  • Geometric terrarium design (geometric glass door terrarium build from start to finish)
The geometric terrarium pattern was bought from Etsy. Here is the link to the pattern - www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/12...
I got the patterns printed on A4 size paper and cut them out to glue up some parts as instructed. I got the 3mm glass cut at the store by an expert this time. I laid down the glass panels and glued them together with water activated tape. Prior to this I also covered the edges of the glass with paper masking tape to get a cleaner finish. I used black silicone to seal the edges and left each section to cure for 24 hours before proceeding with the next step. I went slow and it took me about 4 days to complete the enclosure. I cleaned up the water tape residue with water and the silicone smudges on the glass with Isopropyl alcohol. There were imperfections at some of joints but I was sure it would be less noticeable once the terrarium was planted. I used a blade to cut the silicone and create a door in the front. The silicone itself acts like a hinge to swing open and close the door. Now the geometric terrarium was ready for the scape.
The final size of the enclosure stood at 24cmx24cmx40cm (LXWXH)
I laid down a layer of lava rocks to act as drainage layer and added a deep layer of terrarium substrate over it. I joined two pieces of driftwood to create an interesting and natural shape and placed it in the enclosure. Next I proceeded with planting. I used a Fern, Bolbitis difformis, Fittonia green, red and pink, Syngonium, Anubias, Pellionia repens, Ficus pumila and Moss to create a dense foliage. I added sand in the foreground and softened the edges with small lava rocks where the moss met the sand. I also added a few thin pieces of driftwood in the foreground for some more detailing. Finally I misted the terrarium, wiped up the glass, added some springtails and closed it up.
