting to watch it, it truly is something different and magical ❤
@TheOriginalBeverlyMarsh movies and TV are huge for me, my dream is to be a director, so I consider watching movies and TV as studying just as much as entertainment and honestly david lynch is just such a fun and unique director it's always a pleasure watching what he's created. Hopefully he creates again soon.
I’m so thankful I lived in North Bend. It’s a magical place.
Greatest show of all time. I can’t relate to people that can’t appreciate this magical dark comedic work of art. Just brilliant!
What a game changing show. One of the best ever.
More Twin Peaks please
The opening feature-length episode is one of the greatest films in and of itself
MacLachlan's always had a great voice and cadence but it seems even more resonant with age. Would love to hear some narrations or audio works from the man
i love kyle maclachlan with my entire soul
So awesome ! Twin Peaks is my all time favourite show, I hope to visit north bend Washington some day and sight see all the places from the show and try some coffee and cherry pie from the double R
I live so close 😅
I was 1 year old when this aired, but I literally JUST finished watching season 2 as I write this and now I'm starting The Return. It's been so good so far. Love the characters, the setting, the surreal atmosphere at times... everything about it, really.
Imagine running into Agent Dale Cooper at the falls.
More of this! Love Twin Peaks
I’ve never seen Twin Peaks. I keep coming across things about it. I’m going to have to watch it.
It’s worth it you’ll love it
Dude watching Twin Peaks for the first time and getting to the part where they’re all at the bar with a girl singing and then for a split second everyone disappears and the mysterious man shows up is one of the greatest moments of tv for me.
What season and episode are you on now
@@Chde8xuI actually finished all of it, including season 3.
But I have to rewatch seasons 2 and 3 cause it’s foggy.
Another great moment was the nuke episode in season 3.
Big big love ❤ huge fan of twin peaks here, so surprised to see this.
Kyle's voice is so deep I always get whiplash
I loved Twin Peaks. The music, the acting, story was so immersing. The ending of each episode was so special.
Always happy to see this show get more and more of the love and attention it deserves
Funny, started re-watching Twin Peaks right about 3-4 days ago, and this drops in my feed!
3:23 Never saw 'Twin Peaks'. Came for the landscape (and the rustic interiors!); delighted by the llama...
Love twin peaks! Great content!!
Kyle is the best!
Loved, loved, loved this show. Did I say I loved this show.
Imagine going to Snoqualmie as a Twin Peaks
fan and just randomly seeing Agent Dale Cooper chilling by the falls.
The Return Part 2…?
If David Lynch is too old now to record his daily weather reports, I don't think we'll ever see him direct again sadly.
@@theworld1461Maybe he isn't recording his daily weather forecast because he is working on something else that requires his full attention and time. 🤞🤞🤞
Right behind me on the wall in my office, I have a giant oil painting on canvas of an extreme close up of the small man from another place's creepy face, with the red curtains from the red room behind him. I have to cover it up when i'm on a zoom call and it makes the facial recognition for my work go haywire.
Excellent! There’s nostalgia up in the air!
This smells like a fourth season coming to me
Oh, I wish, but...
The way The Return ended? I'm not so sure about that. Feels pretty definitively over.
Yes, please!
It would be a dream come true, but probably not gonna happen 😢
Clean place. Reasonably priced!
That shot of Jacoby used to illustrate Lynchs cinematic eye was taken from an episode that wasn't directed by him. Nice one Variety!!!! There were so many Lynch shots they could have used instead...
We need u back Coop!
Damn right.
Started watching few weeks ago, was familiar with much of Lynchs work and put it off as I assumed it would be too weird / abstract. That’s maybe 10%, the rest is incredible humour, slapstick and romance.
V cool show, Dale Coopers sincerity is incredibly wholesome. The subplots are amusing, Nadines superhuman strength & vegetable Leo provide many literal LOL moments. V unique series, a must see.
The Return is the full on Lynch weirdfest tbf. The original series caught a magical mix of genres that makes it so special and unique.
Kyle MacLachlan really seems like such a completely different person from Cooper! That’s the sign of a great actor!
There's nothing like it. We were groupies. Absolutely loved it!
glad to be alive in the 90s to live that TP magic which remained inside to this day. Imagine netflix or appletv trying to repeat such a TV experience now
Any dream sequence on "The Sopranos" owes a huge debt to Twin Peaks.
