  • Bryan Hayes, Jeff O’Neill and Jamie McLennan discuss the Toronto Raptors losing skid, different types of jerseys that fans buy, why there shouldn’t be a preference for the Toronto Maple Leafs first round playoff opponent and more. The boys are joined by Monumental Sports Network Capitals analyst and former NHLer Craig Laughlin to discuss Alex Ovechkin’s scoring prowess down the stretch, can he catch Wayne Gretzky’s all-time goal record next year, the Capitals unexpected playoff push this season and more. They also discuss Hayes’ lasagna and whether or not he might’ve accidentally revealed major information on who makes it.

Obviously getting rid of Kuznetsov/Backstrom being done/Mantha. Oshie/Pacioretty being old.
Next year they might push younger guys on team or sign/trade for a #1/2 Center/Wingers.
I don't see them making playoffs but definitely being creative/putting better guys around Ovi.
    Would they sign Reinhart,Guentzel,Lindholm,Teravainen,Henrique,Duchene,Monahan,Toffoli,Tarasenko,?
Maybe trade for Dubois with retention/sweetener?
Leonard has few more years NCAA,Cristall.even if young guys arnt ready they seem to always have Russians maybe Barabanov,Trenin, lyubushkin,Podkolzin find a way Washington.

Ovechkin is the greatest goal scorer ever. Got screwed by 1.5 lockouts and a over hyped flu.
I hope he gets to 1000.

@peterbrown1435 when you adjust for eras, ovechkins 65 goal seasons is better than the time Gretzky scored 92. It's second all time only behind Hull. For Era adjusted stats 9 of his seasons are in the top 20 all time

he easily would be chasing 1,000 right now yah if the 2012-2013, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons had been full seasons. In 2012-2013 he had 32 goals which would've put him around 64 goals in a full 2 game year and had 48 in 2019-2020 which wouldve put him at 57-58 in a full 82 game year and had 24 in 2020-2021 which would've put him at prolly 45-46 goals in an 82 game campaign to put him at around 885-890 right now.

As a Canadian it'll be awesome when he breaks it because he deserves it. Ovi is the greatest goal scorer in history already, arbitrary record set in the worst era of goaltending or not. Top 10 all time player and the best power forward in the history of the game.

April 2025 at the earliest, but most likely November or December of 2025. Not DEFINITELY by October. You're assuming his career pace of 0.60. His pace is down and will likely continue downward next year and the year after.
