The tip of your desolder pump is ptfe and effectively heat proof. This means you can push the tip right up against the joint and the iron just before pushing the button. On old boards it’s best to “tin” or apply a little solder to your iron tip then wipe on a damp sponge to clean prior to touching the joint. This will encourage the solder to melt easier because of the flux in the solder. You can buy flux paste/gel which will also assist in allowing the solder to reflow. Hope this helps.

Hi, the Sl70c doesn’t power on or the radar attached does not power up?
I'm dealing c80 with a no scanner and no data. Voltage is there in the radar itself at least the DC power in is reading 12. The power switch has continuity. All the pins in the back are there. But the radar won't power up and spin and it's saying no scanner and no data. When I scroll the diagnose mode it says no scanner and the software version is 0.0. I am perplexed. This is my first experience with these. Any input would be valuable. Does it need a new card?
The card in the back of the c80 is one of the other common failure issues. Do you get values close to these from the c80 end and the cable connected to the scanner? forum.raymarine.com/attachment.php?aid=3890
