My absolute favorite Queen song ❤❤❤ Brian May wrote the song. He could barely stand up when recording it and they were wondering if he was gonna be able to do it. Freddie said "I'll fucking do it, darling" downed some vodka and just killed it. Amazing. The very last song he sang was Mother Love btw. He didn't have time to finish it, so Brian had to sing the last verse.

Thanks for honoring Freddie on this day, so sad for all of us who lost him, this genius, this amazing human being, so kind, gentle, and yet energetic on stage. But for him was the end of all the pain and suffering.
Life goes on, but a lot poorer without him.💖💖💖👑👑👑🎤🌟🌟🌟

Thanks for this reaction. Remembering Freddie is always emotional. Be it sorrow, joy, excitement, pleasure, wonder, awe, passion. But like you said his talents most probably wouldn’t have been truely appreciated all these year and in all the years to come without Roger, Brian and John. Brian wrote this song in a way to prepare himself and the band for what was coming. As things got worse, Freddie told Rog, Bri and John to just keep writing that’s why they were able to release their last album after he’d left us. They still have a catalog of his music but keeping it on Freddie’s wishes. They loved him so much and he loved them. Take the love we feel for him as fans and then imagine actually being his best friends and working with him. John couldn’t go on; Brian was so depressed he was suicidal. I believe most Queen fans take comfort that one Freddie’s dreams came true. He’s not a superstar, he’s a LEGEND. 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛. Take care guys.

Freddie is truly the greatest vocalist and performer! So emotional watching the video. It hits hard seeing everything they accomplished together as a band and how Freddie’s life ended way too soon. It’s difficult to reconcile the man in this video versus the man ravaged by this terrible disease. His determination & bravery are as legendary as his musical legacy. Great reaction. No one compares to Freddie!

Awesome reaction! You guys really need to check out Innuendo as well, czcams.com/video/g2N0TkfrQhY/video.html, it is from this same album. Freddie's voice did lose some power at this time, but he could sing higher then ever just before death. This is not a positive song, it is about accepting the inevitable. You cannot escape death. This song was really Brian's way of coming to terms with the fact that Freddie will soon be dead. Brian wasn't just losing someone who he knew for over 20 years, Queen was also losing a large part of their career. At this stage Queen had hit singles and top selling albums for almost 20 years. They were still highly successful, the song Innuendo instantly shot to no.1 on the charts when it was released. (The title song of this album) Queen was still very much apart of the game and competing with all of the other top artists. That was over when Freddie died, he was the main songwriter.
At this stage Freddie had already long ago made peace with the fact that he was dying. It was the rest of the band that needed to accept it. The song is really about putting in one last effort, you already know what the outcome will be but through great grit and determination you put in one last effect before you have to accept your fate. This is not a triumphant song, there is noting to overcome or gain at the end. This is just about putting in that one last final effort before death.
Please check out Now I am Here live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1979 czcams.com/video/pkkFKUmFJ70/video.html. For a more rocking performance.

    Thanks for this reaction

HI GUYS... THANK YOU for such a beautiful reaction in Memory of our Beloved Freddie.
FYI, the LAST song that Freddie did sing, was "Mother's Love". He actually was so ill, that he was unable to finish the song: You will hear that the first two verses are sung by Freddie, and then the last verse will be sung by Brian May.... It is BEAUTIFUL.
