Very well made tech video with clear explanations and proper, calm music. No big Ego, no hard sales prop, no screaming music or violent camera moves - just the clean tech. Thanks. Btw, very useful for a MacBook owner, considering putting an ssd in his old machine.

I just upgraded my mid-2010 MBP with 16G of ram. Something to note: after restarting there were 2 processes (rpcsvchost and MRT) that used 100% cpu for several minutes, then all was good. Already running High Sierra with an SSD.

The mid-2010 13” MacBook Pro is unique (for its time) in being upgradeable to 16GB; I have one running Catalina via the dosdude patcher. It is a shame the 2009 17” didn’t use the same nVidia platform controller, so can only go to 8GB.

Hello, thank you for a great tutorial! I followed your instruction. Upgraded mine to 8 GB RAM and a Crucial SSD 1TB, but somehow when I turn my MBP 2010 on, I get the white screen with cursor only. I tried rebooting holding down the shift key then it shows the folder with a question mark. I would appreciate your help to get me to the install disc option.

    Hi, thanks for the video.
My issue is that the boot doesn't work after upgrade. Even with alt tab, or cmd+r or I tried everything it never comes to a screen with a choice to boot from a USB key and the internet recovery stays stuck.
I don't have anymore CD for boot
Do you know why by holding alt tab pressed during power on it doesn't show me the options of disks for boot?
    Thank you

Thanks for making and sharing this helpful video. I have a MacBook Pro Mid 2010. I used to use Final Cut Pro and it was working fine but now it’s very slow even though I don’t use any heavy software on it. I actually haven’t used it for some time now.
Could you suggest me a software or tool to check the issues please?
I also would like to upgrade it, so could you suggest me what part I can upgrade and what maximum capacity I should get for those parts? Thanks in advance.

You might be tackling the problem for the wrong side. You be using heavier video formats for your editing, 4k video or even 1080p, but better quality.. just a hint. Hope this helps

i would say either a unibody 2012 macbook pro 15” with the high res screen or something like a 2015 retina macbook. if you wanna cheap a bit have really good portability the older ipad pro with high refresh rate has the best looking display and is arguably faster then the 2012
