Freddie was literally the greatest Showman on Earth.
YESSSS
Oh absolutely my dear...
No Hugh jackman???
@@luissegovia8205 😂😂
Indeed...
Guys, there were 72,000 people in that stadium. 72,000 people that sang in sync and at his command. We will NEVER have another Freddie Mercury. Ever.... 🥺😔
There were also 100,000 at Philadelphia stadium, and 1.9 billion watching on TV.
So a total of more than 2 billion.
We have Freddie Mercury Lite, I mean, Marc Martel.
@Luke Mills just be great full, if it wasn’t for Lambert we wouldn’t have Queen as a band anymore. I like him, but he just doesn’t seem to be a rock guy. Don’t take it away from Adam he’s a good singer, but no matter who you bring into Queen, don’t dare compare them to Freddie because we know who wins. It’s Freddie always and it’s so hard to compare the 2. Adam is definitely a more pop-ish kind of guy. I think they need Marc Martel if they want the same king of singing, but if we want the same stage performances we need Lambert. If I had to pick, I’d pick Marc Martel but yet again, don’t compare anyone to Freddie because it’s not fair to the singer and whoever sings for Queen will never EVER be nowhere as good as Freddie.
Actually later it turned out 120,000 people were there
@@patriciaomalley7414 folk story
1.9 billion is just hype, not real
Freddy was asked what his favourite instrument to play was? He replied “The crowd darling” 😂
He didnt play the crowd. They adored him.with a sh*t load of respect. Lifelong fan. 🧡
How many Live Aid posts have you read that on? Darling! 🏴
The best rock for ever 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Spoken like a true queen
I can hear him saying this 😂
Greatest lead vocalist in rock history. Best 20 minutes in rock history. Best rock band ever.... R.I.P. dear sweet Freddie !!!
He was a Beautiful soul, he was an amazing person and performer.
Defo, Freddie is unmatched.
Was quite simply the man
P@@chewwyc Plant.
I disagree,Plant matches & surpasses him, for vocal range, & charisma.
It's not even a Queen crowd, Queen joined live aid after everyone bought their tickets... but still Freddie had them all in the palm of his hand!! :)) they stole the show
Absolutely!
David bowie was after them and he ask freddie how was he gonna follow up after that😂😂

Probably the greatest 20 minutes of live rock ever performed.
No probably about it!
Where'd you get THAT line from?

This was the night that EVERY BAND opened up for QUEEN!!
That has to be one of the best summaries of Queen at Live Aid!

