Well done after years on GT5, 6 and Sport I've now been inspired to up the game for ACC so after watching this i went out and purchased some white pine to build the frame as i already have a couple race seats from real life projects. Great video.

this reminds me of my own stuff, i just had to build a table for my 3 screens, because now i use a Playseat with a real car sport seat.
I started with a T500 RS and 2 weeks ago i´ve got my new Thrustmaster TS-XW-Sparco and a Shifter. Finally after 5 years it is 95% complete,
i just need a Handbrake at least. But for iRacing it is more then enough, my own "Livingroom-Racecar" :D

Never say it's complete as it won't. You'll just end up buying something else (mods , wheels ,vr ,ext.)
This is awesome, you can build any rig into a badass rig that can compete with those 1000 dollar pre-builts, with just wood :P It's been 8 years and my wood rig is still strong. One of these days I should really take it all apart and refresh it with some new paint and maybe even get my damn dashboard put in.

Might be a dumb question but when you mounted the wheelbase and the shifter did you just use super long screws to secure them or did you just drill out a big deep hole into the wood to be able to use the hardware that originally came with the wheelbase and shifter
Did you buy different hardware to mount wheelbase, pedals and shifter to the 2x4s?
Bro hell yeah! I’ve been trying to build something like this but I couldn’t figure out what kind of seat or sliders to get… I was just gonna try to attach some sliders to a floor gaming seat. With gt7 bout to come out, I need something adjustable so my kids can play also. Do those Corbeau sliders work specifically for that chair or can u mount then to any kind of chair with some diy tricks?

I'm building my own simulator as well and was wondering how you mounted your handbrake to the wood. Like what did you use?
That teal and neo chrome wheel you got in back desk I just got mine in 2 weeks ago but I use the g29 motor still and I have buttons on it still just added the adapter to keep buttons and to help with calibration I use a quick release to make removing easy

building material was about 40$ and the seat was given to me by NRG Innovations they sponsor me but you can get a seat from 150-300

Oh my haha I didn’t even realize, but when I built my rig, it was 5ft long, and the 2 by 4’s in the mid were also 18 inches so we had like the same rig

The sides are 5 feet 2x4 the inner cross bars are 18 inch 2x4 and the angles parts started as 4foot 2x6 and got cut down to around 3 feet but that depends on how tall you want it for comfortably

yes, petting the dog is a necessary step
2x6 is not necessary. 2x4 for the base and the arms for the wheel with some 2x2 vertical supports (or just some triangular shaped old plywood boards for fixing the arm position) will be good enough; otherwise the whole thing will be very heavy. And you didn't seem to pre-drill any holes before putting in the screws. The wood will crack if you don't pre-drill holes, like at 11:40. The wood will crack up even more after you have used your rack for some time.
All of this is very good advice and yes predrilled would have been better i agree for sure
@@EvlRabbit07 No problem. I did my chicken coup, mobile chicken run, and work bench ... a couple of years ago. :) You can also stain it and sand it to make it look like a very classy piece of furniture that can blend very well to other things in your room. But that will be a lot more work. A couple of layers of good colored polyurethane will make it UV proof or even cool metal like too. LOL
@@ArthurHau well I work on cars and have welding certification so my next is a metal frame unless I go the baller NRG one lol