A damn fine new utube video
Legendary show, one of the all time bests
The Return is brilliant
Kyle is a national treasure
Love him and the show
How tf does youtube know i just rewatched
Amazing video. Are you guys doing one on the hotel from The Shining? 🙏
Haven't been inside but been there and Mount Si a few times.
Thank you
Imagine going there to enjoy the view, as a fan of the show, and run directly into Dale Cooper, Id just die 😂❤
Muad'dib!!
We need season 4 so badly, The Return is the single greatest season of tv ever made.
the best piece of serialized fiction ever broadcast on screen imo
Twin Peaks means everything to me 🪵
god i love this show
I've been there. A large house, made of wood, surrounded by trees. The house is filled with many rooms, each alike, but occupied by different souls night after night.
Please do another series (season), please.
Can someone please tell me where to buy THAT SAME TYPE OF COSTUME like the Cooper wears in the first two seasons of the series? Some people say that is an Armani suit, but what do i search for...
Really hoping for a lil help with this, thank you in advance!
So cool
The Return was a dream come true.
Best show/movie ever.
Season 4 will premiere 25 years after season 3.
I regret not stopping in Snoqualmie Falls on my way driving from Seattle to New York State (moving back east).
Anybody, what year do you think it was?
❤ TV movie of my childhood
Twin Peaks is still the best TV series ever.
Love you Coop🥹
Stayed there many times when I lived in Western WA. It is a shame that they added the gift shop. The old diner was much better and authentic. The whole area is an absolutely stunning place to visit. I hope I get to go back one day.
Literally just finished twin peaks the return
Wish there was a blu ray version of the full screen
the Twin Peaks: The Television Collection [Blu-ray] is 4:3, you get the original full frame, the whole vision of David Lynch. You mean you wish for a cropped and zoomed in frame version to fill up a 16:9 TV? if so, some blu rays players have that option
@@h0laPlaneta ooh i didnt know it was cropped and zoomed, thanks for letting me know👌🏻
The true Twin Peaks is south New York, Troy in between Massachusetts and Connecticut in that area. That’s where it’s from.
I will admit the return didnt completely do it for me. a lot of unnecessary content and wasted scenes. but I did enjoy the last episode quite a bit. the dougie stuff was just too much. this just didnt have the feel of the original series so i cant see myself watching it all the time like i can with the original. however Kyle was pretty amazing and should have received an Emmy
Murder at Teal's Pond: Hazel Drew and the Mystery That Inspired Twin Peaks Paperback - January 1, 2022
Orson hodge 🥹
2:23 I always thought this was intentional to show that the FBI guys are kind of cut from the same cloth of being weird sort of smiling Americana clones of eachother. Like Wholesome sort of socially inept but charming Operators.
Hotels on screen? Shining, Grand Budapest Hotel
"David Lynch is very mich about wood." So he respects wood??
Yes, just like Larry David
Maybe some didn't know that Alan Wake 2 locations look like Twin Peaks. It feels like you walk in same buildings. If you're can't play it at least watch playthrough on YT.
Season 3 wouldve been amazing with a foucsed tight 6 ep with much more coop.
Could you imagine, finally making the pilgrimage out to Twin Peaks, checking out the falls, looking up and seeing Coop standing right there next to you?!!!
Talk about “both wonderful and strange”!!!
🏔🦉🏔
How's Annie? How's ANNIE? How's AAANIE?!!
When I actually visited the Salish lodge and the waterfall, I found it really ofhf putting how much the damming and machinery in the water right at the top of the falls for the power plant REALLY detracted from their beauty. You don't really see it on Twin Peaks but it MAJORLY spoils the natural beauty of the falls. It didn't help, I guess, that I was there when the water levels were relatively low.
Kyle should of played James Bond. Smooth, cool and old Hollywood. Who thinks the same.
You can see how much alan wake is influenced by this show, and a lot other modern horror games.
Still the great actor Kyle
Let it go white #KyleMacLachlan!
The first season was everything. Why some dumb ABC execs dared to tell these artists where to take the story baffles me.
I liked TP The Return better
But let’s be honest: True Detective is better