And no phones everywhere, just people enjoying the show
I was there. It s not just a concert. Is a legendary moment. Beleive me
I’m so jealous right now. Was it amazing?
Beyond amazing. Superb. To always remember
I’m soooooo jealous but thrilled you were there! 😃👍😍
Oh..... shit. Wow. What a frickin memory.
How disappointed where you when Led Zeppelin came out?
Fun fact: the song Radio Gaga is where Lady Gaga took her name from.
I didnt know that holy
Too bad she didn't get inspired to do actual music
Felix Taylor, Roger's son, inspired Radio Ga Ga.
Fun fact: Out of respect for common decency Lady Gaga and Queen, or any of their songs, should not be referenced in the same sentence, ever. Even the sentence I have just written. Even if she did choose her moniker to piggyback off the success and glory of other artists.
Hells yeah
I saw Queen 6 times from 1978 to 1983..... and I saw this performance on my TV at home!! They always performed a great great show!! Thank you for reacting to this!
I am old enough to have watched it live on TV. Rami Malek's performance of Freddie in "Bohemian Rhapsody" was so spot on, I was floored and in tears because it was like God had allowed Freddie to return to us unworthy and humble humans once more.
That made me cry what you just said! Really miss you Freddie!
I haven’t seen the movie yet and I’m honestly not sure if I can handle seeing it. I don’t know if I want to watch someone pretending to be Freddie, he’s just so magical and epic that I don’t know if anyone can do him justice.
And the crowd didn't even know they were coming, they were added after the tickets were sold.
So, they weren't all Queen fans, and still, Freddie ruled, he commanded the crowd, had them in the palm of his hands.
Queen ruled, stole the entire show.
The most amazing band ever, and Freddie the best frontman of all times.
that's a lie and only a made-up fact in the movie.
@@sankhajayalath3387 TRUTH! There had been a press conference several months before announcing they would be there. It kills me every time I read about the crowd not being Queen fans (or all...) yet they certainly knew their music and were right on cue with him. But, they weren't fans. Yeah, right!!
@@sdavis5001 I think it was Brian May who said the crowd wasn't a "Queen crowd". Queen weren't one of the big hitters at live aid who drew the crowds in. They weren't forgotten, but they also didn't belong into the group of recent superstars at that time. It's true most people didn't specifically come to see Queen, but it's Queen everyone remembers seeing.
Queen knew very well what to do to burn this crowd into the ground. A crowd that might not have been full of Queen fans, but a crowd that knew Queen's songs. They converted this crowd into a "Queen Crowd".
@@kennikitty Brian and Roger said it…..Idc if they were a crowd or not lol….I’d say they had to be, being they knew the songs, and got a huge surprise them being there. But there were ppl in that crowd who knew they would be. We know not everyone as a whole liked all the groups that played. Concert was great but I can’t stand Bono example lol 😂…….anyway thankfully their hard practice work paid off perfectly, and back on the map they went. (I had to edit 😒my word check makes it up)
Add: thing is so many argue the fact about the crowd. They came to see EVERYONE there….their own fav’s….and, it got knocked wayyyyy out of the stadium ☺️☺️☺️
How do you account for all the Queen banners etc?
Almost thirty years without him and it hurts like he left yesterday. Some say time heals all wounds but not this one.
It doesn't heal. We just get used to the pain.
I agree...and I got so mad at the recent death hoax about Brian! That was terrible! No one in the Queen stratasphere is prepared for that😭 Rest In Paradise beautiful Freddie ❤️👑🎹🎤❤️
So true you cannot heal from this pain the world doesn't look the same from the day he went ithink fans feel it everyday like me great loss to the world miss him for ever
@@josie3028 I can't relate with Freddie as he died before I was born, but I do feel very sad that I didn't get to see him or hear him live, I do feel the same way about Queen Elizabeth and Shane Warne because I did see them. World isn't the same without all 3.
Absolutely, it feels like it happened yesterday. Rest in power Freddie ❤️
Look how the crowd LOVES him!
R.I.P. Freddie, we love u 💕
Possibly the single, greatest live performance ever.
They played short versions because every band on the day only had a short time slot. Around 20 minutes only. Lots of bands played only 2 or 3 songs, Queen understood and got more songs in by only playing a bit. That was one of the reasons they were so good that day, that and the quality of their music and performance. I remember the day like it was yesterday, was it really 36 years ago......
Nah, can't be. I remember it so well. But I was 19 so...yes, a long time ago.
I love watching peoples love for Freddie!!
Queen still uniting millions of people in unison whether it be clapping, singing, crying, we love Queen and miss our Freddie terribly. My heart is still gutted all these years later. 💔❤️😭
Same. . . . . . . . . . .💔😭💔
“Crazy little thing” was/is Freddie’s tribute to Elvis. 💕👍🏼
And written by Freddie in 5-10mins in the bath using only a few cords he knew ( at the time)on the guitar.
Don't forget John Deacon, he was hardly EVER heard of, yet he was the brilliant bass guitarist!! Loved them all ofcourse!!
Wrote some of their greatest songs. Some of my favourites.
He was born on (what date?) he was so adorable. Noble. Queen.
@@sdavis5001 August the 19th, 1951
@@marianyx1161 lol thanks
Deacon was the silent one and by what I've read he liked it that way, but he's one hell of a musician and songwriter.
In the street where I lived, in Glasgow, every tenement building had an open window with the whole concert blaring out ! Never to be forgotten.
When I saw the movie and this part was shown everyone in the theater clapped along with Freddie. That alone shows how influential Freddie was.
It's so unfortunate that Rami Malek did not capture any of Freddie's nuances or ticks. Rami is very overrated.
He wasn't just performing audience he was also singing for the ROYAL FAMILY
Freddie can never be copied because he was a true master. We miss him.
Yes😥✨
Rami did a great job acting like Freddie in bohemian rhapsody the movie but no one can replace Freddie himself
...I was at the Concert in Philly. They stopped our show so we could see this AMAZING performance~!
They ABSOLUTELY STOLE THAT WHOLE SHOW!! Saw that show.. memories..

