    Ensure that your cabling connectors, earth, red and green wiring to the new 3.5 mm plug are insulated to near the soldering join, if you do not then your audio performance will not function correctly as your wires will be touching inside the gold casing causing intermittent shorts. Remember too tin your wires and avoid cold welds.

    the pins in these Sennheiser jacks are ridiculously small. It was the real pain in the ass, I had to solder this today and when I had screwed the enclousure, I realized that the connection was broken so I had to do this once again.

      That connector has only 3 terminals so there's no contacts for a mic. Here's pinout: ibb.co/yQBRwdR

    quite a bit more tricky than it looks, you need steady hands and good eyesight. I'm gonna need to get a proper magnifying glass and some decent flux as my first attempt was botched.

      Just attach those wires to the terminals and hold them tight with your fingers. Then connect it to your device and check if it works. The wires inside may have PVC isolation or a special paint so make sure you cleaned it nicely.

    I have a green, blue , red and copper cable, I assume copper is land, red is right but what about blue and green? There's mic but it is miday on the cable, not on the headset, so I guess one of them is the mic but why? Head phone only work on 1 side, always the same phone. I've welded the blue and the green on the same point and still there's only 1 phone that is working.

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Před rokem

      I'd stick the connector into any jack and turn on some music and then try to attach those wires to different terminals (without soldering) to find out a proper connection scheme.

      it fits absolutely perfectly to any smartphone tablet or laptop. There are connectors with 3 and 4 terminals. The last one in case you have a Mic in your headset. All the links in the description below the video.

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Před 5 lety +3

      First, plug your connector somewhere and turn some music on. Next, clean a little that color paint from wires and try to connect any of them to the ground contact and another to the left or right channel. If one wire doesn't work then keep the same wire on ground and try another on left or right channel. So, you have to find two wires for left speaker and two wires for right one and the last wire will be your mic which you are not gonna use.
