- I hope you'll enjoy the "Emperor's Fanfare" for Pipe Organ which is part of my new Trumpet Tune Collection! This Fanfare is probably one of the most famous pieces from that era, played on the legendary Bosch organ in Santanyi Spain. This Pipe Organ features some of the best trumpets in the world and has a super powerful Bombarde in the pedal which shakes the whole church!
I hope you'll enjoy this recording of the "Emperor's Fanfare" using the amazing Bombarde + Pleno stops of this pipe organ.

…what is in your pocket? 😅
I'm amazed at the beautiful sounds that come from this organ via Paul's hands. Is it my imagination or did I hear something that sounded like a choir at one point? Thank you!!
Couldnt this cause the church to calapse? thats a very real possibility! hes in danger of being crushed ! they could nick name this'' the Samson and the Philistine concerto''
@@elliottfaure1226 Thats the lens cap of my camera! No tobacco involved here! 😂
Can you imagine the response of the people the first time this instrument sounded?
Oh man, those low register bombards. I wish the recording and my headphones could do them justice.
Oh, to be in that cathedral while this music is playing.
AGREED...!!! Sends goosebumps up and down your arms. My mom and i have sung in many different choirs and cathedrals. Their is nothing like hearing a pipe organ fully opened up.
The voice of an Archangel and the trumpet of God.
The composer: Antonio Soler was educated at the choir school of Montserrat and at an early age was made chapelmaster at Lérida Cathedral. In 1752 he joined the Order of St. Jerome (Hieronymites) and became organist at the Escorial Monastery. As one of the most notable keyboard performers of his time, he taught both organ and harpsichord to members of the royal family. He was himself a student of Domenico Scarlatti, whose influence may be perceived in the lively keyboard technique, the form, and the frequently unexpected harmonic progressions of Soler’s numerous harpsichord sonatas and also in some of his organ works. He wrote much church music, in which he often indulged a taste for intricate canons; incidental music for plays by Calderón and others; six quintets for organ and strings; and six concerti for two organs. He also wrote a work on musical theory, Llave de la Modulación (1762), which was the subject of significant controversy among his contemporaries. His experiments with microtones led him to invent, for the purpose, a keyboard instrument called the afinador.
Thank you for the cool information.🎶
I would love to be listening live and feel the church shake.😊
So do I.😊
I would too
They do live concerts often in summer
I love the feel of power emanating from my foot as I hid the pedals.
There is a reason the pipe organ is the "King of Instruments". Absolutely Epic sound.
The Queen of Instruments
@@CJW007 True, b/c King = piano :)
lol and it was banned by the bishop of Paris in the 11th century as vulgar .
MAGNIFICENT!!!! BRAVO!!! I have no doubt that this is what God’s voice sounds like in Heaven!!!❤️
I stumbled into Carcassone one evening, no plan, just arrived at the doorstep of a very nice 5 star restaurant where the maitre,d almost laughed when I asked if I could get a table, then a voice from across the room said he can sit with me. My invite came from the Organ Master of the English Church in Berne, a nice fellow whose first or second question was, "are you here for the recital?". To which I said "no". He next said, "so you have just happen to arrive at one of the finer restaurants in the region in time to get to the recital across the street?" He explained the event about to transpire. The inaugural concert of the 17h century organ in the Norman Cathedral after it's complete refurbishment. He left early as he was part of the official invitees. I finished and walked across the street, merely walked in and chose a seat and enjoyed my first live organ concert. It was superb. The summer of 1985.
Thats a wonderful memory!
How lucky were you! Must have been an awesome concert experience!
I love the majestic sound of that old pipe organ.
Wow! This is truly one of the most regal songs I've ever heard. I could see Christ Himself descending from the clouds with a great host of angels. Bravo !
Puts the fear of God in you. Makes you realize how humble we all are.
the fear or love of god. to think there's things to add even more triumphant power to all this. curious indeed.
The fear of God ???? Why should God be feared ? Isn’t he a tender, loving father of us all ? Why should a tender living father be feared ?
@@a.f.4248 Tender, loving father yes. But almighty, powerful and sometimes ruthless. Can unleash a global flood and save only those who He chooses.

