Awesome! Look forward to seeing what you do with this car. I bought mine, 84 928S, after the previous owner sank 25k+ into it to get it sorted. I can only imagine starting with one on that condition.. keep the vids coming!! 🤘🤘

My goad is to keep this project under 5K. We'll see what happens.

@@Rurik_JustCruzn Impossible! You are a magician if you can get fixed for that amount. Good luck!

WITH his expertise , yes. these 928s really need an engine PULL because there is so little room in the bay. He's a Rock Star , like the 928 is too

Holy Cow!🐮What an undertaking!!I'm not sure ida taken on a project of THIS magnitude when I was a young buck🦌.For SURE I wouldn't now,as an old Goat!🐐.(What's with the animals!?haha!)That's a LOTTA work!$.I picked up a 78' Lincoln Mark V in 1987 for $600,ROUGH!But not THIS rough! All those exposed wires would scare the crap💩out of me!😱😳

I'd recommend that you check out more of our recent 928 content. The car has been road worthy for quite some time now. We are beginning to sort the cosmetics.

@@Rurik_JustCruzn I did,Sorry.Just giving my two cents.Yeah,I agree with your decision to make the 928 a track car.TOO much$invloved in making it original again. The previous owner/s drove that car to the ground!Musta been a reliable car,cuz it is SO worn!

  • @Jettemotor
    @Jettemotor Před 2 lety +1

Bringing it back to an "original" car would be horribly expensive. I have a stripped down beater -81 S (Euro of course) and I'm going full on sports/GT/racer with it with a manual conversion coming up now that I got a complete driveline for it. It's a car designed for hauling fat old men to the riviera, but it can be made pretty light and it's not at all as slow on track as some say. (I kept 90's M3 pace with the very sickly auto in mine). My vote would be for making it a fun underdog semi-racer.

After all my previous rambling's;After dropping in that new motor,I would get that body up to par!Get rid of those dents and holes.Fresh paint. The interior and cosmetics/exposed wiring inside the car and underneath is gonna take awhile to correct.Maybe look for a parts/donor car to pull from.Otherwise things could get REAL expen$ive! You could end up going WAY over budget.TINT THOSE WINDOWS ASAP!

Perfect candidate for a LS swap. Modern engine that will make a ton of power.
Renegade Hybrids sell a conversion kit. Or you could probably fabricate your own engine mounts.
I have seen a couple 928s with the old 1995 built LT1 small block Chevy 350 and I have seen one with a 6.0 LS swap. Both made over 400 rwhp!!! Actually the LS 6.0 made 480 rwhp . If you turbo one …way more power.
928 is a very cool car. I have always liked them. They were underpowered until the late 928 GTS came out.
If you go LS you will be way head money and power level vs spending about the same to get 234 hp Porsche
    Engine rebuilt.

The cheapest Porsche is the most expensive one!!!...... Something to keep in mind. That's a parts car at best, unless you have a shitload of money...... Expect an easy 15 to 20 k if you do the work yourself.

I have a very nice 1981 manual, but it has electrical gremlins
About to LS transplant and transform it with a 6.2 engine
They are great GT touring machines and worth the effort to get your car back to the modern era✅

I used to own a 1984 but now own a 1986 32valve 5speed much quicker with 50 more hp. I suggest fixing the body and try installing a Tesla motor from a wrecked Tesla or some kinda EV motor.

"Ugliest wheels I've ever seen"... then, you have more money than taste. Like a ding dong who can't taste the difference between Schlitz beer and a 40 year old bottle of wine.
