- Lea Desandre is the most adorable Urbain on the planet and no that is not debatable.
Here the charming little page delivers a letter addressed to one Raoul de Nangis (John Osborn), while pursued by le Comte de Nevers (Alexandre Duhamel) who thinks it's for him.
Enjoy Desandre's unbelievably cute, wonderfully genderfluid, absolutely phenomenal Urbain sing this fun and catchy number from a much-underrated opera, Les Huguenots.
From the Genève 2020 production.
Lea is absolutely INSANE!! I am speechless every time
Wow! I am speechless! What an amazing, beautiful, talented singer! It seems effortless for her! Great stage presence! I hope I can see more of her in opera! You deserve more recognition!

Incredible😊😊😊
j adore
when I heard first time I imagined she wasn't a mezzo and now I'm sure she's not a mezzo, instead of she has a lovely lyric soprano voice
There was time when this was performed by lyric coloraturas.
A light mezzo-soprano for sure.
Vlada Sunlight was Falcón the model she was a dramatic soprano or mezzo
Bruna Gallon mezzos arent light
she's a mezzo, you're just not used to hearing a mezzo with a top that actually works
I could only dream of attaining this level of transmasc swag.
you & me both
A wonderful voice but not in grand opera. Many of the early music voices of which LD is a proponent have vocal training centered in the head and mask. There is never a fully integrated coordination between the head, chest voice and pharynx . The sound is too thin for this music . This kind of training limits the palette one has to sing with and oft uses vocal tricks to emphasize drama.
How pleasant it is to have a beautiful and cultivated voice in a grand opera. Big and broken voices like Netrebko - who else likes it? Desandre makes everything beautiful. Thanks! 🤗
