How did Ukrainian forces manage to pull off a complex and dangerous amphibious raid into the western part of the Crimean Peninsula? And how might it have paved the way for Ukraine’s major strike on the headquarters of Russia’s Black sea fleet in s evastopol? On August 24th a few hundred elite commandos arrived on shore via speed boats. They targeted the Russian Nebo-M and Kasta 2E2 Radar stations that monitor from Crimea to Kherson, detecting aircraft, drones and incoming missiles. Destruction of these radar assets are key to opening up a gap for future missile strikes here. I guess that’s one way to avoid all the Russian landmines, just motorboat your way around it.

Attacks inside Crimea have become a world wide debate recently. There were Recent reports that Elon Musk told his engineers to not turn on the Starlink satellite network over Crimea in order to prevent a Ukrainian planned attack on the Black Sea fleet stationed in Sevastopol in 2022. A solid GPS connection is often required by the guidance systems in precision missile systems. Complicating matters, US sanctions against Russia may have prevented Musk from turning the satellites on and he was never ordered by the US Government to do so. Musk said he feared a major attack here would make him complicit in a major act of war. Defenders of this action claim it avoided world war III meanwhile Ukraine on the other hand claims this allowed the Russian navy to continue to fire cruise missiles on their cities which killed innocent people.
The recent amphibious assault and missile attacks on the black sea fleet on Crimean soil was previously unimaginable so what new conditions allowed for this strike? The action actually started the day prior on August 23rd when Ukraine destroyed a Russian S-400 air defense system in Crimea at the same exact area where special forces would land the very next day. Drone footage was released as evidence of the S-400 blown to pieces. To give you an idea of how valuable these are one battery of the export version costs around $500 million dollars. The attached Podlet K1 Radar allows it to detect and strike aircraft up to 400km at an altitude of around 30km. This weapon is seen as one of Moscow's most prized assets so its destruction leaves the Crimean air defense network weakened.

If you know much at all about British Commando raids in World War 2 and other lesser known conflicts like the Falklands War...well...this reaks of British ops. So I would indeed believe this is the group that trained under the Brits. There was one particular raid in WW2 where British commandos landed on a German beach and while under fire they managed to hold the enemy off long enough for the engineers to literally take apart a radar dish of all things lol. They successfully made it back to their small fast boats and back to England with the equipment. Sounds like they studied commando operations and decided to imitate that raid to an extent.

Another CZcamsr was exalting at the amphibious landing (and I understand why), but I had to point out that it felt much more like Vaagso or Lofoten Islands than D-Day.
It really is a textbook commando raid.
Anyway, the Wurzburg raid was not a beach landing by commandoes, it was an airborne drop by paras (the original 2 Para!) and the dismantling of the radar was not done under fire, well, not much fire. The evacuation was by boat, but the landing was by air. They were not Commandos.

Regarding the gas rig raid - other sources say that the Ukrainian forces made it back safely, while Russia always claims it has destroyed the entire Ukrainian army several times over. What is clear however is that neither side currently has permanent presence on those rigs as they are too vulnerable for an attack.
Also it seems that the submarine is damaged even more than the ship and is likely beyond repair. And on top of that, it would take months to remove all this scrap metal from the dry docks, meaning they won't be able to service other ships. That's a double-whammy from Ukraine.

Ex. from this video "NEBO-M has detection range of 2800 MILES". It's closer to 1700 *KM* . Also his saying implying Starlink connectivity has something to do with GPS(it doesn't, GPS is a seperate satellite constellation run by US military) He also is getting political, even if he pretends not to be. Constantly pushing his border/cartel & "Chinese communist party" narratives.

@richarddarcy6945 I hate Putin. But you have to understand if you are neighboring an empire, there're things that you can and cannot do. Had the ukrainians understood that, 400k plus kias would be alive today in ukraine, and 14 million people wouldn't had run away from Ukraine. And Crimea would be ukrainian. Very simple really.

There's absolutely no doubt those Ukrainian soldiers were trained by British Royal Marine Commandos, and dare I say it, the SBS.
    Slava Ukraini ❤
