Warning to viewers. a lot of this is harder than it looks. You have to really want it. Buy the tools 12 points, swivel impact and 3/8 swivel socket holders, bendable extensions etc. You WILL be stuck and have to stop and buy them. I started doing all the Truckmaster vids after seeing how it's done and believing it was easy and learned the hard way. It's not easy. Now I've done CP3, turbo, exhaust manifolds, down pipes, up pipes, etc. etc. If your in there do alll you can for example this guy should have had a cp3 conversion done. I know money was a factor. That's why wrenching on your own stuff pays off.

Great point! It always looks easier on video make sure you have tools for the job. I had three hours of footage on this process and I edited it down to 30 minutes. I’m sure I missed a lot but this video is a great snap shot or reference. Doing this yourself should save you around $1000 on labor cost. Good luck everyone 👍

Awesome video, helped me a bunch! The WC Fab kit now comes with the hot side pipe as well but its pretty simple to figure that install out. A few things I learned to pass on: On my '13 lml the cold side charge pipe clamp would not fit onto the intercooler no matter what I tried, had to go get a regular 3-5" clamp for that guy. Also, the O-rings are sized for each specific part (3 rings, 2 for the y bridge and one for the turbo intake). I somehow messed that up and had to go get one for my intake after I had the bridge securely installed. Lastly, make sure you hook the IAT sensor back to the correct plug! There is an exact match in the leftover harnesses which I accidentally used and got a 0097 code and limp mode. The harness you want is the one that goes with the MAF. One week later father/son project complete: WC Fab bridge kit, DEF delete 4" straight, FASS pump and Firestone ride rite just cuz i was in the mood! Oh and H/S Mini maxx. Wife was not happy with credit card bill but my truck is badass now!! haha.

Hey I love your videos every time I work on my truck I look on your page first. I feel like you just explain the process better. Also love that you include your wife. A lot of men especially down here in the south wouldn’t even consider it🙄. Anyway I have a question about the lml egr cooler delete and I’ve already had the def and egr valve delete and have a EFI live tune. Would I need to do anything to the tune I have on it when change it all out?

Man oh man, thanks SO MUCH for this video. I started mine this weekend, have had the parts in the shop for a while just finally had time to let my truck be down for a few days (cause I knew this was gonna be tough and didnt wanna get in a bind and need the truck). Really having a hard time getting that OEM downpipe out. Got both bands off from the top and bottom, but that pipe aint budgin. Its a 2012 with 180k miles, so I figure that is why it is so tight in there. Anyone have any pointers on getting it out? Thanks again for the video, love the realism and tips you provide.

Loosen the first exhaust hanger nut. It should be right near the def tank. I will not I have an aftermarket exhaust but to remove that down pipe that’s what I did and a 24” or 36” pry bar was also used. Right now I’m struggling to get the Y bridge installed. He shows it drops right in mines not. 🤦‍♂️

How’s it going brotha! What’s the difference between an LB7 up pipe and just the normal up pipe?
I found an up pipe that the diesel dudes are selling, but I wasn’t sure if that is the same as the LB7 up pipe.
The description doesn’t say anything about LB7…..

Man, you make it look EASY in this video. I fought with this y-bridge kit (all parts didn't fit right seemed like) on my truck yesterday for hours and ended up snapping the head off one of the y-bridge bolts in the intake runner. So not I get to take it all back off and swap out an intake manifold then reinstall. Needless to say, the piping is not as pretty as it was out of the box. LMAO
My cold air intake is one piece and is a PITA....still think it's not flush against the compressor housing. Very frustrating!

Ahhh yes I feel your pain. I worked from 10:30am till 8:00pm trying to do my Y-Bridge / cold side pipe & turbo mouth. Needless to say. It’s not done. Y-bridge didn’t seem to fit right 1 bolt is slammed up against the pipe preventing from any type of socket / wrench etc. will have to remove 9th injector to maybe get to it. The Y bridge pipe doesn’t seem to line up with the cold side pipe either. No instructions in box with parts of course. Confused on some of the pipes holes / blocks off. Will be calling HSP tomorrow ASAP. Busted knuckles 4letter words was most of my day. Is yours done now ?

@@jasonjackson329 yes I have it installed. Had to order a new ybridge, it finally came in last week so I'll get it installed. Everything else seemed to finally go together. I guess none of the kits come with instructions. Would be really nice to know what parts to install in which order. Also, if you ever plan on taking those silicone boots off for any reason.....you are better off just buying a couple new ones. They're a bitch to get off. 😂

I had to pull my hot side back off after it not really aligning correct. I figured maybe I have to put top side on first. I like to never get it off. Those boots went from nice shiny looking to beat down and old looking real quick as well as the powder color was nice but now has pry bar marks all on it.

I'm not saying there's no issue with blocking off the egr portion of the stock up pipe, versus replacing with an lb7 up pipe... But why would pressures be any different on the lower bellows on the lb7 or lml up pipes? Would blocking the egr portion effectively be the same as it not existing to begin with? Are the lml lower bellows weaker?

@truckmaster can you expound upon the tune you used for this project? You mention the DSP5 switch, but what else made this tune more effective than other options? I just purchased a similar truck and am reading up on my options. So far a few tuners I’ve looked at say they are not compatible with deleted applications. Great video!
