  • Here's another terrarium build. I used Begonia Rex, Radiator plant (Peperomia Fosteri), Moss and Lawn Pennywort. I also used Ferns since I feel that a closed terrarium is incomplete without one.
    I laid down a false bottom with stone chips and poured in my terrarium substrate over it. I skipped the mesh barrier this time.
    Here is the link to my terrarium substrate mix video.

    I misted the soil lightly, added some driftwood for hardscape and proceeded with planting. Once the planting was done I added a few pieces of lava rocks in the foreground for detailing. Finally I gave the terrarium a thorough misting, added some springtails and closed it up.

    I absolutely loved this video! The Begonia has brought a pop of color to the jar. The positioning of the twigs was great. Loved to see the ducklings. It took a while for me to realize they were eating the plants in your storage box. And when you positioned the tiniest of the rocks, I burst out laughing. It made my day. Thanks for the video! Have a great holiday weekend!

    I love this one. But then, I like them all. Question, do you ever use anything but moss for ground cover?

      Thank you. Haven’t found other alternatives besides plants like pennyworts or hydrocotyles for terrestrial setups. For aquatic setups there are quite a few options. If you come across any that works let me know. Will try it out.

    amazing, can I ask you why my terrarium has always water vapor inside it

    • @TheUrbanNemophilist
      @TheUrbanNemophilist  Před 2 lety +1

      Condensation is normal. It is an indication of the water cycle within. However it should not be too much and should not be happening all the time. Should clear up by afternoon and start again by evening. Also depends on the climatic conditions in your region.

    How come you could skip the mesh barrier on this build?

    • @TheUrbanNemophilist
      @TheUrbanNemophilist  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Its ok for smaller builds using smaller gravel which do not leave lots of air gaps

    Y como se sabe cuando hay que regar?

    • @TheUrbanNemophilist
      @TheUrbanNemophilist  Před rokem

      No regular watering needed after initial setup and misting. Maybe once in 3-4 months.