Best live performance of all time. Period.
I’m a grown man at 41 years old. It just brings a tear to my eye watching this. Only the good die young.
Interesting factoid: the next act after Queen was David Bowie.
Apparently Bowie said to someone just as Queen were taking their bows, "How the FUCK am I supposed to follow that?"
And Elton John went to their caravan afterwards, came in and said, with a huge smile, "You bastards! You've stolen the show!"
The best 20 minutes of music..... ever
And that my friends is what it means to be in the presence of greatness!!! Thank you Freddie for the gift of your music you left us. Fly high ❤️❤️❤️
This particular performance is several times voted best performance ever in rock history👍👨🏻❤️
I actually believe this is the single greatest performance caught on camera. He HELD the crowd in his palm for 25 minutes.... this performance makes me always tear up due to the brilliance, the energy, joy and just utter utter magnifico performance.
And I’m not a Queen fan :)

These guys all play like hell and can sing harmonies at the same time. Freddie? There has never nor will there be another person who can do every damn thing with such coolness and have every person in the audience feel like they were a part of the presentation!
there are musicians, then there are rockers, then there are rock icons, then rock gods....and then there is Freddy Mercury
No better singer or showman than Freddie Mercury. He was simply the best!
I adore Freddie but he is second to the BEST ever, Mick Jagger !!!!'!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@janicelindsey9557 Vocally, Mick couldn't hold a candle to Freddie. That is not even a debate.
Absolutly agree
For me is paul mccartney the best singer
Freddie is unarguably one of the best singers, performers front men of all time. He's so good that people overlook how amazing Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor. Each have to be in at least the Top 20 of all time on their particular instrument just on their own.
Thank you so much for doing this whole QUEEN performance. They put their hearts and soul in this concert. QUEEN stole the show. The most memorable performance of all time even to this day. "QUEEN FOREVER"
The insane thing to me is that the crowd was not only queen audience, but thay converted everybody.
If he lived another 10 years queen will be the goat band without question.
The greatest live rock performance of all time!! Freddie was suffering from a bout with laryngitis, yet still absolutely killed this show!
Hey guys great great great reaction. Just to make you very jealous "I WAS THERE AT THAT CONCERT IN THE CROWD". I was 16 at the time and it was the first time I had heard Queen live, I've been a fan ever since and I'm now 51. After Queen had finished the rest of the acts were VERY flat indeed. RIP Freddie Mercury my HERO xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
In an interview, Freddie Mercury was asked what instrument he played. His reply: "The audience, darling"
Guys, luckilly i got to watch this live, but when ever i watch this Queen video live i always get goosebumps, it didn't matter who was the most famous star you were back then, 99% of all the stars will tell you who were there that day, they will tell you with no hesitation, Queen stole that show, not many people know this but Brian may and his father built Brians guitar from little pieces of furniture lying around the May house hold and now just like Queen themselves it's priceless, if only music was still made this way today were you needed a good voice, be able to play at least one instrument, the musical world would be a better place.
Fantastic reaction love your faces when watching Queen / Freddie 👍❤️
I think Roger And John deserves as much appreciation, Roger's back-up Vocals+ Solid Drumming and John's realiable Bass Playing is a crucial part of Queen's Sound.
John as well
But I have a lot of respect for Roger for always being aware of Freddie
He was meant to be backing vocals but if Freddie was struggling on tour he stepped up and supported him Giving Freddie chance to regain himself and carry on

