      Thanks for sharing. I didn't ride the 125, but I think for anything slow, the 125x will be a lot more difficult to ride because the rider needs to stay on the pipe all the time and feather/slip the clutch all the time. There is no gear low enough to go slow and stay high in the revs. right/wrong? Thanks!

    It's so hard to call on this debate, a 125 is fun & exhilarating, a pro rider had to be in athletic condition to ride competitively, you can be more relaxed on that issue as a 4's power is more direct? Arm pump is more a factor with a 4 braking into corners... I think it's down to the individual who will throw their leg over whatever they feel best for them, im no athlete, but I'd choose a 2 stroke for the enjoyment factor, happy riding my friends 👍

    Show don't tell. Most people who have had no exposure to the advertisement/marketing arms of industry and the complex, non-disclosed legal cobwebbing that comes into play when you're dealing with manufacturers won't understand how truely slick, honest, and ballsy this video is... I was ready for a complete "I think both are so wonderful..." bullshit fest, but instead Dirt Bike took a new trail here. What they SAY in the video is completely predictable and hits all the required marks, expresses all the required opinions, and uses all the correct terms that have been laid down by the factory people who control the "Spin" they want laid down, and the rules that the press needs to follow, such as what concepts will be pushed, and what terms, and sizzle-wordy slogans need to be in the copy to keep the right people happy. Then everyone signs a nice non-disclosure agreement so that we can all go on thinking that the relationship between manufacturers and magazines/race announcers/other influential people works the way we thought it worked when we were 10 years old. What makes this video so different and so ballsy is that what Dirt Bike isn't supposed to say... they SHOW you instead. They make it very obvious!

    I know originally the 125 2T and 250 4T where meant to be competitors (same with 250 2T and 450 2T) but the development $$ has been spent on the 4T for a long time now so the power on them has gotten greater and greater. I wonder if they should open up the categories to slightly larger 2T to close the gap. Like up to 150 and 300? Those displacements exist in other makes and some are adding injection etc.

      They won't compare it because it is NOT a lateral comparison to set up a 250 2t vs. 250 4t. Everyone knows that a 2t engine outputs about double the power of a 4t...It's basic auto/mechanical engineering and physics. The 250 2t would dust it from output ponies & power/weight ratio equaling greater maneuverability/handling. :) I know I sound like a douche, but I am just laying out the facts on the table. I'm not trying to be offensive at all mate. 125 2ts vs 250 4t & 250 2ts vs 450 4ts are the standard. 👍👌✌🤘

Case in point within the next 10 years the four-stroke will be inferior to the electric dirt bike... the big blue elephant in the room is the 2-stroke could be designed to be equally as competitive they've been snuffed out and stayed primitive competing against Cutting Edge ever-changing technology of the 4-stroke designers certainly the 2-stroke could be made a broadband power range torque throughout the whole range the possibility certainly there

    So to a noob in the dirtbike world if the yz250fx and yz125x are direct competitors at the same level within yamaha then where does the wr250f land?

    • @GrowingDownUnder
      @GrowingDownUnder Před 4 lety

      wr 250 is basically the street legal version of the yz, has more modifications to make it street legal. But YZ has more power and more torque, made more for racing and offroad where the WR been modified to be more suitable for the road, can do offroad too though. WR would be good for something like enduro racing where as YZ better for track racing & fmx. The competitor for the WR 250 would be the KTM exc 300 or the husqvarna te 300 (or FE can't remember what it's called)

    • @magicferra877
      @magicferra877 Před 4 lety

      @@GrowingDownUnder the WR250 has to be compared with the 250 4 strokes, not bigger engines nor 2 strokes except for the 125. That's because its bottom torque isn't enough, and the whole structure of the WR make it more for tracks as you said. KTM, Husqvarna, Sherco, Beta.. All the other European brands are for paths, while Japanese brands are a bit more suitable for tracks

    • @GrowingDownUnder
      @GrowingDownUnder Před 4 lety

      @@magicferra877 WR is more suitable for road but it can do offroad too, but it's made to do both. Where as the YZ is made for only offroad use, that's why you can't compare WR to the YZ because they are different and in completely different category of bike. WR is a dual sport and the YZ is supermoto

    • @magicferra877
      @magicferra877 Před 4 lety +1

      @@GrowingDownUnder here in Europe the WR is suitable for roads too as you said, but its base is clearly the motocross version (the YZ). That means it's an enduro-converted motocross, and not a pure enduro bike which has different specs. I'm talking about the WR 250-F, not the dual-sport one (much cheaper but worse)

    • @jamesg5059

      WR250f is a green sticker 250fx with lights and a fan, easily and cheaply upgradable to full fx spec. Don’t confuse it with the dual sport wr250r.
