  • Hey everyone, I hope you guys are having a fantastic day! Today we review a guitar from one of the best brands you can buy used; a Laguna! This swamp ashed, carve top, loaded super strat can often be found for rock bottom prices in the used market, sometimes between $170-$250 (sometimes even less!) and is definitely an interesting axe! But, with all the great affordable guitars out there, is this worth a look? Let's find out!
Quick note when I was editing this video a small segment where I was talking about the higher end Laguna model was cut off. I deleted the original video and couldn't redo it but ot wasn't more than 5 seconds and I was calling out the next segment so I uploaded as is. Thanks for watching!

This is not a LE300. This is a LE422. These are very nice guitars!

I just bought one of these for $120. It plays better than my Ibanez S series that I paid over $700 for it. It isn't often that I get
    a deal like this.

I have a laguna LE400Q Blue..How I wish this brand would consider a come back..Laguna guitars kicks ass, theyre really solid guitar..planning to buy a LE300VSB-MN, I am interested of their locking tuners and with same pickup custom alnico..My LE400Q had a superb pickup really crunch and crisp!, very versatile!..If someone considers buying laguna guitars now?!, You are a winner!, before this guitars gonna run out of the old stocks because they dont make and sell anymore..Nice video!..

It was to be! I managed to sell off a cheap guitar to a shop that I had worked on and upgraded a little with parts from Ali Express I had laying around. There was only one Laguna LE 300 on Reverb and I talked him down 40 bucks, so all in all I'm into this budget beast 92 bucks shipped to my door! 😀 Thanks for the great review that convinced me to pick one of these up, the value for the money is insane.

Oh wow! That's a fantastic deal for an LE300! Great job! Enjoy!

@@RafsGearReviews Thanks dude, the Laguna is 211.10 USD grand total, but with the guitar I sold and the amount I paid for the Ali Express parts that's a 92 dollar Laguna LE 300 for me, and I have locking tuners and noiseless springs waiting for it. 😁

@@FretLevelMidnight Nice! They do come with locking tuners but the top lock ones. Did you get the more conventional wheel lock tuners?

@@RafsGearReviews Oh wow, they already have locking tuners, yeah, I have some 6 inline thumb-spoke/vice style lockers on another guitar I'm going to put Graph Tech Ratios on eventually, I may just leave the lockers that are on the Laguna now that I know that, thank you!

@@RafsGearReviews Does the tremolo have a hex set screw and rubber sleeve? Also, how is the fretwork? And would you consider upgrading the pickups, or are they really that good in your personal opinion?

You're absolutely right. It feels like a high quality instrument for sure. Frets are nice and level, frer edges are nice, neck is super solid. Really cool guitars!

You only have half the story. I have my LE422 for so long and it is the best guitar I have owned, and I have owned professional grade gear. I am an engineer so I can set mine up perfect, action is low, tremolo stays in tune (98%) even after very aggressive use and I float mine. I use the Laguna specs to baseline any other super Strats I set up. The reality is some guitars setup better than others and my Laguna is perfect. I paid like $117 for it and now needs a refret, hard to justify a $300 refret but odds of getting such a perfect playing instrument is rare or ridiculously expensive. May suck it up and put Jumbo SS frets.

Thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate it. I've been trying to shorten my 15 minute reviews to 8-10 but I forgot to talk about a few things. I also had an issue editing the video and a bit of content was lost. Thank you for warching!

Ugh, now I want one of these as my "road guitar"... What's the weight like on this one, Raf? There's 1 on Reverb, maybe if I'm lucky the stars will align and I'll actually be able to land it.
