Sarah Fuller Pathetic Kickoff That The Media Overhyped

  • On November 28th, 2020, Vanderbilt vs Missouri, the 0-8 Commodores said "why not" and put Sarah Fuller at kicker, and for some reason she was already a legend. Desmond Howard said she had a "Charles Barkley like twitch" which of course people don't like, because if you criticize a girl, you sre all of a sudden cancelled. I mean you should be allowed to criticize an athlete, no matter the gender. She's a great soccer player, and football isn't her thing. She kicked a ball 30 yards down 21-0, and people called it a squib kick, but why would you squib it to start the first half. Anyway, ESPN treated it like she solved world hunger. Basically, as one of the comments said, people treat it like it's a make a wish kid kicking.

    Question: Why does this have a lot more dislikes than likes, when most the comments are supportive of the title? Just to be clear, I called it an unintentional squib kick, and said it made “history” with intentional quotation marks.

      Maybe check your description of the video. She's not the first female kicker, only the first in the SEC, congratulating her after she ripped her team at halftime during an interview didn't help her cause... what I'm getting at is change the description. You can see my video of her to see how it should've actually been portrayed

      What's funny is that they tried to cover for her and say that this was a squib kick. This was not a squib kick. That type of kick is supposed to be very low to the ground and roll and bounce Multiple times. She kicked it in the air 20 yds and then it bounced twice. No matter how you look at it this is a terrible kick. If this is supposed to be an onside kick she failed. If this was supposed to be a squib kick, she failed and if this was supposed to be a long kick she also failed.

I'm all for equality, and I will even say the girl has kicking skills. A woman won't ever be a consistent player in football though because it's a huge risk that she gets hit. why do you assume this wasn't an intentional squib. of course she can't boot it out of the back of the end zone so you try to keep it out of the hands of the the other team's main returner, ESPECIALLY if your kickoff cover team sucks. Not everything is about distance. This thing took a nasty bounce too.

    • @Softwiener4u7229
      @Softwiener4u7229 Před 3 lety

      @@jonkflurgen6975you assume it was a mistake because if not, it was bad coaching. You only see kicks like this when youre trying to get the ball back. You kick it much harder than this on a line and hope for a bad bounce that the receiver cant handle. In this case, it was so slow that even these non-receivers could handle the tricky bounce. There is no justifying it, so stop.

      @@Softwiener4u7229 are you getting squib kicks mixed up with onside kicks?. you definitely don't ONLY see kicks like this when you're trying to get the ball back. It's just a safer thing to do than trying to kick as hard as you can because you know your kicker doesn't have the leg to go out the back of the end zone, and your kickoff cover team sucks dick. The guy had to dive on it. I don't see how this is a bad play at all other than the not-great field position (better than allowing a touchdown)

Video shows that after the kick, she ran off the field to her sideline, never making any attempt to get into the action down field. This isn't "courage" - it's a publicity stunt. Nothing more.
