NBA regulation rim height is 10 ft.
Yeah from middle school all the way to the NBA the hoop must be 10ft tall.
Yeah ITS 10 guys
@@willvr4 lol seemed like it was 12ft high when I was in middle school.
@@citisoccer I'm 6'1" and even at my peak of athleticism at 17 or so I could barely touch the rim. Could never dunk.
@@willvr4 thats sad because I'm 5' 11" and could dunk a woman's ball, my hands weren't big enough to palm a full size.
The hoop is 10 feet. And the 1st dunk of the video was over a 7"1 tall man!
ended that Frenchman's career
The most devastating and the greatest dunk of All time
"The Dunk of Death"
Vince Carter posterized so many people...
@@janelson41 but Dunk of Death Was stars aligned, America Already Knows about VC hell our Basketball is elite... but that happened during the Olympics in front of a world wide audience
As some have pointed out, these aren't really the best dunks in history. Most of these were "posters" aka...people getting dunked on. I recommend just reacting to a best of Vince Carter video...for example.
to be fair VC in the first clip is the greatest dunk of all time. let's be serious
@@grizz22604 Definitely a top 3 poster of all time. I agree completely. VC is my favorite dunker of all time. I'd say that wrap around dribble leading to the facial of Zo is in the discussion. I always loved that baseline, reverse windmill/up and under/ whateverthefuck he did against IND. And lets not forget that fastbreak, 1 handed alley-oop. I can get good links for all of these if anyone is google search challenged.
VC is legend but you can't forget the Reign Man. Shawn Kemp was just as nasty. They are 1a and 1b.
@@rmoultonrmoulton145 ya the chris mullen dunk was nasty af
Facts
missing a couple shaq dunks, he broke a few backboards and rims in his day
Exactly. And a few deandre jordan and Blake griffin dunks
Also, Darryl Dawkins "Chocolate Thunder" broke a few backboards as well.
Orlando Magic Shaq cost the league a lot of time and money lmao.
@@StackRunItUp Who and who?

RIP Kobe Bryant, Tommy Lasorda, Don Sutton, and now, Hammerin' Hank Aaron of the Braves. The true homerun king.
Hammerin hank promoted the jab, took it on television and died a few days later. No sympathy for stupid sheep
@@philmccracken179 imagine talking down on a dead man for his beliefs, you’re such a tough guy.
What's so amazing about the Dr. J dunk is that his off hand never touches the ball. He steals the pass with one hand, dribbles with the same hand and then picks up the dribble and dunks with the same hand.
Rim is 10 ft.
These definitely aren’t the best dunks in nba history. Maybe the Vince carter one but there was a lot of great dunks this video missed
That wasnt even a NBA game, Olympic game.
All 10 should be Dr. J, Dominique Wilkins, and kemp.
There’s so many good dunks now♨️
@@mikemclaughlin3306 I just know you’re 40+
@@ImDembe I'd still count it. The guy (Weis) that he jumped over was drafted by the Knicks at 15 in the first round. Albeit, Weis ended up choosing to stay with his pro French team so he never actually played an NBA game. And then also because it's the freaking Olympics lol
need a reaction to the “Top 100 plays of the decade” posted by the NBA channel!

Love your stuff guys, Keep it up. I like the different things you reacted to so far.
its super cool that disrespect of "being put on a poster" is universally understood
These were okay, but man, they left out a LOT of way better dunks.
Most underrated dunk of all time is Harrison Barnes on Pekovic, look it up one day boys if you don’t know
And that’s an understatement
right? Jordan and Nique had a combined 3 dunks in that video, and they weren't even close to their best dunks. You could make a top 25 dunks list with just those two
@@tyleru96 ^^This.
@@MacDaddyOP underrated for sure. Harrison Barnes is underrated in general imo.
Rim is 10 ft. The guy in the first clip is Vince Carter, known as the best dunker of all time. He jumped over a guy who's 7 foot.
Carter best dunker? Maybe by millenials...... Dr. J and Dominique Wilkins are way better
@@mikemclaughlin3306 Neither one of them have the mobility and finesse Carter had.
Dominique was just a power dunker, Dr J is an og dunker but doesn't have the same air time as Carter.
