    I never really comment on videos but I I just had to do it now to thank you guys for the Control+Drag on UI tip. I agree with you guys this is the first time in years I have ever heard of that and I had issues with that for months. It feels like a hidden Holy Grail of Zbrush UI editing! Thank you so much and stay awesome guys!

    Ah man thanks for the first tip (ctrl+left click the interface) I have been having an interface that I made on a bigger monitor and I was stuck with a button that I could never remove it was very annoying. The poseble symmetry too, very useful!.
    One thing also that alot of people don't seem to know, if you select the lasso (ctrl+shift) you can click an edge to hide a loop of polygon. Can be very useful to separate certain parts in polygroups.

    Ctrl click and drag this is going to be useful, thanks - especially when using smaller sreens like Mobile Studio Pro will help me to keep nice biggish buttons but the ability to find them off screen while scrolling, awesome.

    Control drag will save me so much time. My laptop is 4:3 ratio so anytime the sidebars are open all my tools in the bottom and side of the screen get partially hidden

    Two more cool tips if the camera in zbrush sometimes starts zooming in and out on wiered areas of your model. If you mask an area then zoom it will zoom in on that specific area. Also if you have a mesh and use the projection tool the mesh will shrink wrap and take the shape of the projected mesh. I use it to retopo by taking basic shapes extruding them out of the surface im projecting too then I connect the indicvual pieces to retopo and pose characters in zbrush quickly after I used dynamesh to sculpt them

    Incredibly useful I have a question that's not related to the video. I recently came back to CZcams, but the video upload quality has been reduced. I reuploaded one of my older videos and I could clearly see a reduction in quality. Would you mind telling me what software you use to record and what bitrate you export your video in? It's driving me nuts and you helping me would be the best gift of 2018! Thank you.

    Guys!
    Do you know a way to use the 3dconnexion mouses in ZBrush?
    I cant believe they didn't add it yet.

    • @DanijelTeofilovic
      @DanijelTeofilovic Před 5 lety +1

      I have mine just rotting out in storage because they can't support it. It is something of the way ZBrush handles polygons. It is their 2.5D system in the backend that just cannot play nice with 3d mouse. Idk exactly but I lost every hope :)

    My most commonly used brushes have BackfaceMask on by default.

    • @FlippedNormals
      @FlippedNormals  Před 6 lety +1

      I put it in my UI, as I keep putting it on and off constantly. Not a bad idea to re-save them with it on, though!

    • @vllad74
      @vllad74 Před 6 lety

      I have it as a button too - it is quite convenient. With them on by default, I am sure that after a lot of sculpting I don't have the bad experience of seeing the same sculpt on the other side of my mesh :) Thanks for the videos!

    the first feature you show is not working on zbrush r7. I think is only for r8 or am I wrong?

    • @FlippedNormals
      @FlippedNormals  Před 6 lety

      Hmm.. Could've swore that feature should be working in r7. Anyway, I'd upgrade to R8 as it offers some nice improvement, plus it's a free upgrade :)

  • @picosdrivethru

    Hey guys,
    Is backface masking only enabled/disabled on a per brush basis?
    Is there any way to enable it for ALL your zbrush brushes at ONCE?

    • @FlippedNormals
      @FlippedNormals  Před 6 lety +2

      As far as I know, it's only available per brush. The way I get around this is to have the button in the UI to make it easy to toggle on and off. It's a bit annoying, but this makes it faster at least.
      /H

    Is there is any way to import maya blend shape in the layer in Zbrush...???

      Yes indeed! Check out the Maya Blend Shapes plugin

  • @crowbringer
    @crowbringer Před 6 lety

    Maybe you got an idea on wy does zBrush not take any advantage of the mouse wheel? Scrolling through subtools or doing that thing with menus you do using ctrl using mouse wheel instead would be like, you know, so fucking amazing, right?

    • @FlippedNormals
      @FlippedNormals  Před 6 lety

      I think the reason is because ZBrush is meant to be used with a tablet; most things are designed around that. Sculpting with a mouse is a painful experience compared to a tablet. That said, would be handy with proper scroll wheel support!

    • @crowbringer
      @crowbringer Před 6 lety

      Yeah, I'm using my tablet for sculpting but my mouse is just next by. It's way easier, more accurate and faster to use a mouse for menus (for me) so I, like, flick the pen on my middle and thumb finger to navigate with the mouse. Mouse scroll would be really handy indeed.
