  • Are you having troubles with a lagging preview window? Chances are, your PC isn't coping with the amount of information that needs to be processed simultaneously.
    No big deal! You can quickly fix the issue by skipping frames while previewing the video. It won't affect the outcome in any way, just make the preview process more efficient.
    The new VSDC 6.3.8 version allows you to skip every second frame or skip two frames during the preview. Download it right now: bit.ly/2U85omg

    Massive improvement, thanks! Now just need to find a way to apply changes to several objects at the same time (e.g. highlight several scenes and be able to apply the same settings to them in one go)

    I have a core i7, 8th Gen, 24GB of RAM & a Radeon RX 5500XT 4G & my 4k/30 FPS video is still ridiculously choppy even with every 2 frames skipped. Previews are annoying. When I try to overlay two 4K videos for different camera comparison productions it becomes almost impossible to edit videos.
    I haven't tried 4K, 60fps, 120fps or 240 fps!! But I am not optimistic.
    Any other suggestions besides, an unobtanium computer configuration?

    • @VSDCFreeVideoEditor
      @VSDCFreeVideoEditor  Před 4 lety

      Hello, when you are working with a high quality/high-resolution Project/4K, it demands a huge number of processor resources and affects the preview anyway.
      In the new version 6.4.2. you can also disable subpixel accuracy in the player during preview and uncheck optimization: prnt.sc/s37xf4

      @@VSDCFreeVideoEditor Tried that, no difference, I am using the pro version of the app. The preview is still rediculously choppy. The data files are on an SSD to improve access but the main app is still running off a traditional high end hard drive. What other suggestions do you have?

      @@clicktrackcam That's not the solution!
      Premiere Pro would stutter badly on the job it is reporting and the machine configuration it claims to have.
      One other thing the recommendations given should have some effect, however small it would be felt and he says it didn't make any difference.
      So the two likely options are:
      He doesn't have this machine setup that he thinks he has;
      He's lying, wanting to make fun of it.
      I would bet on the second option!

    • @coffeelover1456

      Two tools help a lot in editing in this regard:
      Proxy version of the files (automatically created or used manually with the ability to replace with the originals keeping the edit changes);
      Rendering Preview (there are several scenarios that lower resolution files won't work and having timeline rendering (full or partial) is the only solution (it's a sensational resource and really needed)

      Sometimes a preview window may lag. Lagging is resulted from the fact that the editor is processing all changes made. It doesn’t affect the resulted video.
      We also recommend previewing the result on the timeline by moving the cursor with arrow keys. It doesn’t contain audio but loads the processor less.
      You can try to reduce the resolution of your project to make processing faster. But you’ll have to resize all objects manually. www.screencast.com/t/jG6zHMmim
