■Aka-shiso■
Aka-shiso (red shiso, red perilla) is a kind of herb only available from June to mid-July. In Japan, many people use it to make umeboshi (pickled plums) or juice. In my home, we make a lot of aka-shiso syrup during the summer and enjoy it for a year.
■Ingredients of Shiso Juice■
600g aka-shiso (red perilla)
4000ml water
1kg sugar
50-100g citric acid (depends if you like sour)
#shisojuice - Jak na to + styl

Can I replace sparkling water with Sprite? Will this change make a big difference? Last time I tried Sprite with another type of syrup the taste of Sprite became too overwhelming
I have never tried it, but as the syrup is sweet itself, I think you’d better not mix it with sweetened beverage. As you mentioned, it will also mask the flavor of shiso 🤔
