      Yeah, highly recommended. With my cluster (e36), I used the plugs from the harness, so that the cluster can be easily taken out for whatever reason.

      look up Suzuki XBOX car. Most the articles you find are shit and not informative, but when it was debuted I remember hearing it was wired to use the steering wheel, pedals, and shifter for sim control.

    Its so cool that the actual milage of the cluster is going up, u should make a video how to reset the mileage, so you can see how much virtual miles you have driven!

      That would be more harder, you need to desolder the eeprom memory, reverse engineer how the value is stored, and write a new value. A 0km doesnt mean its a 0 in the eeprom.

    I've done it today..!!Fantastic work...Couldn't find where to put the protocol file cause i got the newest SimHub version and it is not in the same spot as the one shown in the video.
    For those who looking for it, it is in the arduino page/my hardware/multiple arduinos,you will see "multiple arduino settings,and the E36 device.Down below "Custom protocol" you press edit and the rest are like the video shown.

      RPM = 2
      Speed = 3
      MPG = 4
      Fuel = 5
      Temp = 6
      RPM and Speed use Tone signals, MPG, Fuel and Temp use PWM signals :D

      No, the E46 cluster is fully CANBUS for engine data. You could still use the cluster, with a CANBUS shield, as all of the messages are documented. But it would not work using this method.

    I have a sim rig based on an E46 dash with my old E36 gauges fitted that I have been trying to find info about this since the new year, this is going to complete my rig as I already have all the buttons working thanks to your button box guide. You really are a master of all things SIM!

      ​@@mitchdorosan9969i think if you find the right wiring diagram you can connect it following this video. Just keep in mind what wire connects to which connector on e36, and just translate it to e46 using e46 wiring diagram. Sry if i was a bit unclear but i think u will get the point 😅

    I made a E36 cluster work 4 years ago, before Simhub even existed. So much work for nothing. I moved to Simhub since then. :)
    Mine has some extra features. The lights are also wired in with simple NPN transistors. Some of them are tricky. Turn signals and high beam need to be switched to 12V to work, the rest need ground signal to light up.

    Two questions
    1.does the turn signals work and hazard lights?
    2.does the dashboard lights work like the handbrake light, high beams, check engine etc?

      The lights use 12V bulbs, you need transistors for them to work, and some extra code for the custom protocol.

      To make sure that it is compatible, it has to be a non-canbus cluster (takes in analog pwm or tone signals through dedicated pins).

      Picked one for 9£, toyota avensis cluster. Rpm meter goes up to 8 so its okay, make sure you don't get a diesel one...

      Kind of similarly as to how some RGB keyboards flash red and blue when you're being chased in GTA V. There are developer tools for pulling telemetry data from the game. I'm guessing the Simhub program does that job for you.

    why only BMW E36 Cluster ? is it possible to use the same steps you shown on other BMW clusters like E34 , E46 and E30 .thanks again and keep it up in the world of SIM.

      lights and the turn lights is not include in the code.
      I Use this e36 cluster Setup from amstudio with my ETS2/ATS Game.

      célian becquet if you know what the pinouts mean on the e36 cluster, just look for the pins with same function on the e39 cluster

      No I tried it and the E39 cluster has incripted signals that go to 3 modules 1 main 2 abs 3 some other ithat i Dont Know Soo u might be able to but its too much work ;DDD Sorry for my English

      The problem for the e39 is that it uses a can-bus system. That means its doesn't use one simple pin for rpm and speed.

    This is rad. I'm new to Sim rigs and pc racing. Irl I built a 95 neon sport coupe so I have a ton of spare parts left over so I'm definitely gonna be using my spare cluster on the Sim rig I'm building right now. I just need a dash and center console.

      The schematics include both gauges (tank/temp) and the last arduino sketch (22d) too. But I'm unable to make it work...