This organ has the most unique sound ! These trumpet pipes sound very ancient and are not replicated as such on other organs. A very special sound, and this is the perfect piece to showcase that extraordinary Spanish trumpet sound. A wonderful performance of this piece. Thanks, Paul. I am glad that you included this arrangement in your new Trumpet Tunes Collection.
Saludos cordiales.
Speaking of 'Ancient:
QE1 sent a pipe organ to Suleiman (Turkey as a present.)
The voyage was rough and the Installers sent to set up the instrument, had to recast the pipes.
Does it still exist? If so is it playable?
I listened to this organ through my headphones. The sound of organ music was incredible, to hear the same organ live in the church, you would hear the music not just in your ears but you we would probably feel the music reverberating in your bones.
What a huge sound for a two manual organ!!! Impressive! When I see a two manual organ I do not expecting something this powerful!
The thunder stops are impressive with headphones. In person must be mind blowing. 😮
This immeasurable profound and heroic performance is absolutely amazing
Love Spanish organs! Their reeds and trumpets are something else. Of something I would want to hear Vierne on, but very appropriate for the music here. It’s a uniquely glorious sound.
This dude can play !! Man he’s good !👍🏻
What a mighty overwhelming sound. E. Power-Biggs' solo arrangement of this fanfare from Soler's Sixth Double Organ Concerto is no doubt responsible for making it so well known and loved. It's in the 'Biggs Book of Organ Music.'.
Yes it is and I have my second copy of that book (the first one got all worn out from use!) I play that piece more times than I can count. Biggs also recorded it twice that I know of - on the Columbia LP Historic Organs of Spain on the organ of Toledo Cathedral and on another Columbia LP called Soler Six Concertos for Two Organs in which the fanfare is written in a somewhat different form as the last movement of the Sixth Concerto. On this recording Biggs plays the famous Flentrop organ at the Busch-Reisinger Museum in Cambridge MA and the second organist is Daniel Pinkham who plays a one manual positiv organ also by Flentrop. Both albums can be found online - just look for the best condition and best price.
I get a "natural high" just watching and listening Paul play on this magnificent instrument. All I can say is "Wow". Great job!!
A truly gutsy instrument, overflowing with character, and a commanding performance. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for watching!!
I'm coming to this video after watching performances on mammoth organs with four keyboards and hundreds of stops and was expecting the same. It's incredible, the power behind such a relatively diminutive instrument.
WOW ! ! ! I've listened to countless pipe organs for years, both live and recorded. But this was something else. Through my headphones it sounded amazing. I can only begin to imagine what it would sound like live. 🙂
As I listened, I thought, "I wonder where is this instrument, so I can see and hear it myself"?
I love sound of this organ.
The engineering required to produce this instrument is amazing for its time. It just goes to show what a society values and how they represent that. My name is Bicycle Bob and I approved this message and the greatest piece of music ever, toccata fugue in D minor, is best on the organ.
George Carlin said it best, "music is the only good thing to come out of religion ".My name is Bicycle Bob and I approved this message and my own message.
@@robertreynolds1044 I'd say architecture, painting, sculpture, science and much more are good outcomes of religions as well... Coming from an atheist myself
Very majestic. If I had known I would've had this as the postlude at my wedding.
We did!
Because church organ music is so full of sound, this is a real test of car stereos. At full volume, anything that was not tightened down would become loose and unhinged.
This masterpiece, as performed by Paul Fey, became an instant favourite.
Thrilling performance on a thrilling instrument. WOW. Just WOW
Thank you so much!!
This is exactly my 11 year old, organ-enthusiast said. 3x WOW 🤩
...first heard this on the late E Power Biggs' album 'Historic Organs of Spain' over 50 years ago!!!
It must be so tremendously fun playing such a powerful machine!
I have played many times at the famous First Church in Albany, NY! It is the oldest church in upstate NY and the sound of our trumpets playing with the organ rattled the rafters! There is no more inspirational sound than organ and harmony trumpets!
Ein gewaltiges Instrument ❤🙏👌👍👏 Danke lieber Paul Fey.
Der Bass im Pedal ist echt brutal
Absolutely loved it. Such a magnificent instrument and played with such intensity and feeling. Thank you.
Them's Trumpets, all right! E. Power Biggs made this piece famous, with his recording on the "Emperor's Organ" in Toledo Cathedral. Bravo, Paul! 😁🐧
Must be fun tuning all those horizontal reeds!
Fabulous! Your playing, the instrument and the acoustical setting.
Their is NOTHING like hearing a pipe organ folks. It was my mother and i favorite instrument. We sung in a lot of choir's together. And in many different cathedrals. And just listening to a pipe organ FULLY open and breathing sends goosebumps up and down your arms. Especially, if the reverb is good on top of that. It is an impressive instrument that takes A LOT of practice to master. It's certainly not like playing the piano that's for sure.
Just listened to it again for the ????? time , It still gives me goosebumps 🙂
It's a very nice song💖
When you listen to it with earphones, the bass vibrations of the trumpet are transmitted to your ears and it is very impressive🎺✨

