- When you’re working with high-quality footage, lagging is expected even if you have a decent machine, let alone low-spec computers.
To help you with that particular pain point, we’ve added a few more tools starting version 6.4.5. In this video, we'll review all of them and show you how to get rid of this annoying problem.

I never had this stupid lagging issue until I updated my VSDC and now nothing makes it smooth. Very disappointed in VSDC now. I tried every single combination possible and there is absolutely no change, every time it transitions to a new clip it stalls for 2-3 seconds and I don't get to the see the ONLY important part of clip merging. Older versions of VSDC had absolutely no issue previewing on my PC in 1080p and now I don't even get an improvement in 144p...

my videos are pretty smooth in the preview, but when it transitions to another clip it lags for a few seconds. Does this method apply for my problem?

The small comment at 5:48 should be at the start of the video. Everything prior to 5:48 will have no effect until Hardware Acceleration is applied to the/every file.
The default VSDC behaviour should be to for each file's HW Acceleration = "Use application settings"

Good day. I have a problem with my zoom effect. In edit mode i make the start of the zoom very fast. When i play preview, the speed of the zoom is right. But after I render it, the final product, the zoom is slow. Why is this happening?
Same, My VSDC editor keeps crashing whenever I input a file that’s larger than 10 minutes or when I’ve exceeded 10 minutes in video length. Please help :( it used to work fine but now I can barely use it.

The perfect video I wanted, but it is not working for me. When I am editing a 1080p clip, the preview is breaking. I have all the requirements for VSDC to run.
Listening in mono through my phone speaker, that background music is drowning out your voice in parts.
Anyway, another tip for making the preview run more smoothly is to turn off some of your layers temporarily while editing sections that don't need them displayed. I find videos that run at 60fps cause my computer to lag, especially if I am mixing them with 30fps content. Use the eye shaped icon to the left of a layer to turn off / on each layer. You can turn them back on when you are ready to do the final export. If your final project is to be at 30fps, you could convert any 60fps content to 30fps before loading it into the project. Disabling the audio track for certain tracks may help as well. Click the object in the timeline and choose "Don't use audio" from the properties window.

Trying to use a mask pencil to hide a chair in a video. The shape doesn't cut it. Don't really know how to remove my chair so I can appear to be floating. I do have an over lay with the chair gone. Also why does my green screen chroma have a slight green hue around it? Thx thro me a response!

What abou video is in extreme quality (very big file) and HDD cannot read data realtime? I cant fix this. Other editors creates new smaller copies of videos for editing. Can VSDC do this?

May I confirm , if I change my 'Do Not Skip Frames' in player to other options, it won't skip the frames I'll be working with and the frames would only be skipped during preview when editing, am I right??? @VSDC Free Video Editor

Lets say I have a video loaded and it plays fine, then I cut 2 seconds of that video and edit something out or in, then playback and it completely skips on preview during that part and when exported, why does it do this, I have tried all options. Also how can I make the preview size bigger? I don't want fullscreen detached thing, I just want to increase the main preview window and I can't find anywhere how to do it. Should be a slider there really.

No, it doesn’t affect the resulted video.
Any tips for managing text box lag? I dropped 4 pages of text into a text box - more for a visual scrolling effect than to display the information. The moment I started editing the text VCSD lag quickly ramped from bad to frozen. I have an old 2011 rig but it was a high end gaming laptop and I have had no other lag.

@@VSDCFreeVideoEditor yes, I have 2 1920x1080 videos 30fps. I also have 2 pictures, don't know resolution but not big - they are from free AI art - they nerf the free pic res.
I have 16Gb RAM - I know some software can only use 8 Gb in Win7, not sure how to tell how much VCSD has access to. CPU 2.2 ghz quad. 3Gb GPU, & SSD.
Could you please check how much free RAM your computer has while the program is running, especially when you encounter the issues you described?
@@VSDCFreeVideoEditor I didn't want to deal with lag for that text effect, but I have now added more video (i previously had 2 place holder videos) in the form of many short clips. Now, I am again having trouble with text. I'm just trying to add 3 short text boxes with glitch effect to the end. The interface is lagging a lot each time I add/edit objects, and the preview is slow to the point of useless.
Task manager is averaging memory use at 1.5-2 Gigs, but I have seen peaks upto 4.1 gigs. I seem to recall from setting up a game that Windows 7 has problems using more than 4 Gigs for one program.
I changed memory priority to "real time" with no effect.
I just started exporting. I have similar text at the beginning of video and strangely, the export seems to be going much faster than the preview of the new text, and I think the preview is able to use video acceleration while the free version only exports using the CPU.
I tried everything but it still don't works. I get lag when i play on a cut in the video.

good morning vsdc team I have an awesome idea for you its: make an animation window in the video editor when you can make an animation in the editor and add it you want to make a timeline a drawing door and the bone tool and too see the animation software like adobe animate and synfig and the other and see how to make an animation software
I'm pretty sure at this point that my issue isn't with my hardware or my settings, but that it's a software issue. I have a green screen of a small explosion that I split down the middle of it. and whenever the preview reaches the part where the explosion is split, both on exit and entry, it lags the preview for a full second. No matter if I have a powerful computer or if I have my settings to the absolute lowest, it lags and makes it hard to pin point the exact moment where I should place the explosion. The moment the clip isn't cut anymore, it doesn't lag at all, even on highest quality preview!

@@VSDCFreeVideoEditor I did try but nothing removed the lag from the preview (it *doesn't* lag in the export). Instead I found out that I can simply make the green screen invisible when i don't want it anymore instead of cutting it, which removes the lag.
With further testing, it seems the issue is that if you cut a video that has the effect of removing the color green (like for the explosion green screen I was talking about), then previewing exactly where it should cut out and back in lags for a second or so. I have also tried with another computer and this exact issue seems to be happening again.

I suddenly started having a really bad preview lagging issue today after never having had an issue before. I'm trying to edit small videos I've already edited in the past so I know they should be working. Playing the preview just freezes the whole editor so it's unusable right now :c I tried installing the update etc, didn't help. Hopefully this helps because I have a lot of editing to do today!

VSDC is crashing. The video is in mp4 and it is just 2 seconds. I just want to copy paste and make it a 20 min video but it crashes every time I try to paste.

Have you moved the files used in your project?
If yes, the editor wouldn't be able to find them. You have to relink all objects manually.

It just happens when my project gets laggy or when Im editing with many videos in my project and when I save project sometimes it says failed to save and check your storage even I have 30+Gb free space and I thinks thats how my videos and images gets jumbled and gets unlinked, so I need to save and save until it gets fine

Hello, it depends on the resolution of the source file. When you resize a picture, its quality can degrade to some extent, because you change the total number of pixels in this image.

I have VSDC pro version 6.9.3.370. My project behaves strangely. I have cut it down to two clips to try to narrow down the problem. Both clips were taken with the same camera about 5 minutes apart, very similar subject/motion, same resolution. The first clip previews with no problem but the second clip lags very badly, keeps stopping, etc. It doesn't matter which order the clips are played in, the bad clip is always bad and the good one always good.
I went through all the suggestions here but didn't notice any change.
I will pack the project and send it but I thought I'd post here in case anyone else has the same issue.
I found the problem while I was packing the project. The first video has a frame rate of 30fps and the second one 240fps. I must have accidentally set the iphone to slo-mo for the second video so it recorded at a high frame rate. When the video is imported into vsdc, it sets the video to run at normal speed at a high frame rate rather than slo-mo at 30fps. The high frame rate is too much for my hardware to handle.
Is there a way in VSDC to convert this video into 30fps at normal speed?
