    I’m so tired of nightgowns, trench coats, underwear, nakedness and the worst: street/business clothes in classical opera. I have zero idea why all the commedia dell’arte clowns are crawling everywhere at either rate it’s interesting somewhat. This soprano is doing her best it does just sound like a siren though. Anyway.

      Clowns are Pulcinella, the neapolitan mask - because the opera is set in Naples. This staging doesn't seem so bad. For the rest I fully agree with you. Costumes in opera today seem to come from Zara or H&M.
