Thanks for the travel vlog, have only been to Dublin once (to see Kraftwerk in concert- so good) but made sure to go to This is Knit while I was there, what a great shop. And so interesting to hear the guy on the train wasn't just making that story up. It so sounds incredible!

Love this episode! Scenes from Dublin/Trinity College brought back memories from my trip in 2017 and 19. Love This Is Knit shop every time I visit. Very friendly staff. Interesting story from the stranger on the train. We never know what our fellow man has experienced in their life. For example, my daughter recently climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, but if you met her you wouldn’t believe it. Looking forward to ordering yarn from your November update. I like your natural sock yarn.🧶 ❤❤❤

FUN post! I am in the U.S. and I so envy you all being able to so easily take trains to destinations. It is NOT like that here. Love the story of the painter/decorator, and that he had indeed been held hostage in Saddam Hussein's palace. Still chuckling here.

Isn`t it amazing what characters and/or situations one encounters sometimes. I think this story is one of importance. I think you will meet these people or situations for a purpose in life. I think they want to tell us something.
I see, that this man lives totally in the past. He has not yet been able to put his ordeal behind him. He keeps telling people about it, like a stuck record, over and over again. He needs to close that "book" of his life and put it into his life`s bookshelf, focusing on the next book or chapter. It is hard sometimes to do, because this new "book" has nothing concrete in it yet, just thoughts and imagination, because we live in the here and now, and it writes itself always out of the here and now. Only in hindsight we can make out the letters, sentences and the story, which we have manifested in. Hm, how about this: You are sitting in a train, moving forward, but you are sitting in the seat that faces opposite of the driving direction. It is like that: You are moving forward, but you can not see your destination, and looking at the past, the places you left behind. Now, make yourself sit in the other seat, facing forward. Now you can feel movement forward. You can`t see the destination yet, but you know you are on your way, and you are looking at your knitting, or the cabin you are sitting in, and at the present moment. And your new book writes the first brand new page: "Sitting in a train, going home; my hands are making that familiar movement of creating stitches on my knitting needles. I cannot see the finished result yet, but it is appearing slowly. Outside the window, shadowy trees rush by, merely dark pillars in a greyish fog. The warmth of the cabin is welcoming and the man opposite from me finally fell asleep......... I wonder what he is dreaming about......

Fáilte go mBaile Átha Cliath 💚 You were in the Books Upstairs café. They say it´s Dublin's oldest independent bookshop. If anyone is interested, Bewley's Oriental Café in Grafton Street is also worth a visit, it's very luxurios with loads of gorgeous stained glass windows. It's very popular, so reservations are recommended. Great video Emma !!! 😀
