I agree as a german dortmund fan I can only congrat leverkusen.They completely won the league in style. So much fun to watch and I am pretty excited to see them perform in champions league next season with Xabi as coach. One of the most exciting teams in europe right now + they keep the key players together and will have plenty of money from winning the league. Xabi was a gentleman and supremely smart as a player, and it is also on full display as a coach.
Ever since it started to look like Leverkusen could win it this year, I was hoping for it to happen to honour all the old heroes that Leverkusen had in their (ultimately unsuccessful) era on the late 90s/early 2000s.
The fact that Alonso mentions the managers back then (Daum and Toppmöller) in the very first sentence of this interview says so much about him.

People tend to focus on this season alone but what an incredible thing he and the players have done since last season. They rose steadily from 17th to 6th place and then following season, improved on it, kept the momentum to the point where they won the league UNBEATEN and still in Europa. I really hope he is the one to replace Ancelotti like Perez is planning.
