I know some people may not agree with me on this, but I really hope Tech is dead. Because bringing him back in season 3 will make this scene mean nothing. Honestly Tech’s sacrifice is one of the best moments in all of the animated clone wars animations. This scene happens so fast, it’s made real. The moment tech fell, I knew what was about to happen and the realization from Tech is perfect.
exactly- as much as I loved Tech as a character, bringing him back takes all the weight out of his sacrifice.

whilst i agree i think he should stay dead the other end of it is that technically his sacrifice was for nothing as they capture omega anyway

He was falling attached to a giant metal coffin following him down, and we see he dropped his gun
There’s no way he somehow sticks the landing and doesn’t immediately get crushed by a box car worth of metal

Not too mention at 1:35 that train car has to weigh a ton and he holds onto it for a solid 3 seconds after it detaches. he tries to hold tech up as long as he can 😭
Tech's voice when he says "There is not time Wrecker. Plan 99.". Bro knew what he had to do and didn't hesitate to do it. That's loyalty and sacrifice right there.

I think it’s pretty funny how millions of fan theories got crushed harder than tech himself when one of the CX clones wasn’t tech
Tech's sacrifice was not in vain as he put his team first.
Then his team got injured after the tram went too fast, then while they were resting at Cid’s place, she betrayed them to the Empire which led to Omega being captured.
I had to come here after the series finale. I’ve held out hope that he was somehow still alive but now… tech- you’re one of my all time favorites, only second to Rex. I wish you could share the happy ending that your brothers and sister have, but I guess without your sacrifice they wouldn’t even be alive. RIP brown eyes.

What's even sadder is that you can tell Phee Genoa *liked* him and was interested in having a relationship with Tech. The last time they saw each other, Tech didn't even say goodbye (he's Tech, what'd you expect?).
That's literally the first thing I said to my sister after tech died!!
I think Tech assumed that they would come back from this mission unscathed like any other. So it wasn’t really a goodbye for him.

Rogue One-continues to openly attack imperial soldiers and civilians on Jedha, this has become such a problem for the rebellion that they literally have to resort to assasinating him using Jyn.

He's most likely alive. Around the final episode in a season, he fell out of sight and we don't see his body. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the assassin clone that attacks the rebel clones in season 3

I’ve seen both Echo & Gregor surgery both survive explosions. Hemlock did say they only found Tech’s googles & not his body. So it’s possible he survived this fall. Albeit he’s gonna need some cybernetics & a lengthy recovery time to.
I do not think he survived as that would really take away the impact of this scene. As sad as it was it’s probably best for the show that he actually is dead.
Maybe but we won’t know. There’s other characters in other franchises that survived worse & still manage to come back to life.

Irl there’s stories that people have survived great heights from stuff like skydiving/parachuting. But again Tech & a part of being a special ops unit he should have access to gear that can save him from that fall. Also I did say that Echo & Gregor survived explosions & still lived. And it didn’t diminish the scenes they were last shown before coming back to life.
He fell thousands of feet his head probably exploded when he hit the ground.
I wasn't sure if he was officially dead, but after watching season 3, he's definitely dead, now I'm sad😢

I saw the series finale today. I’m sad to say Tech really is gone. I really thought he was one of Hemlock’s operatives (especially the one with the sniper rifle), but they all got killed in the finale. RIP Tech 🌹🌹🌹

This really hits even harder than most because the Bad Batch series is done.

Just finished the Finale, Tech’s death is one of the hardest to watch in all of Star Wars
So glad he didn’t come back
I dont know why everyone seems to think that tech not coming back in the final season means hes actually dead. Gregor died in the clone wars and they brought him back years later in rebels. Disney loves to do the "falling into the abyss" death to keep it child friendly and keep that character in their backpocket for later.
The bad batch as a whole have been written out of the story by the epilogue. Plus, it would cheapen Omega having his goggles on her ship if he were to come back.

The Clones were more than just soldiers. They were their own people with a deeper culture. Tech, Heavy, Rex, Fives, 99, Waxer, Boil, Cody, Oddball, Echo, and others are proof of that. They were individuals. They were people united by blood and good looks. They were brave and compassionate. They understood the mission and they were MORE than capable of objective reasoning and comparing notes as a team (fuck General Krell). They were good. They were a people manipulated by a higher power and used as disposable tools. However, if we were to compare them to the REAL world in terms of morals, guts, strengthen, intelligence and understanding, they may just represent humans at their best, and i think theyre a great icon to strive towards for both the young and the old. Such a shame it had to be in a time of war. FOR THE REPUBLIC!!!
u forgot Dogma. Krell manipulated the clones into killing each other, and Dogma didn't hesitate to shoot him. That's loyalty there.

