If you google it, you will find that organs were invented and are built by and played by humans. There is no evidence of any divine intervention in the process. They are glorious examples of the genius of human beings.
For those interested, the most powerful sections of this instrument are not in the organ case shown here, but are located in the galleries on the north side of the quire area. This includes the larger pedal stops including the 32' reed, and also the Swell division which is a powerful division on this organ. This is why the Lincoln Cathedral organ packs quite a punch!
The position of the organ on the screen gives a "presence" to the organ that cannot be expected when it is housed in a "hole in the wall". The vista lovers of bye gone centuries tore down these screen mounted examples of organ "Art" thereby destroying their free speaking positions.. I played this instrument some 30 years ago and may not have been St. Ouen of Rouen, but it came close. Chris Australia.
The power and majesty of a big pipe organ will Never be out done..... It is one of Gods greatest gifts to man....

Nice to hear the end of Guilmant's "Marche religieuse" on "Lift up your heads" played with such majesty!
Beautiful. Thanks for the upload. Regards from a (nowadays getting rare) protestant Christian from the Netherlands.