@@Plague_Doc22 hahahahahahahahahahahahaha....... no
@@mikemclaughlin3306 Notice how I got people liking my comments, clearly agreeing.
I think you're probably older and because those guys played while you were a kid/teen, you have this attachment to them. Like how old folks will go "music these days"
@@mikemclaughlin3306 stop you’re wrong it’s ok. Stop living in your nostalgia. Carter did dunks no one did before.
The alley-oop has got to be my favorite move in basketball. I don’t even care how many times I see it - love it every time. And it gets the crowd going wild in the arena.
I agree but also feel the same about the 360 dunk
The dunk at 12:20 is 500% emblematic of Bill Burr's line in his White & Black Athletes skit "Don't you ever get tired of seeing those 2 nuts flying over your face... just get out of the way !!!" Perfection.
Oh fuck yes! More NBA/basketball reactions!
(edit: eh this video was alright, but it should have been titled "Best Poster Dunks" because these definitely aren't the best drunks overall, albeit this video did include a few of the legitimate best dunks. A poster dunk is when the offensive player "dunks" over a defending player in a play that is spectacular and athletic enough to warrant reproduction in a printed poster.)
LOLOLOL - Daz says: " I've got the physique for darts. "
The key to an amazing dunk is when someone who's considerably shorter and smaller (180-215 lbs, 6'1 - 6'7) dunks with incredible power on and through someone who's considerably taller and larger (225-315 lbs 6'9-7'3). Add context like playoffs/champioonships, rivalry's, go-ahead baskets..etc makes for incredible moments.
“I got the physique for darts.”
New subscriber, loving the channel, and the diversity of the things you are reacting to. You also turned me onto Oversimplified which is amazing. This was a really good, well rounded video. It showed all the greats, and most of them were huge playoff dunks or guys dunking over guys much taller or guys dunking over All-star players. Then at the end it showed the amazing ones in NBA history. Goal is 10ft.
I’m loving the content!!!
I love Jordan's dunk when he runs in from 3pt territory and dunks a rebound on a free throw shot.
As a Sonics fan that dunk 11:19 will always be an amazing memory, especially the announcer call 'POWER SLAM TOMAHAWK JAM, YEAH BABY!'
Just sub. Respect to you guys from Montreal 👊🏿 🇨🇦
Hell yuh ive been waiting for this video
"Click , click get ready for you KODAK MOMENT! " LOL the announcer had me crying
I was the one to get it to 1,000 likes. Keep doing what you're doing I love the channel.
That last dunk is my favorite dunk ever, glad they included it.
Chicago girl here, Bull's fan....Michael Jordan was poetry in motion! Dave, when you mentioned about you being talk and not being able to even come close to jumping like these guys, it made me think of a movie; have you ever seen "White Men Can't Jump" with Woody Harrelson, Wesley Snipes, and Rosie Perez? If not, watch it, it's hilarious!
Loving the nba/nfl videos!
The context of each dunk makes them greater
You should watch "Every 50-Point Dunk In NBA Dunk Contest History (1984-2019)!" It's a great video and has tons of nba history and amazing dunks.
We need more of this
Larry Bird. I’ll never understand why he isn’t more revered. Look for him. Absolutely one of the best ever!
They just reacted to Larry bird mixtape bro!!
@@WaterKingCrocodoan thanks. I wrote that 4 months ago and I’m glad they watched Larry Legend!
Regulation rim height is 10 feet. Also, the first dunk is by Vince Carter who is sorta known for his ridiculous dunking ability. Also one of the longest-playing players in NBA history
You guys are so cute watching b-ball. I actually remember watching some of these games. Also RIP Colby.
Just saw you guys today. Love your videos. You should reacting to nba heat check moments
The Erving ("Dr. J") dunk at about 12:00 is indeed one of the greatest. Erving was "only" two meters tall but had enormous hands that enabled him to hold and shoot the ball in ways other players could not, and he was as graceful as Barishnikov. Not only this dunk, but possibly the greatest shot in NBA history: czcams.com/video/ZhdGihdnSKQ/video.html. And he was not in his prime.
