"It's not my dog". My favorite is when he's interviewing people at the mansion, gets his hand stuck in an armor glove with a mace ball attached. The ball ends up in the fireplace. When his hand gets hot enough, he swings to get the glove off, the ball smashes into the piano causing it to fall apart. The lady of the mansion says, "That's a priceless Steinway!" Clouseau looks at the remains of the piano an replies, "Not any more".
@@Kelly14UK- You wouldn't watch that for Peter Sellers, though, as he did very little in that movie. Herbert Lom, on the other hand, had a more important role. Of course, first and foremost, it's Alec Guinness' movie.

Genuine belly laughing comedy I was told about by my late dad but couldn't except cos it was old stuff that I didn't get at the time and I was not on his or Peter seller's level. I am now. Thanks dad, thanks Peter...I'm laughing now
I remember seeing this film at the cinema & being 8 yrs old & finding out how silly + absolutely hilarious grown ups could be & thinking God life's great!! Peter Sellers RIP (& the Mankey!!)

“He lives with me, but he is not my monkey! One day, I came home and I found him sitting in the living room. I let him stay, but he pays for his own room and board!” 🤣🤣🤣
Can only wonder what it was like working with Sellers. He seems so innocent, so unlikely to startle, until he opened his mouth and quietly floored you.
I mean you could say that of any reboot. Its always difficult for any actor to step into the shoes of an established character. Look how many Spider-man reboots there have been. Or James Bond's numerous actors. I like Brosnan and all and it took a while for craig to win me over. But no one is a match for sean connery. Or look at the remake of true grit. A lot of people like the remake well enough, but it isn't John Wayne. Maybe that is more of an indictment of Hollywood that they keep going back to the well with reboots instead of original stuff. Steve Martin is talented, but he isnt Clouseau. I would say there are some things the Martin reboots did well though. Clouseau calling Cato his little yellow friend wouldn't really fly today. Especially in light of recent events. So they play off of this with Miss Berenger played by Lilly Tomlin. They also reverse the gag where Clouseau is attacked. The problem is that they keep recylcing the same gags. I watched a video series on youtube called legacy of the pink panther. It's well worth a watch. Some great points are made for and against the Martin Pink Panther films.
...the beggar was the lookout man for the gang...that is impossible...why?... he was blind...how can a blindman be a lookout?...oh,oh..I'm on the floor again from laughing!
Peter Sellers at some of his best comedy but Kubrick actually wanted Selllers to play FOUR Parts (Slim Pickens' part) in "Dr. Strangelove". That's how talented he was.
I admired Peter sellers, a good and wacky..comedian, hes, had me...laughing hes, sure had sam Kinston the others comedians, but hes a good, actors, then...he's be..missed..
I can watch time after time on a loop and never stop laughing. Comedy like this does not exist any longer. He is the one and only. Peter Sellers
Clouseau is needed now more than ever. They should be run constantly on tv.
Sacha Baron Cohen is still young enough
Thinking this same thing 😊 we need the laughs😂😂
I forgot how hysterical Clouseau was.
Thank you.
"He's a businessman i'm a musician, he doesnt tell me what to play i dont tell him what to do with his money" comic genious
Maybe, but it’s genius.
It's hilarious ! He says: "They give the monkey the money."
Best line of all - How can a blind man be a lookout - How can an idiot be a Policeman answer me that. Brilliant,
😂😂😂😂 I've seen this for decades and it cracks me up every time!
Peter Sellers and his comedy is ageless
Oh if we could just have this kind of comedy in our time !!!!!😂😂
@catherinebreitfeller669
We do. I just watched this clip. I also have the complete box set of the Pink Panther films.
@@bootstrapperwilson7687Damm! Smart move on your part. Classic stuff can't be beat.
It doesn't get any funnier than this classic scene. Always brings tears to my eyes.
One of the best dialogues in cinematic history.
“Does your dog bite?”
Was my favorite scene😂🤣😂

When Dreyfus gave Clouseau's eulogy, it was also hilarious!!
COMIC GEANIOUS!!!@@michaelwarren2391
One of the funniest few minutes in cinema history. Brilliantly scripted and acted.
I have the whole collection of pink panthers I love it
The fact that Dreyfus briefly considered giving him 50 francs is pure genius lol
In fact, it was a ploy to annoy Clousea as Dreyfus had no intention to lend Clousea any money.
@@carminemurray6624 What about closet ploy?

