She was not performing, the way you would expect. She was singing the way a star should. She let the song speak for her talent.
When Angelina performs it’s like she flips a switch. She transforms from a shy, sweet and adorable little girl to that of a supremely confident, self assured, seasoned, mature adult singer whom happens to be a consummate professional. When she finishes her performance she switches back to being the sweet, adorable and shy young child that she is. She is one of those supremely gifted talents that has the very rare ability to channel the music and the singing style of the original artists. It is quite astonishing and breath taking to see and hear such a young and immature child have the hyper sensitivity, feel, understanding, insight and intuition to be able to precisely express the passion and emotion the lyrics call for. For me, looking at Angelina eyes and facial expressions when she performs demonstrates the unique and rare ability to allow her mind to enter into a different realm or special place. She then becomes the music.
I love to see the reactions of people watching Angelina for the first time. Some are wild, some are subdued. Nearly all are impressed.
What I like is that they did let her look like a kid at her age. Not slabbing on make up or arranging her hair in some adult way.
What I like is her voice. Now at 16, she looks like a young woman, but her voice has even gotten better. And we can expect it to improve even more as she matures. She is a rare gifted talent.
This was the first time I listened to Angelina!! And never stopped since then. She is the future of music already happening!! Cheers!!

Danny, I'm a 74 yr old musician and Angelina gives me chills and goosebumps almost with the over 100 videos that I've seen. She is a once in a lifetime talent. She has covered many of the greatest singers beautifully, and yes, her version of I Put a Spell on You is mind blowing. And now at age 17, she has released an EP of 6 original songs which are fantastic. Great reaction video. I look forward to seeing more.

That american genre of music is so profundly and clearly rooted in the deep of Angelina's soul that, by only watching her, we can rightfully declare emphatically that she is jazz, moreover, that she is music, like one of the judges said so adequately.

Angelina sets a new healthy trend with her unique jazz-influenced style in this world of hip-hop, dance music and electronic music.
My grandson recently suggested I should listen to some stuff from the genre "mumble Rap". Unclear what defines it, near as I can tell, any rapper whose had some success gets categorized there.

@@lengould9262 I did some research. It's rather the other way round. There are many famous rappers of the previous generation such as Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Ice Cube... who oppose the idea of 'mumble rap'. 'Mumble rap' is often used as a derogatory term and refers to a generation of young rappers who seemingly rap with simple lyrics, lo-fi beats and autotune. These young rappers got famous through the usage of the booming platform 'SoundCloud', where everybody can upload their own songs in a 'do-it-yourself' manner, no professional studio required. Therefore 'mumble rap' is also called 'SoundCloud rap' of Generation Z. It's less a genre than a movement, just like the punk movement back then. But today in 2020/2021 many think of 'SoundCloud rap' already being in decline, since many of the leading artists of this style died or they're sitting in jail.
Angelina has even done an EDM song, Above The Water. Even though I don't listen to that genre, I like it a lot & think it is very good.
I think Angelina's version is kinda like Ella and Louis Armstrongs...sublime!
Very nice reaction together. Enjoyed your comments on the Barefoot Angel. Couple of notes of interest, Angelina's Mom is Norwegian and her Dad is Swedish. Her Mom's parents are Mery Zamani a famous Iranian painter/poet and her mom's father was Japanese. Angelina's Grandma Mery is a huge influence in her life and exposed her to Jazz and a very early age. Her original song Million Miles is written for her one Grandfather who passed away in 2019 to whom she was very close also.

1. An important thing to remember about AJ is that she owns the rights to everything she sings and with aquired permissions for covers of other singers.
2. She refused to sign for a record deal through AGT and they relented and invited her to sing anyway.
3. She began singing at 18 months and due to her grandmothers influence, she was drawn to and fell in love with jazz and blues music.
4. She has been arranging most, if not all of her music performances since she was 8 years old.
5. Currently in 2022 she still performs barefoot, sews her own clothes, (the cloth is designed by her grandmother) and she stands 6 feet tall at 15 yeats old!
6. We all hope to enjoy her performances for many years to come.
7. BTW I'm 80 and have been involved privately in music since age 7.

Angelina has over 130 cover and original songs on CZcams that you can find on Rusty shackleford's homepage on CZcams. it is a chronological list. These consists of many jazz and classic songs as well as a few more current selections. At the beginning of the list are her originals. I hope you find many that will give you chills. If you'd like to jump ahead a little bit to age 10 I would recommend I'm still holding out for you, and age 12, her original called Shield, indoor concert.

Thank you for expanding the AJ fan club throughout your household, and to a DJ no less. By the way, have you checked yet whether your dog can sing? Vera. I have seen a couple of reaction videos where AJ's voice sends dogs into bit of howling state. Anything that comes out of Norway, worth checking whether it can hold a tune. Angelina's vocal progression from age 5 to age 8 was unbelievable.

Yeah I don't really believe in re-incanation but AJ got me questioning my reality with her early performances :-) Maybe my favorite artist I've come to know through this channel I believe is from NZ and it's Aldous Harding.
