Avec l’aide d’un réseau de résistants, ils organisent l’opération Anthropoid qui, si elle réussit, changera le cours de l'Histoire.

They were extremely brave. The Czech people don't get the recognition for this. Heydrich was a monster, cruel and vile. These people faught for their Country and freedom. The SS had the whole village of Lidice massacred in revenge however the bastard had to die. It sent a message to the Nazis

As a 63 yr old English man born WAY after the war. I'm so ashamed of the British government for selling out the Czech people in 38. Heydrich was a monster of the highest order, these men i hope got a place at the highest level in heaven for their bravery.. i salute every one of them, even after all these years... 👏👏👏
Whilst I'll agree that Czechoslovakia got screwed in 1938, it wasn't just Britain. The US was nowhere to be seen, the Soviets weren't about to help anyone and France had been bled dry by WW1. Realistically Britain did about all it could, which was almost nothing except start buying Spitfires, Hurricanes and Matildas
But I agree, the men, women and children of the various European resistance groups were genuine heroes of the highest orders

Had they not given away our natural defense against Germany we could of held them off had they tried to attack us. Attacking our mountain fortifications would of been as suicidal as attacking Switzerland.

Well acted and very well made. The guy playing the bastard Heydrich Reinhart looked so much like the real thing. I know the aftermath was brutal and cruel revenge, particularly on family of the resistance and Jan and Jozefs closest friends including some suspected family in Lidice, the village the Nazis massacred and burned completely to the ground. Atleast a very high ranking sadist was killed, they just didn't know at the time the bomb had ripped Reinharts insides apart. Brave courageous men and women fighting for their Country and freedom!!! God bless these Czechoslovakian people in 1942 and those souls who perished under the SS Gestapo before, during and afterwards. #GodblesstheResistance

I've read that the Czechs held out in the church for six hours or more against many 100s of Nasis! Towards the end the ones still alive killed themselves rather than be taken alive. Best film I've seen on the event! The Nasis' brutal reprisals on the Czechs after Heydrich's death were horrendous. This film leaves a lasting realistic impression of the history of that war. Thanks!

The TV production 'Operation Daybreak' was just as good!
A great portrait of 3 brave men motivated by pure patriotism who went against great odds and succeeded. After Poland was completely pacified, Czechoslovakia was probably next. Incredible last stand at the end.
Czechoslovakia got pacified without a single shot fired before WW2, therefore before Poland. Munich agreement or as it is locally known there "Munich betrayal"...

Poland lost nearly 20 per cent of it's population from 1939 - 1945.
Poland was never completely pacified! Ever heard of the 'Warsaw Uprising'?

This movie replicates the old movie operation daybreak...I see alot of similarities in this movie when being compared with the one I watched during my childhood

I mean, the actors did a great job, but what do you mean by "look slavic"? Even if there was anything really unified amongst the slavic nations (there is not, especially appearance), Czechs are equally slavic and germanic anyway with the czech language being the only really fundamental slavic thing in their culture / ethnicity.

Think about it, if you sat around for a year & tried to makeup a compelling movie script, you could NVR top WW2 & this was real, the fear & bravery & strength people must have had is like superhuman & the evil too, inthralling to say the least, I feel brave, but I think I woulda wilted in a second
I knew a Polish lady captured by the gestapo and wanted by the NKVD. After the war, she was medivaced out of the concentration camp to london. I met her in 1960. She saved my life and taught me compassion. My heroine
The shaky camera affect ruins this. Tripods are now cheap and plentiful. About 20 bucks at Walmart.

I just don’t understand how in the 7 years since this movie has been out. (I’ve long known about the operation) I am just now coming across it. Even as I would use keywords such as espionage, operations, s.o.e., even flat out spy.

Why it is important to have a well armed civilian population that can wreak havoc on an invading army.
This was a horror! How do people get as depraved as Heydrich and those who were like him?
The personal satisfaction of having power over others and the ideological indoctrination that teaches people that they would be superior an others would be inferior, second class, less human/intelligent/healthy/sentient and so on than oneself.
It can happen again.. People are blaming people of other races in CRT and claim they are on the just and correct side of history and use cancel and boycott to instill fear and division amongst your fellow man. Its the same techniques only different groups of people and a different time. First it is forced through intimidation and media,then it becomes common and accepted by the majority who remain silent or participate... then it... becomes law through government officials using it to gain votes and power.. then people like heidrich will appear and step up to the plate. Does this answer your question ?

The allies pretty much had a shit response to the individual countries. They excelled at manpower and fighting but that's about it.
I don't agree, this operation made the Munich agreement invalid, and Czechs got back the Sudetenland

Operation daybreak (1975-76) was a better movie.
OD: Yes, it held a lot of suspense and had a good soundtrack. The Man with the Iron Heart focused a lot more on Heydrich. All three movies have their parts to play.

The only resistance that mattered during world war 2 was the Czechs. Reinhard Heydrich had to go. His death was a major blow to the Nazis and probably helped end the war faster as Heydrich was about to be sent to Paris when he was shot. Had he been stationed there, operation overlord would have more than likely been a failure as there would have been next to no French resistance left

Ti kluci, byli opravdu neskutečně odvážní. Nejhorší na tom všem je, že nešlo o spontánní akci, ale o propagační akci exilové vlády v Británii. V té době měla vetší popularitu vláda v SSSR a tak atentát na R.Heydricha byla akce spíše k propagaci vlády kolem E. Beneše. Český odboj je velmi důrazně varoval a zrazoval, že přijdou extrémní odplaty. Varování byla ignorována (klasika jako dnes.. politika je více, než váš život)...a po atentátu přišlo období brutálních masakrů a násilí. Ale vláda v Anglii toto prezentovala jako vlastní schopnost bojovat proti okupaci ( ono se totiž velmi krásně bojuje za stolem s hrnkem čaje) . Je to hnusné, protože v první řadě nešlo o R. Heydricha ale o zviditelnění upadající české vlády v Británii, která byla velmi pasivní v letech 1937 +, a normální lidé většinou přecházeli ke Komunistické straně. Jsem Čech a měl jsem díky bohu možnost se v rámci historie dostat hlouběji , než jak je běžné. Když jsem dokoukal tenhle film takmě napadla jen jedna věta.. " zasraná politika!! "

Good Film. BUT??? It seems that an awful lot of SS soldiers died in and around the church battle (good, if so) ... BUT was this a reality? It seems they were "taken out" too easily. In reality, German losses were what?
The fight lasted about 7 hours (six men against eight hundred). In the end the Nazis had 4 injured, the paratroopes all died (1 from battle injuries a 5 committed suicide).