I also like cute sounds 💕
I'm very happy to be able to listen to Paul's wonderful performance while watching the wonderful images of the church 🍀😊
He used powerful pipe organs and Spanish trumpets to perfectly revive his grandeur and power. He leaves a deep impression by breathing new life into the painting. The notes and harmonies give the impression of having a long history and convey the essence well.
The performance leads to a world of deep emotion. The melody sounds more powerful and vivid through the harmonious echo of the organ and trumpet, and reveals its solemnity well. Powerful energy will captivate the mind and remain in the memory for a long time.
It showcases the beauty and power of classical music anew, and its skilled performance skills and sensuous interpretation make the performance even more remarkable and emotional. This wonderful performance delivers music inspiration and tells a hidden story.
WOW, an orchestra at the tips of your fingers!
Man, I would have love to have been there to feel the thunder!
I really like the spanish style of the trumpet pipes out sideways like that, just really cool
What a thrill it must be to play. I love listening to it.
This is the most impressive sounding pipe organ I have ever heard and I’ve listened to quite a few. The depth of sound is incredible! I have never heard anything like it. Your playing is magnificent as well!
I defy anyone to not tap their feet whilst Paul is playing this - amazing.
Actually doing just that as I read your comment.
So absolutely joyous, dynamic and inspirational to boot! There is nothing in the world like this! I play trumpet and playing this is the ultimate high!
Incredibly rich and powerful colours. This is mesmerizing....
I have listened to this over 100 times! Why is this so captivating
Thank you so much!!
Outstanding Powerful Great organist and a powerful organ. Nothing like it.
I absolutely love the bombastic sound of this organ and this piece of music. What a great job of playing this piece. Would so love to have a recording of this fantastic work!!!
Thank you so much!! This piece is featured on my first CD! 😀 You can find it here: www.paulfeyorganist.com/products/cd-i
That’s awesome. I wish it was on ITunes, but I can transfer from CD to my computer then to my phone. You know how we all carry pocket sized musical libraries now.😂 Thank you again and Merry Christmas.
So much power from only two manuals! It's awesome! And those little buzzy reeds are just cracking me up with their cute sound! Another excellent performance of one of my favorite pieces!
The size of an organ has nothing to do with the number of keyboards it has. It’s the number and variety of pipes that are the point.
@@Geoplanetjane I know that to be true. I used to play for my church in college. I was just impressed with the massive sound . 🙂
This is just a fantastic instrument and room! I know you will be back here.
Incredible
Many thanks for uploading a work well done
Très beau morceau ! Merci Paul Fey
Il est à noter que cette Fanfare impériale est issue du "Minué" du Concerto pour 2 orgues n° 6 en ré majeur d'Antonio Soler
Ganz toll und wunderschön gespielt. Danke Herr Fey. 👍👌👏
You're great Paul... Good luck and have a good life!!!
It's not often we get to hear the Trompette en chamade stop. Thank you for posting the mightiest one!
I first heard this organ on a recording by E Power Biggs on a Columbia recording. Amazing to hear it again here! Bravo!
Those spanish trumpets certainly have their own flavor and tang.... whats not to love.... Im not sure what the answer voice.... it certainly kind of sounded schalmei in nature.... a nice buzzy very interesting reed.... Thanks Paul....
Ich freue mich über diese Darbietung , vielen Dank Paul Fey 👍👌
Sehr schön anzuhören Paul Fey und so kraftvoll. Ich bin begeistert. 👍🏻👌👏
Congratulations to 34000 subscribers my friend! You're so worth it!🤗👍👍
AWESOME as usual, Paul. Love hearing those powerful pieces on these old organs. You do an excellent job. Don H Ocala Florida USA
WOW!!! this sounds so amazing on this beautiful instrument, and played so well!
What an awesome instrument. It just staggers the mind at the music that can come from that very old and wonderful creation. Thank you so much.
They certainly did not mess around when they voiced those trumpets - what a sound!
Wonderful Iberian sound. Fit for a King!
Que dire de plus que cette belle musique et cette belle interprétation... Rien, juste l'écouter.🐧
Glorieux et triomphant. Bravo !
A stunning piece of music ....... awesome!
Wow! That was great fun! Thanks.

My goosebumps just got goosebumps!
Truly magnificent and what a fantastic reverb that church has ❤
Simply stunning. Love this sound.
Ca déchire ! Bravo.
And they're really in tune! That's my favorite piece to show off the trumpets. Such fun to play!!!
Nice & mostly majestic music composition. Fine, good pipe organ playing 😄💛
I am spellbound! Amazing!

What beautiful piece and what a fantastic sounding organ. I think I’ve replayed this piece 30 times already today.
What registration are you using here? That bombarde sounds positively OBESE! 😁 Love it!!❤
You're playing it beautifully, God's gift.
Thank you so much!! 😀
Just wonderful, you are very special for us all on earth.
Thank You for sharing your gift
Schön wie Du deine Möglichkeiten nutzt und die Orgellandschaft bereits.Ein wunderschönes dynamisches Werk
Now I love Spanish trumpets!
My god, those facade pipes and the entire case are absolutely gorgeous. Wonder if any of the facade pipes that look all textured and twisted even speak.
I wish I could have heard this live, I look forward to rattling the windows a tad in my apartment as I assume you had them rattling there! ❤️
That looked like a relatively small console and really low ? (Maybe the bench was just too high 😁)
that's so amazing! 🎺🎹
Gefällt mir !!!!
Crazy world. I play harmonica, began when I was 14, and could take it in my pocket. Now I am 68, have been playing for 54 years, still learning....but this, this instrument takes up an entire building! Truly awesome.
Outstanding, greetings from Mexico
Wonderfully powerful and played to perfection as always.
Thanks 🙏 Paul and looking forward to seeing more.
Fantastic! I love that you are playing this ancient handmade wooden organ while reading the music from a tablet. Quite a contrast of paradigms. 😂
Wow, never heard such low notes from a church organ before. Would be exciting to experience these notes in real life.
Those are likely 32 foot pipes