I bet France would like to turn back to these times of humour & simplicity. As the whole World would too.
"How can an idiot be a policeman?!?" - Funniest line ever
"Very simple. All he has to do is enlist"

@Henchman Twenty1 Forward on to Trumpeldor. though He's not that subtle. Forward it to Putin and you might find out what plutonium tastes like...
One of the best scenes in movie history!
My most favorite scene of all the Panther movies..
I laughed so hard when I heard that repartee between Sellers & Lom. Absolutely brilliant.
Ah yes, the parallel bars are coming right back to me now!!!! Ha ha ha
The Pink Panther films were pure genius!
I've probably seen this 50 times and it still cracks me up.
One of Herbert Lom's Best scenes,RIP Herbert! x
'The Return of the Pink Panther' was the best, everything came together so well, like a perfected cocktail.
Certainly the funniest, without a doubt.
What a great actor Herbert Lom was
Mysterious Island
Yeah and the pair of them were in The Ladykillers, best dark comedy maybe
@Hans Hubner He died the way I would like to go.
@Clyde Jarrod
Yes indeed, the original lady killers is an absolute belter. A great cast too with these two and Alec Guinness.

He was distracted by the blind man the look out man while the bank was being robbed i love the pink panther films 😁😁😁😁😂😂😂
So funny.I never can stop laughing seeing this scene no matter how many times I have seen it.
The funniest part is when he knocks out the bank manerger 😂😂😂
It's a brilliantly crafted scene. 😂

“It’s very simple all he has to do is enlist” so funny. There are no funny actors/writers like this anymore

Dreyfus: How can an idiot be a policeman? Answer me that!
Clouseau: It's very simple, all he has to do is enlist...
Dreyfus: SHUT UP!!!
LOL!!!
That's a classic exchange! One of my favorites. Ranks right up there with "I thought you said your dog does not bite."..."That is not my dog...".
Absolutely irrefutable logic! It probably happens reasonably often. 😄😂
Laughing so hard it hurts and I've seen that clip a thousand times.

One of the funniest skits from the Pink Panther series....
The Minky took the monnaie!
My favorite line !
''The minkey was breaking the low.''
The lieuw? Th, 03/07/2019
“The chimpanzee minky…”
what a genius he was,,,
Great scene, highlighting how thick Clouseau's accent is and how it gets him into trouble with people.
The actor who played the blind beggar is John Bluthal a very talented voice actor who’s very good at doing ascents.
How many mountains did he climb?
Minkey? .....What? ....You said MINKEY!!
Love that opening scene - Clouseau bashing himself in the eye! Followed by one violent joke after another.
“He lives with me, but he is not my monkey! One day, I came home and I found him sitting in the living room. I let him stay, but he pays for his own room and board!” 🤣🤣🤣
This should have more views
The. Best. Peter. Rip. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The best scene in the entire series of these films
Can only wonder what it was like working with Sellers. He seems so innocent, so unlikely to startle, until he opened his mouth and quietly floored you.
Bloody brilliant!
'I did not know the bank was been robed, because I was being angaged in my swan duty as a police officer'.
Poor bank manager didn't know what hit him. Clouseau on the job again.
It was the staff. Every police officer should carry one to execute his police officer duties more efficently.
The way he bangs himself in the eye at the start gets me every time. It looks so accidental. Not rehearsed or planned.
I love how they sound
Genius! ❤
Actor who played blind man can be seen in episodes of British comedy The Vicar of Dibley!! Where he is equally funny!!!
John Bluthal. A great comedy actor.
They are just very good friends😊
Brilliant actor ..soooo funny ..😊😊😊
will you get out of my sight your suspended any questions could you lend me 50 francs get out out of my sight pure comic genius

It’s moments like him clobbering the bank manager which make this series the gold that it is.
I just realized after having watched so many of these films that the place was France but everyone speaks English.
Peter is the best period
Peter Sellers, Herbert Lom, great actors together. I love when the pistol fires a shot and blackens Lom's face.