I don't understand the last part
Why have you put both names as if they were different people
And no one called him Farrokh
He was called Freddie since school
When he came to britain he put his name as Frederick/farrokh Bulsara
Then later changed his name
@@dingdong-lt9rz
Throat problems were normal though
Even if there was clearer information he would have probably put that down to work
They toured over 9 months except for nov and Dec,I'm assuming thats when he finished his album
Even though he had been working for 9 months he had a few weeks to recover but maybe this wasn't enough
In earlier years he wasn't getting a real brake between recording and touring and caused damage so was always having throat problems,it didnt help that quite often he was competing with the band which strained hos voice
I doubt they would have been concerned over live aid
Magic tour he really steuggled and realised something was wrong
Brian said when he said he was done they just thought he was tired and in a bad mood, they didn't think much of it until they realised oh he actually means this
Apparently he first told them he had liver problems or something so maybe they were still hoping they would continue at some point even if theyre smaller tours
Their producer Dave Richards said during Innuendo Roger came to him asking if he knew what was wrong with Freddie
I think he only told them when he was really ill
@@dingdong-lt9rz I'll need to take more notice of video's,i had the impression that even though it was short that the magic tour was good and he was in form vocally,I haven't seen comments saying it was bad,but i I haven't taken much notice either
In heinsight yes the sore throat could have been a result of hiv
What i meant was there was no concern at live aid because he had toured 9 months...
It was after magic tour he realised something was more serious than normal fatigue
But the band still didnt realise it was serious just he was in a bad mood
Roger has said in heinsight freddie must have realised it was serious
He took a test in 86 which came back negative, retested in 87 also diagnosed with kaposi sarcoma skin cancer
But it was during innuendo they were told properly..
The BEST Rhythm section ever

I saw Queen performing 3 times in Vorst Nationaal in Brussels late seventies and eightees, and I'm convinced there will never be a band that will perform like Queen did.
So glad we lived through those great music days. My husband was in that audience. We are in our 60s now. Great times

"You can't go wrong with Queen!" Well said guys!! 🎧🤘
When he passed in 91' it was the greatest lose in History. You can see and tell looking that Freddy LOVED being on stage and Preforming. He gave his all 100% and then some every single time.
It was an epic concert
Freddie and Brian came back on stage that evening and performed one more song: "Is This The World We Created?"
Yes, please react to that encore of freddie and brian..so touching as the song is timely for the event..you can also check out their interview before the show starts...love queen...
This song is always blocked listen to the Wembley 1986 version instead. This performance belong to Live Aid.
I have read and heard this performance described as the best 24 minutes in rock-n-roll history. I think it’ is true!!!
Yes they did🥰🥰😍😍 I was there that day .....Queen knocked it into the park ❤
Yesssa the Wembley version please!
Amazing concert.. he was not well and was told not to perform.. Saw Queen in Wembley 86.. still best concert i have ever been too!!.. Freddie was amazing what a showman!
I'm old enough to be a mom to both of you, I was in Philly during Live Aid, and watching your emotive responses to Queen brings tears to my eyes and makes me want to give you both a hug. (Please watch the extended version where Freddie and Brian come back at night and sing, "The world we created"...beautiful.)
The thing is, this was not even Queen's audience! Many different people came to see different artists, yet Freddie, Roger, John and Bri all rocked them and made them go wild!
As others have said. I remember this day. My husband had to work but I was in front of the TV most of the day. Each performer/band had 20 min. If they went over microphones were cut off. Queen wanted to give the audience all they had even if they had to shorten songs a bit. Imagine. Almost two billion people saw this live around the world!
Crazy Little Thing was Freddie's homage to Elvis!
I love Queen. Freddie was an amazing frontman. Anything you play by them will always be right!👍🏾👵🏿🎶🤗🎵
That third song is called
“Hammer To Fall” it’s one of my favorites for sure, and the reason they did
“We Will Rock You” so fast is because they only had 20 minutes to play
This show was ranked the greatest live concert of all time!
Sooo glad you did this 😍😍😍 I was there 😍😍😍🥰👏🥰👏 Epic day and Queen stole the show ❤❤❤
You guys should check out an audience waiting for a Green Day concert to start...all singing Bohemian Rhapsody. It shows that even beyond the grave, Freddie has complete command of the crowd. Its amazing and kind of emotional when you imagine Freddie watching from the heavens. The crowd is on cue and on key. Goosebumps!
I saw that randomly a while ago. The crowd blew my mind with that
@@trossk it is absolutely amazing, I would almost dare to say that if you could get that song or any song that people are moved by and play it to that kind of crowd gathering in all the countries at the same time - you can't tell me that there can't be some sense of "world peace". Music is a language everyone speaks...just some of us (like me) can't carry a tune, but appreciate it all the same.
Seen it..bloody brilliant..see you up there soon..
The fact that Freddie and Queen still have this effect on people today is a testament to their music genius.
Only two Queens can command such audiences. HRH and Freddie Mercury!