Only 2 meters🤣
@@Sunsets330 He's only 2 metres next to Wembanyana

Dudley got dunk destroyed so badly by Shaq that he had the nerve to throw the ball at Shaq's back because of the embarrassment😂😂😂 7:30
That’s so so fun to watch and satisfying .🏀👍🏼🏀👍🏼🏀👍🏼!!!
You guys should react to best dunk contest dunks! In the middle of the NBA season they have a weekend where the best players “all stars” get together for a series of friendly basketball related games then the big all star game to top off the weekend. Some of the dunks during these events are insane!!!
Vince Carter slam dunk contest or the 2016 Aaron Gordon vs Zach LaVine in the slam dunk contest are definitely something worth watching if you like showboat dunking.
I love the American sport reactions. I watch all of them!
The best Nba dunkers of all time include:

Michael Jordan
Julius "Dr. J" Erving
Dominique Wilkins
Spud Webb
Jason Richardson
Daryl Dawkins
Tracy Mcgrady
Lebron James
Larry Nance
Shawn Kemp
Steve Francis

Great content as usual.
Please look at NBA Dunk Contests. Only one dunk from this video is from a dunk contest. The one with the 360° spin. They make these dunks look pedestrian.
Y’all don’t understand how strong you have to be to dunk it on someone. It is extremely hard to hold onto the ball as someone is hitting you with their body
Was hoping for a Darrell Dawkins power dunk, one of the backboard shattering dunks. I mean because of him they changed the way they were made so he wouldn't break them or bring them down to the floor.
You guys should react to slam dunk contests...it's like watching aggressive ballet.
And try to find a video of people trying on Shaquille O'Neil's shoes.
For the next American Football reaction you guys should take a look at "Why Larry Fitzgerald is the Most Loved Player In the NFL" by Set the Edge. Great look at a currently playing Hall of Fame caliber wide receiver, both in terms of his stats and overall effect on the league. Plus a bit of a look into the "process" of becoming a player and some love for my Arizona Cardinals.
I'd also like them to check out videos on Derrick Thomas and Barry Sanders. Along with Fitzgerald, they're all interesting stories.
You guys should watch either the 2016 or the 2020 NBA Dunk Contest. Two of the best dunking duels ever.
Here’s the kicker for that last dunk (Sac/Hou)...that was Houston’s broadcast team. HOF’r, Calvin Murphy, on the mic. You’re doing sum’n when the visiting broadcast team is coming apart for something you did
Remember these guys have HUGE hands, like you handling a cricket ball.
First clip that was Vince carter jumping over a guy that’s 7ft
You all should react to Vince Carter in the dunk contest. It was amazing.
You should watch the NBA dunk contests. Always amazing
"If I could do that, I'd be doing it all the time"
I feel that! So when I was in high school I was a great dunker (I know weird flex right?).. Anyway, I'm 30 now and haven't played basketball in almost 10 years, I'm fat and out of shape. All of my old injuries make my body feel stiff as a board every time I get off a chair, everything pops and cracks. But even to this day I sometimes have dreams at night of me throwing down a nasty dunk. There isn't any better feeling in the game of basketball. One time I dunked the ball so hard that I shattered the backboard, glass went everywhere. My first thought was "I'm the man" and then my second thought was "are there any girls watching" and then my final thought was "shit I'm gonna have to pay for this basketball hoop." These thoughts all happened within about a 5 second period of time 😂
The same guy who did the rules of American Football video did some videos on why Basketball and American Football aren't popular in the UK. He explains how those sports lost traction in the UK. You should check them out.
The rims have always been 10-feet high since posted 13 rules for a game he called “Basket Ball” in a Springfield, Mass., YMCA gym in 1891.
The height of a regulation basketball rim is 10 feet. Each position has a rough average height. Point guards are about 6'3, Shooting guards are about 6'5, Small forwards are about 6'7, Power forwards are about 6'9, and Centers are about 6'11. Obviously some are taller and some are shorter, but the rough average height of an NBA player is 6'7
Great reaction, as always, but this video would've had to have been hours long to really do the title justice lol
Also, I'm also 6'2" and we would be short in the NBA. For reference, the shortest man in this video is Derrick Rose, he's 6'3" and one of the quickest, fastest, and highest jumping guys in NBA history.
