You have to remember that Loretta was abused and came from a not so nice home from the past so she probably had to fight for her food and itâs still in her mindset, which is so sadđ

Leave the old bowls in the pen so Loretta can carry those around and hide them, until she gets use to not carrying off the new bowls.

The cat I adopted from a rescue he was in a cat room with six other cats for over a year. I guess they'd eat every bit of food. He still, after 12 years, always finds something in the house to carry to his dry food bowl to cover up any uneaten food he has, despite there being no danger of anything else eating his food. If I leave either bathroom door open he will pull the towels down to use them to cover his food. He very carefully arranges the food covering to avoid his water dish. The other day he shredded up part of a roll of craft paper to cover his food with. I have decided to buy some hand towels just for him to use over his food. Poor old guy, he must've been hungry at the shelter that he was in for over a year. I decided to adopt the cat no one else wanted, the one that probably needed a home and love the most. Because of my cat and his food issues I can understand why Loretta might have some need to guard to want all of her food to herself, poor girl.
You have made a difference in his life! I rescued a cat one year on vacation, I had him 20 years. He was the best cat I ever had, he acted grateful all his life and I cried bitterly when he died. The best rescue ever!
Leave some other bowl in there for Loretta so that she can carry it around whenever she wants. đ

It looks like Loretta doesn't finish her meal all in one sitting, so maybe that's why she picks her bowl and carries it off at the end. She is trying to save it for later and keep Gus from finishing her bowl off.

I would be a little concerned about food falling around the corners and attracting pests, but, they'll probably get fancy about eating so they don't lose any. I think Loretta actually seemed relieved in some kind of way. She seemed like she was saying thank you.
This was a great episode... I love all of your thoughful inventions. I watch a lot of farm families on CZcams that are wonderful but none supercede you and Brooke for love and care and not to mention fun personalities!

I'm sitting here watching you guys, Jason was pouring coffee. I was eating coffee ice cream in a coffee cup. I always have ice cream in a cup. My hand doesn't get cold like it would holding a bowl.
I liked watching Loretta run with her bowl. I thought of it as part of her personality and it was a fun game for her to watch you try to find her dish. I will miss that. Love their mud hole!
The only issue I have with the boxed in feeders for the Honeymooners is that, food can fall under the feeder on the four corners of the box. Pigs root and if Loretta or Gus get to rootin because the of the food building up under those four corners⊠that wood wonât make it. I liked Brookeâs idea. Short chain on the feeder so they canât get wrapped up in it. Iâm usually behind you all the way Jason, but them pigs might break the wood eventually. Fingers crossed đ€