The sound quality here is not to be believed. It's all there, every note in the depth and purity it deserves.
In my opinion, this was THE Greatest MOMENT in Rock History!
Now you know how Queen stole the show on July 13, 1985!
I bought my 1st VCR the day before specifically to record the entire 24 hour performance. I bought the DVD many years later, so I have literally enjoyed this performance 100s of times, and for the last 20 years, I celebrate the anniversary by watching again every July 13 at the same time of day as their performance.
Yours was the most joyful reaction to Queen/Live Aid that I've seen, and I knew it was going to be fantastic to share in your experience! Makes me feel like it's 1985 watching it LIVE all over again!
Love how you guys keep it real!
And I don't care what Wikipedia says, there just HAD to be 200,000 people there. Doesn't Wembley Stadium seat 80-100,000? The entire field was WALL to WALL people STANDING, packed together like sardines. I've been at a Rock Shows (Bowie, Stones) at 90,000 fans. This just HAD to be twice that!

Freddie was and still is the greatest showman he had that crowd eating out of his hand from the get go a tragic loss R.I.P to one of our greatest performers 💜💜💜💜💜
Please remember the audience were not necessarily Queen fans so their reaction and participation is the much more remarkable!

There will never be another Freddie Mercury. There will never be another band as phenomenal as Queen.
The remarkable thing about this Queen Set is that this is not a Queen concert - there were a load of different bands and singers that day. To get the whole of that crowd reacting like they did is just amazing. Freddy mercury was not well either and was advised not to do it. What do doctors know, hey? I was not there that day but watched it on tv, luckily I got to see Queen the following year at Wembley - Brilliant!!
Sad thing is that nowadays half of the people in the crowd would be holding up their phones and not living the moment as they should..
I know. Your memories are better than any photo or video.
I'm sure a lot of kids would go for chips in their brain to be attached to their phones now.
It's a fucked up world.

I’ll never forget that Saturday I watched Live Aid on my TV. There were about 60 bands that day and my jaw dropped at Queens performance. They blew everyone out of the water. There were 72,000 at Wembley, 90,000 in Philadelphia USA and watched by 1.9 Billion on TV around the world. The song you questioned is Hammer to Fall.
Youre a very lucky person
I’ll proudly say I was also in that 1.9 billion watching it on tv.
Same here. I was glued to the screen that day.
"watched by 1.9 Billion on TV around the world" is a false claim spread around by people with no logic, reason or education.
Same. We had an all day/night watch party at our house. Greatest lineup. Queen killed them all 🔥🖤
Queen’s roadie Peter Hince (AKA Ratty) said he went out and bought a heap of alarm clocks and set them up all around their rehearsal area, because each band got a 20 minute time slot and then they’d turn the sound off. So Queen practiced for two weeks, condensed the songs down so they could fit in as many hits as possible. They were thoroughly prepared and it showed. Some of the other bands were woefully unprepared. Queen were always professional and wanted to give a great show to the fans. 70,000 people at Wembley that day and they weren’t even all Queen fans because the tickets had sold out before it was even announced they would be playing. And look at them all, clapping and singing along, waving like an ocean current. What a spectacular sight and Freddie had the best view of all. There was love flowing right back at him. Only Freddie could inspire such devotion. Loved your reaction guys. Please do some of their early work, Stone Cold Crazy and Liar
Because there were many other bands performing there that day to benefit Live Aid donations, every band was limited to performing 20 minutes. That's why some of their songs were cut short...... so they could play several of them. So many hits. Glad you enjoyed this. They were a fantastic band. Miss Freddie. Thanks for reacting to it.
