Ivain, New Orleans has Spanish colonial buildings. The architecture of the French Quarter is actually Spanish. To pay a war dept, France gave up control of Louisiana to Spain from 1763 to 1803. This is why old San Juan looks like New Orleans and many other Spanish colonial cities. Great video.

No it’s not. It’s just some people who choose to wear it. The same thing in Washington DC

They are away from downtown San Juan. I didn’t get a chance to see them. I will have to check it out another trip. Due to the influx of people coming in , the locals are pushed further further out

Some people still do all around the US. It’s just not mandatory anymore.

Puerto rico culture is very restrictive I believe its the effects of colonialism for hundreds of years. The PR senate is now required to use masks 😷 so most people follow along. But like I said it’s a very bureaucratic culture and politicians love that.
