There have been crazy ridiculous cases like this, I recall one where the burglar (actual thief with intention to steal) broke into a house through the roof, fell through the ceiling and on top of the kitchen where a knife injured the thief. He (the burglar) sued the owner and won. Now that’s ridiculous.

I would've been upset if he was fined for what he did. He had the right to use his weapon to protect himself and others, as well as he exercised caution by not shooting her, but instead fired a warning shot. I don't think he could've been fined for those two things. The law can be unfair at times, but it's the law and that's just how it is. I'm saddened by her injuries, but I didn't think he was responsible for them, especially when he used caution to fire a warning shot instead of shooting her. 👏

But then she states “I’m a 6 foot red head, I can be seen easily”. Naturally woman are not 6 foot so if I saw her shadow, I would think it’s a male. Which brings up more concern also, considering it is pitch black so there’s no way we could’ve seen that. She’s a redhead and 6 foot. The woman is ridiculous with her statements.

I have never ben a zombie to the point that I would walk into the wrong house as a result of fatigue, but I understand how such a mistake could happen. I understand the homeowner's point of view too though. If you are startled awake at 2 am you are not going to make calculated and rational decisions about what to do to the intruder. You are in survival mode. To her credit at least the nurse did not make excessive demands for money. She did ask for a reasonable amount, and was not trying to play the system.

I think her dad probably encouraged her to sue the man. The dad was really into defending her for her mistake but he didn’t realize it was her mistake that caused her injuries.

If you're so tired that you can't even tell that a home is not your father's home then you are way too tired to be driving! That's what nuber is for if you gave the address to the Uber driver I guarantee you would have wound up at the right place

The defendant should have been taking the responsibility for getting herself hurt by mistakenly entering the wrong house, and her father should’ve pointed out that fact for her. The plaintiff made a comment to the defendant how to protect himself he should have locked the door and turned on the light. Here my 2 cents advice for the plaintiff, how about keep your eyes opened so you don’t enter the wrong house which clearly have made you become the intruder.
