      I have the IPD stops on mine, and to be quite honest, I don't use them anymore. Unless you put on your helmet in the exact same spot every time, you're going to have to either shift your helmet slightly to get that 'perfect' eye box, or adjust the pods ever so slightly. After playing with mines for almost a year now, it's actually just easier and faster to use it w/o the IPDs.

    Thank you for pointing out 10160 vs 11769 Tubes. Just one question: Why does the connector to be modified: I imagene a simplier solution like an adapter, or a socket that just has 2 out of the 3 connector pinned. By this, a 10160 housing could use 11769 Tubes, rendering the owner of the tube more versatile: If he can from than on put 11769 into every device. As this "idea" is not hard to think about, I guess there will be an answer as why this isnt offered on a regular basis already? I would appreciate your comment. As always: Great content TNVC and its Staff is producing! Thanks again

      Basically yes, however actual 10160 tubes will generally have a lower maximum gain. The term auto gain is kind of misleading in terms of what it does. It’s just the ABC (automatic brightness control) that all tubes have. With your -14s on a bright moon night if you’ve ever noticed them dim when going from dark to bright, that’s the ABC, so that’s how the DTNVS will perform. 👍

    Hi Nitewalker, quick question. I'm new to the night vision arena and I watched a shit ton of your vids and other channels before finally making a purchase. I ended up getting the PVS 14 Photonis Echo white phosphor. Very pleased with it's performance. Here's my question. Upon using them for only the fourth time, the tube burned out on me. I stored them in a hard shell case with the battery out and only used them at night and never pointed them at any bright lights. The dealer I purchased from was super quick in trading me out for a new monocular, but now I'm super nervous about using them. How fragile are these night vision devices? Can far away street lamps cause a tube to burn out? The night it actually burned out was pitch dark, not even a street lamp, but the other nights there were far away lights and an occasional vehicle passing by in the distance. The dealer had to take my word for it that I wasn't a dumbass using it in daylight, but still, I can't help but wonder if I did something wrong? Anyway, I really appreciate all your videos. I know it's a lot of work editing and uploading them for us to watch. You the man.

    • @NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION
      @NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION  Před 3 lety +1

      It’s very rare for tubes to just die. What might have happened and I’m curious if they actually swapped out the tube, is that tube lock ring inside the housing pops loose, and the tube looses contact with the electrical connections from the battery compartment. That can happen by dropping it or if whoever assembled it threaded it incorrectly.
      In either case, they got you squared away which is the important thing. Don’t worry about hurting it from regular use. Modern tubes are pretty tough. Don’t shine lasers into them, stare at bright lights for too long, don’t leave it turned on if you’re not using it, don’t use alkaline batteries or leave the battery inside when storing it. 👍

    can you in a future vid name some Canadian available nvg's or websites to buy off of that can ship to Canada? ITAR is a bitch and really ties up the opportunity to buy them with how few Canadian companies sell nods.

      It’s a great idea but that’s better done by a Canadian. There NV companies in the USA who ship to Canada are practical zero and would be companies who are only selling to the military.

    Speaking about tube selection. I wanted to get a pair of DTNVS but couldn’t decide between (Photonis Echo+ white phosphorus) or (Photonis 4G white Phosphorus) I need someone’s opinion PLEASE

      I'd put your money into tubes vs the housing. Go RNVG if you're trying to save some bucks and get the best tubes your budget will allow.

      @djeemetryphebe4303 Před 3 lety +1

      @@justincasey Same here I put tubes before housing. Where I’m buying at for the same tube you buy for a DTNVG cost 2000$ more in a DTNVS. I had to get DTNVS cause they have no other night vision in stock. RNVG might have good quality tubes but I’m a sucker for articulating nods🤤

      @@djeemetryphebe4303 Completely agree about articulating nods. nightgoggles.com has DTNVS's for $7k. Just orderered a pair today, you need to be on their emailing list. They sell out b4 getting posted online.

      Definitely. Tubes are the most important thing. But if you want an articulating goggle this is the way to go. Otherwise the RNVG is a lower cost bomb proof goggle

      @Wayward Airsoft TNVC state's the new drop test for the DTNVS's is 2 meters, instead of 1 meter like for the DTNVG's. Not saying the DTNVG's couldn't pass as well, but dropping from 6 feet & they still work fine? That's gotta be built like a tank.
