- FINALLY IT IS HERE!!! guys I am sorry for the really really late video of this bed build. You will notice it is set in the winter. no it is not snowing up here yet but the morning are starting to feel really good. guys in this video we are going to basically do a time laps with little sperts of instructional talk on how to build this thing. A lot of the original welding bed video is gone. My computer quit working and I lost a massive amount of footage. So that being said this is what I have left. in this video I thank you all of you that gave details on jobs during the time My welding certs where pulled. we are back working and managed to stay busy the entire time. Just want to first compliment you on being a good family man, taking care of your loved ones is most important. Having all that 'footage' is a big loss, but your CZcams family, I think, will understand, computers die, batteries go dead, etc. are a fact of life. Welding is your job; teaching and inspiring, comes in as a bonus. Knowing that when your 'welding certs' were pulled, you didn't mope around, get drunk, quit, heck no, you dug your heels in and got after it. That right there is a valuable to anyone. Take care. A light tubing and screen headache rack on the front of the flat deck would protect the back of the cab when the welding skid is of. And can mount lights.

Oh yeah I’ve met plenty who have their equipment on a trailer I’ve also had to use a trailer from time to time but I definitely prefer to work out a truck

Wait though so does moving your 5th wheel back affect suspension and stuff more then? Rather than being farther up in the bed like stock? Might sound stupid I just don’t know
Its defentely heavier on the springs but as far as the way it pulls and handles it is awesome and handles beautifully.
Get you a sait or evolution blade for that metal saw trust me that diablo blade is too thick and puts alot of strain on that saw. Btw bed looks really good man. Good video 👍🏼👍🏼

How do you figure out the wheel wells and get them made
Measure from your cab to where the center of your axel is minus the clearance for the cab so usually like 3/4 to 1.5”

I'm just a home gamer welder, I just had a question, Instead of fenders why not just extend the bed to cover the tires,would that give you more room ? I think it looks awesome. Thanks my 13 year old loves these videos too. He's burning me out of rod and wire,but it's worth it.
yes sir it would give you more room for sure. it this point its all about looks. hahah your a good dad for letting him burn through all that.
When he hits the tacks what does that do?
Hammering down the metal around the tack while it's still hot just helps keep it flat and from warping.

What are you using for fenders? For a 35" tire
Thats just a rolled piece of plate.

How much is the entire gas bottle in the video, in kilograms? What thickness of sheet metal do you use to make the body?
I have no clue. cost they are about 250-300.00

They are oxygen bottles and its perfectly fine. acytelene has to be stood up. the rack is not quite built in this video yet so the two bottles you see are oxygen. if its wrong thn 90% of rig welders are doing it wrong.
