I replaced the PRAM battery but I don't remember where the copper connector part goes if it's on the inside or outside of the PRAM battery I couldn't see it in your video.

I just upgraded my mid-2010 MBP with 16G of ram. Something to note: after restarting there were 2 processes (rpcsvchost and MRT) that used 100% cpu for several minutes, then all was good. Already running High Sierra with an SSD.

As I was born in the late 60’s I remember the Sears catalog and watched family place orders. Also there was a Green Stamp program. When buying item’s at participating stores people would fill out a Stamp page and would get specific item’s like Dinnerware and China. Definitely a more kinder gentler era.

I remember in the 70s mom would buy our school clothes from the catalog. We could spend hours flipping through the pages. I remember watching her open all the packages.

I’m sad my son will never experience the joy and anticipation of a new toy catalogue at Christmas. My brother and I would pour over it circling all the things we wanted but knew we’d never have. We grew up very poor 6 kids on a pastors salary with a stay at home mom. Mom would bring us to the mall to Sears and we loved going in KB Toys and Toys R Us

At 25:50, I recognized a cookbook that my Grandma must have bought when first published: The White House Cook Book, claiming to be the authentic recipes served by the famous chefs who served presidents, kings and foreign heads of state... If the chefs served meatloaf and chicken stock, they ate pretty well! I have the 1942 replica Wish Book, and gives me great insight into my parents' youth between the Depression and the US entry into WWII. Thanks for posting!

I grew up living out of the country,1 of 5 children originally from the stat of Texas, and every December the large boxes from Sears arrived we knew Christmas had arrived. Paging through the catalog was the greatest of pass time

One important thing. While receiving the new catalogue was a glorious day. It also ment the old catalogue was sent to the outhouse. Talk about useful from beginning to end. It captivated every kids imagination...I even grew up and worked on the production of the same catalogue...feeding another generations dreams.

Wow! a pre-woke American Experience! Not one word about the oppressed (fill in the blank with blacks, native americans, women, etc) being held down by the oppressors(white males). I recently watched "Riveted" about blue jeans, and yes, about every 10 minutes that "message" was injected into the story. If they made the Sears Catalog today, there would be segments about how poor black children were excluded from playing with Lionel trains due to economic repression. Or about the racist salt and pepper shakers that Sears sold then. The American Experience used to be a great program, but has been taken over by the DEI agenda.

I was a little kid during the 1960s. I was living in Korea bc my father was DoD contractor eorjing for the US army in Korea. During that time Korea was a under developed country. I remember browsing through Sears catologue books incredible toy section and drooling about Lincoln toy logs that came in large cans.

I enjoyed the film.

Was it page 501 or 601 it's a famous page. Sears didn't sell it,but every woman wanted one.

We got the Christmas catalog and mom and dad referred to it as the Wish Book.

I had a reprint of the 1908 Sears Catalog. On the front cover it said in flamboyant lettering that they will gladly send a free copy of this big catalog to any address on request. The modern editor of the reprint added a footnote: Offer expires December 31, 1908.

My Grandma Millie was Manager of the Women's Clothing Department for decades and she absolutely Loved her work. She walked to catch the Jitney and then the bus to get to Sears in Downtown San Francisco and she did this for 50 years. Wonderful memories and we children would look at her Sears Catalog all the time and wish.

Growing up in Anchorage, AK in the Fifties and later . . . Sears, MW and John Plains catalogs were in our house all the time. One could buy gunpowder, motorcycles, white buck shoes and everything else in the catalogs. Like magic if one is a child, the things would appear within two weeks or sooner. It was a year-around Christmas workshop that worked throughout the year. I was a really lucky child in this way. Somebody has surely made the comparison in the comments below, but at risk of duplication, the contemporary role of Sears was assumed by Jeff Bezos, starting as he did with books instead of watches. Nice documentary. This is American history at its best.

As a kid I used the Sears Catalog as paper dolls- playing with the cutouts for hours! The Christmas edition was the best.

I was born in 1974 so I was lucky enough to be one of the last generations of kids who had the privilege of waiting (not so patiently) every Fall for the Sears Christmas Wishbook. I can remember sitting on my belly on the floor in the living room and circling every toy that I dreamed Santa Claus would bring me. Well they called it a "Wish Book" for a reason because although I knew I would never get everything I wanted it was just so fun to dream. As I would circle all the things I wanted for that short time I felt like a child of privilege. Because it felt like I was actually shopping in a store and could get anything my heart desired! We were by no means poor but we were not well of by any means. I do however, remember one Christmas my Dad had worked a lot that year (he was an iron worker in Atlantic City and casinos were popping up everywhere) so I got almost every single thing I circled for the most part. I woke up that Christmas morning and there were presents EVERYWHERE! I am so sad to know that kids today will never get that experience and excitement that was already building for the upcoming holiday season but to add the Sears Christmas Wish Book on top of that! The kids today don't get to expethe fun of going to the mall at Christmas time or looking in the windows of department stores that are done up for Christmas. I do still hold onto hope now that we will tire of the online shopping and not being able to touch the things we buy before we buy them and actual brick and mortar stores will become a way of life again. Who knows I may be dreaming something very farfetched but a girls gotta dream right 😉

Our great aunts would order Sears & Montgomery Ward, and we would cut out paper dolls. I still have them, & they are between 60 & 65 years old. How I loved those paper dolls ❤