It’s a deep disappointment that Tech died and never got to reconcile with Crosshair like the others did. I can’t believe they killed him off so early.
I honestly cried some at this scene during the show cause tech was logical and he knew there was no other way...

there's a beauty in this scene, it shows how well Tech accept his situation, Bad Batch core is flexibility in doing their things following orders is not their best way in performing task, it's more to trust among them, so when Tech in this situation we normally expecting some cringe line or sad cliche moment, but no. Tech replying their plead to stay alive but saying, "when have we ever followed orders" hits so hard yet brings us to what the Bad Batch core value really is, and we all know it the moment he said that line, such an amazing plot.
It literally just occurred to me he said plan 99 and wrecker grabbed onto the barge similar to the very first time they were shown in combat where they died the door of the gun ship…. Why am I even more sad thinking that Tech told him that and he instantly went into action but then it doesn’t work this time and it just goes to him silently saying his last words..

Always found Tech to be Annoying so wasn't Upset about this but disappointed that they didn't bring his Corpse back for Season 3. Would have been some nice Trauma for the Batch to deal with

Yes but if- if there is water below… This is Tech we’re talking about. Mr. analyzes everything. He could no doubt find the best position to be in to have the highest chance of survival. If he could find a way to slow his speed until getting closer to the water/ground whichever… he is still connected to the tram soooo if he grabbed onto it, yes it and him would still be falling but his bodily speed would be slowed as opposed to him free falling by himself right? If he waited for the right moment to detach himself from the tram… there’s a chance he could escape a landing with his life.
I’m not a physics major don’t come at me with torches and pitchforks please… I’m just genuinely curious. I *WANT* him to be alive but I know it’s a slim probability. In the end it all up to the devs, but there are ways.
@@PITviper217 Him grabbing on to the tram would not slow him down significantly. It may impart some drag, but for that to work and not have him get crushed upon impact he'd have to get on top. He'd have to hold on extremely tightly, otherwise he would just get killed when the tram hit the ground, shortly followed by him impacting the tram at terminal velocity.
But Tech grabbing on to the tram would not affect his speed by itself, weight does not affect how fast you fall, gravity does. It's just that when there's an atmosphere drag can get in the way.
Even if this is the case, he wouldn't likely have the time to execute it. Tech is a genius, but even he would have limits.
As much as I have grown to like the character, I think it's best he stays dead. Having him miraculously survive would cheapen this sacrifice, and ultimately, for better or for worse, some characters need to stay dead (I'm looking at you Echo).
Even if he were to jump? If he waited until he got close enough to the ground? Would jumping off an object, moving or not, stall his speed a little? Going against the pull of gravity? He’d fall the rest of the way and most likely be injured in some way, but he’d be alive.
I don’t believe that him being alive would take away from his “sacrifice”. I’ve heard this so many times and so I guess I just don’t understand the statement. He did what he did, to save his family. It’s the thought behind the action that matters the most. Which is why I also believe if he is in fact alive, it would never take away from this moment because in this moment you saw Tech being the selfless brother that not a lot of viewers believed he had in him. The emotions behind this scene are real and can never be written off.

This is what I felt was missing from the finale. This mission was a mess, and they showed that. The finale should’ve been even more risky, yet everybody was more or less okay by the end. Sure Crosshair lost a hand, but that’s really not a big deal in the Star Wars universe, and it doesn’t seem like he needed it for any future fights anyways
I think the issue with the finale is who do you kill? You can’t kill Omega- she’s a child and this is Disney. You can’t really kill Wrecker- he’s very child-like which I feel would make it hard to get the sign off for. Echo has already “died” once and they probably want him for a clone rebellion spin off. That leaves crosshair, who everyone had been predicting was going to die, and having him live is a more interesting decision I would say.
You know, as much as I hate star wars for bringing back every dead character imaginable this is one of those times I wish they did. Then again a really great character like him dying in the way he did made it all the more emotional.

We somehow made it a whole season without Tech magically coming back to save the day. I kept expecting it, pleasantly surprised to see Disney have some integrity.

There was only a single moment of hesitation from Tech but he loved his brothers and did not want to be the reason they all died. He instead choose to be the reason they all lived.

Also, not to undermine the emotional impact of his death, but couldn't he shoot the rail with his grappling gun, then climb up, get on the railcar, shoot the other rail car so it falls, and then everyone's on their way?

If Tech fell and was crushed by that car, how was Hemlock able to salvage only his goggles? The only way he could do that is if Tech's goggles fell off while he was falling and that didn't happen. That means its possible the Empire found Tech and ruined his goggles to make it look like what Hemlock said.
Exactlyyyyyy. Hemlock is a lying cockroach who will do anything and twist words to fit his personal agendas. His whole demeanor when he spoke to Hunter about Tech just felt so off. He wants control over the situation and those goggles were just what he needed. Either he’s lying and he has Tech himself or Tech was able to physically get up himself and move or someone moved him. From that height I don’t see how both lenses could have survived the force of impact if Tech did indeed hit the ground without interference. Something just continues to smell fishy here. I’m not convinced Tech’s dead. But of course I want him back but I shall wait and see.

Because that’s not who he is. Saw isn’t an idealist like Mon Mothma, or someone fighting for a small group like the Bad Batch or (at first anyway) the Ghost crew. Saw is an extremist who takes any chance to damage the empire, no matter the cost.

I thought the same way but remember when Crosshair said they already tried the CX programme on him but couldn't do so because of his defective genetic state, and that applies to Tech as well.