Great videos guys. When will we be getting more videos on the other channel?
you blokes look as thrilled a me getting a root canal
I think one thing that you not completely understand is the difficulty and disrespect that comes when you dunk over a player. the difficulty is upped when someone is challenging you at the rim
Like a few other people have mentioned, there are plenty of dunks that this video missed. I would suggest you guys watch Best Dunk Contest dunks cause there are some crazy and iconic dunks that happened in that contest over the years.
Gerald Wallace, Jason Richardson, Stomile Swift, and Antonio Mcdyess. Check out the dunks these high flyers have.
You have to look up Shaq's best dunks. I can't believe this video didn't include when he broke the entire basket assembly and another time tore off the entire backboard assembly. Only time it's every happened.
There were a couple of guys in the NBA that were 5'5 and even a guy named Muggsy Bogues who was only 5'3, but was famous for his ability to dunk.
"if you miss it though, you're a twat aren't ya?" gold!
That gerald "the dog" wallace dunk may be the nastiest dunk ever
The first dunk was not NBA but the player Carter was from NBA,i think its one of international games where USA vs other team(cant recall) was playing.
The first dunk Vince carter at the Olympic if you look real close you notice he entire forearm was in the net.
thats a nice highlight reel and all but its missing a lot of Vince Carter who is arguably one of the best "in-game" dunkers in the NBA...he was the first guy on the clip in the USA jersey when he dunked over a 7 footer Frederic Weiss of France in the Sydney Olympics.
They showed one Vince Carter dunk because he should have a compilation of his own. Blake Griffin is also a great dunker to react to.
Y’all should watch the famous nba dunk contests
GREAT REACTION!!! You guys should react to NBA Best Ally Oop Highlights or specific player highlights like Kobe Bryant highlights or Stephen Curry highlights
Where's the J.R. Smith drunk ): that one is pure magic! Also a lot of Blake Griffith dunks as well.
Basketball rim is 10 feet high. Don’t have to be tall if you have a big jump. Spud Webb was only 5’6” when he won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 1986, due to his 42” vertical leap.
You guys need to watch a slam dunk contest
11:40 fun fact: Scotty Pipin got a tech for "illegal nuts to the face" for that dunk on Ewing.🤣🤣🤣
Poor Ewing was "the ugly guy that got dunked on in every poster" from the late 80's to the mid 90's. Of course he was a legendary center, but damn.... just bad luck.
I'm surprised the video didn't feature more Vince Carter or Blake Griffin. JR Smith got some crazy highlight dunks too
The Paul George 360 is the best breakaway jam ever
3 things:
1. I could watch that Kemp dunk on repeat all day long.
2. There should be about 10 Russell Westbrook dunks in this reel.
3. How the hell was there only ONE Vince Carter dunk????
You guys should watch the 2015 NBA dunk contest best of all-time
Thought these would be flashy dunks, but I guess posters are cool too.
You want to see dunks? Definitely check out the dunk contests!
I also think to understand how good these dunks are, ya gotta find the best blocks in NBA history too
another thing about this video is that you appreciate it more when you know who the players are. the name of the players dunking and getting dunked on. its part of the history. like Tmac dunking on Yao Ming who was over 7 foot tall
if you want to see some insane dunks you should react to jordan kilganon best dunks, he does dunks nba players haven't done even in the nba dunk contest
Some of these guys seem to suspend the law of gravity. They just float up there like astronauts while slamming.
Never at this level, but I have dunked on boys... You make the turn and commit, and sometimes it works out
The regulation height of a basketball hoop is 10ft (3.048 meters). Shaq (24 foot man as you called him which he might as well have been because he was that unstoppable) is 7’1 and his weight fluctuates a bit in the different clips but the one of him in the Lakers clip (yellow jersey if you did not know) is him in his prime at a ridiculous weight of 325lbs (147.418kg). Also the average NBA player height is 6’5 which means to reach the basket they need a 24 inch vertical and to effectively dunk it they need a 30 inch vertical. If there are any other people here in these comments that aren’t well versed in the NBA reply to this comment and I’ll be more than happy to explain any of the shown clips or anything else related to the NBA.
You should react to ‘Gordon Ramsay’s best insult compilation’ comedy gold!
