Goooooolly, I had to take off my shoes and socks to use my toes to count the words from hubby. You know you got a good man when his eyes sparkle and joy sneaks onto his face when he is with his honey. You two just put joy into my heart. Forget the butter and saltines, butter on Gram-crackers, and if we were really good kids, mom would put some extra frosting on the gram-crackers. It truly is all about loving the simple things.
I just love when the farmer smiles and shows his dimples! He has a twinkle in his eye since you got back from F2F!

Your hubby was really talking in this video. I loved it. He strikes me as a man of few words, but when he talks, you better listen because there’s something wise about to be said. Meredith all the old equipment is a blessing to your farm. Because of the deferred maintainable you got to buy it at a great price and when it breaks down you get to repair it at cost of parts. During WW1 my grandfather had a corn farm in Iowa and owned all his equipment. All the equipment you said goes to die in another vlog is what he farmed with with gas rationing a lot of it was converted to run on wood gas a gasifier. When he enlisted and went to France then Germany with trench warfare and mustard gas his 3 sisters ran the farm with a hired man. In one of his letters home he wrote go ahead and sell the calf it wasn't much good anyway. The government had to lock a lot of farm loans to protect the farms from closing. No debt and he grew his seed corn during the depression he said they didn't participate and was able to help his neighbors. Anyhow your husband is a smart man who knows you pay yourself first not the bank. And in the hardest times you and the farm will be OK.
Its obvious Lawrence is glad you are back, he had more smiles and more words said in this video than any i can remember. Its amazing the expressions on his face when he's at work its stern and serious yet when he looks at you to answer a question its noticeably softens and there is a twinkle in his eyes. Ya'll have a Merry Christmas and a Happy (profitable and healthy) New Year.

Informative video for non-cattle people. Also evidence that the old saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder" works for Lawrence too. I think he's glad to see you back on the farm.
I really enjoy watching you all farming and ranching. I grew up on a cattle ranch. When I got older I worked in a feedlot by battle mountain Nv. We fed 7000 head 3 times a day. I drive truck for the last 30 years. God bless you family.

@@ThisFarmWife_ yep you smelled it before you ever get there. The ranch is still in operation (t.s. ranch) it takes three days to drive fence line and start the gas pumps for the cows water. It also has 3 or 4 open pit gold mines on it. I think I would rather be on your farm . lol

Terrific video. What seem mundane and boring to you and Lawrence is either educational to some and brings back many memories to others. Lawrence's hat is the "Bomb"! I'm in the same condition with that hitch in my step so I feel for the poor man. Decades of non-stop hard work catches a man. Wish I was 30 years younger; I'd come down and volunteer to help for spell.
I enjoy your desire to name everything from trucks and machines to some of your cattle. I think Bonnie would ride on pin sand razor blades to be with you. She's a star in the videos.
Speaking of rain,,,,, we here in East Tennessee have gotten top 5 all time rain fall this year and last year. Near 70 inches back to back years . Ironically September was the driest hottest month ever ,like no rain. Gotta love muddage .
The farmer really loves you and your children. Don’t get frustrated with all the mud and and hard times. You have a great life. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. I really enjoy your videos. I hope you don’t block me from your Chanell but something similar happened to me and I lost the love of my life. You are awesome.

I'd love to hear some of his stories about him growing up in the farm life. He's probably forgotten more about farming than younger farmers will ever know. Glad you're back home with your family. Seeing Lawrence walking in the mud makes me think about a farmer of long ago back home. Was March and he was selling calves he’d kept over and was cold and muddy. He was in the lot sorting out to load and someone said hey Benny where’s your boots. He’d walked out of his boots and socks both and didn’t even know it. He was bare footed in cold wet mud. And he kept rite on till he was done. As his boots and socks were gone in the muck.

Excellent the way you hold a camera steady even while jostling on a tractor. Others I've watched are back and forth with the camera so bad . . . I get dizzy. I almost fall out of my chair! So, I always come back to the Bernard channel and re-watch some old vids if I have to. I'm watching them this time signed in so I can click like. I wish I could click it a dozen times for ya. Well lived on a old style dairy and we tried to wash our hands before eating but sometimes we ate on the go, so yeah it never killed any of us having a little manure with our sandwiches. Lol I think the farmer liked having his help back.

I like to say it builds character. If I was able to rinse my hands in water, that was the level of hygiene back on our farm.
I enjoyed the vids of FBN. I've never heard of it until your video. It sounds like a tool farmers need to become more efficient and able to buy supplies as a group.

I'm with the Farmer, you need a good wool cap for winter, the mesh is for summer. Fitted wool caps would be great, they make those now with elastic in them so you can be of a 1/8 or 2 and they still fit nice
