Awesome job just a suggestion adding a small fan behind the air vent so when you turn the air on the fan blows out the vent , realism and help dry sweaty hands

Very impressive! I always wanted build a racing rig ever since I bought my racing steering wheel, but I'm on a tight budget. I did manage to take a foldable car seat from a mini van and build a custom chair out of it.
Same here currently in the process of building an old 2001 VW Polo racing simulator with working AC and a few more little features including a radio for music and wired up gauges at the end of the year or when I get most of the parts I will be posting on my channel the whole story so stay tuned if you want to see the finished result

This randomly popped up in my suggestions and it was worth every minute. Mad skills you got there and I love the attention to detail with the dashboard and everything else. Clearly a work of passion and care. Hope it drives/plays/sims as well as it looks.
I made some blueprints for a airplane cockpit for my house since we have a family airline business and we like air sims so this inspired me to continue with what I wanted to do

Moin, you made a fine RIG there
I'm more of a hobby at ACC at the Series X and just looked at what material had accumulated over the years.
I built my RIG completely out of wood and this is what it looks like now. It only has to be filled and then painted black with orange accents.
However, it has become quite massive (1.72 mx 1.20 m). I built in the Gamechair as only I am allowed to sit in it. So he didn't have to go on any rails.
Unfortunately, the options on the XBox are very limited.
I took the 3 vibrators + control from an old massage mat, screwed 2 of them into the seat and the third to the pedals. Connected via the subwoofer of the Gamechair. Not as optimal as on a PC, but the result is astonishingly good. Engine vibrations, curbs or gear changes are simulated well.
I can proudly say that I have made something fantastic for me out of "junk in the basement". Except for a few corners, I had everything lying around.
I think it's great when someone thinks about it and builds something for themselves. Anyone can buy ... 😄

one of the best DIY rigs I saw. thanks for taking the time to put the slideshow together. easy to follow if you want to do the same. Omly thing I would do different (Id did it for my rig" would be: go to offer up and search for any JVC home theater 5.1. I bought mine for $30 dollars and they work wonderful. You will love it. But other than that, congratulations, it looks amazing.

Lost count of how many times I've watched this! Wanted to do something similar since the 1st GT game came out on original PSX. (Few years ago now!) Finally got my dashboard, car seat and wheel, and I've built the base. Just need to crack on with it now. Hard to decide on a design though!

The level of detail you've gone for is impressive. I mean wiring up the fricken dash! Respect, although I'd imagine the compatibility between titles would vary? It's only a minor gripe, but the only thing I don't like is the visible speakers. Mind you I bet it sounds awesome. Good job Sir!

Love the build. The only problem I have is with that steering wheel... It's comically small. It looks like a Prius wheel, which is also comically small.
First major improvement for me would be to somehow incorporate the original E36 wheel into the ThrustMaster unit.

Do you have any measurements/building plans? I’ve been looking into building a sim cockpit and this is one of the most in depth videos I’ve seen except for measurements of the platform, and how to mount everything onto the 2x4’s. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
