Oxhorn the sweet roll is a reference to skyrim. From what I can tell it's the theme song of skyrim just broken up into a small part each time you pick it up. Also nice video.

  • @Connor_Tyler

The Sweetroll is a Bethesda in-joke. Sweetrolls are a staple of the _Elder Scrolls_ games, especially _Skyrim._ The chanting you hear is part of the _Skyrim_ main theme, "Dragonborn." If you recall, there's even one in _Fallout 3;_ Old Lady Palmer gives you a Sweetroll for your 10th birthday. It's become something of a meme, since one of the guards' idle dialogue lines in _Skyrim_ is about how you're so weak, "Aw, did someone steal your Sweetroll?"

Dump a ton of those sweetrolls somewhere and pick them up quickly one at a time. The sounds are actually in order, not randomized. It plays Skyrim's theme, a gutteral chanting in the dragon language.

Oxhorn the grunting sound you're hearing is the very beginning of the song for The Elder Scrolls Skyrim called Song of the Dragonborn. They had 30 people chant in the language they created called Dovahzul. They layered it over three times so it sounds like 90 people singing in the language they made. It is a very wonderful reference to their best selling and most modded game franchise besides the Fallout Series. The reason it happens is because the "Classic Sweetroll" Is literally the sweetroll from skyrim just ported over to Fallout 4.

The Classic Sweetroll is definitely a Skyrim reference. It looks identical to the Sweetroll from that game (of which guards often ask if someone stole your sweetroll which is itself a reference to Fallout 3) and the sounds you are hearing when picking it up sound very much like you are getting the notes of the theme of the Dragonborn. I suspect if you made a lot of them and picked them up in sequence you could effectively play the theme song.

Raven Bloodbane it's been around since daggerfall :) when you created your character you could answer a bunch of questions and it would tailor a character around your answers. Sweet rolls were involved in, how you would deal with a bully trying to steal your sweetroll. It was similarly referenced in Morrowind character creation and was later added to the game via modding community who were obsessed with it being referenced but not in game lol. Bethesda has since made it an inside joke that still hasn't died. Such a long standing joke carried over through the games is just another reason why we love our Elder Scrolls and Fallout so much :D

I know I’m late to the party but I’ve been playing fallout 4 again and the donut shop is by far my favorite creation club. I role play as the ceo of slocums Joe and I’ve built many shops all across the commonwealth. Some places aren’t fitting for a donut shop so I normally turn them into farms/ranches and pretend they supply my shops with milk, grain, and fruits. Tarberries and mutfruit are imagined to be used for the donut filling. I even build factories to be manufacturing/distribution facilities. Vault 88 is my hq.

Also, regarding the weapon paints; the closest folk get to "painting" their guns is a process called "cerakoting," that people mostly use to just accent parts of the weapon. Some people have examples of lavish designs and color combinations that has resulted in the back-handed complement of "Gucci-Guns."

Will settlers use the arcade machines? MxR claimed they don't, but that feature was already in the Vault-tec DLC for the slot machine so it would be strange if it was left out of this. It would also seriously hurt the value of the arcade workshop as settlement DLC if nobody even uses it.

Hi Oxhorn, I've found Brahmin Milk in random rubbish bins, crates, in general loot drops. Still quite rare drops though unfortunately, as like you, I thought that we'd may be able to milk a Brahmin for the milk! The Slocum Joe merchant will also sell the milk.
Also, I've just found another Slocum Joe's loot spot. If you stand at Faneuil Hall, head north/slightly north-east along the road until you see a blue skyscraper with a yellow-orange bus sticking out of it. Go into the building via the bus door, and there is another cafe inside with Slocum Joe's crates and goodies (just beware if you've not cleared the outside of Faneuil Hall, as there is a Suicider Supermutant running about.
    Loving this CC mod, though!

The Sweetroll is a staple for many of Bethesda's games, and could be considered a running gag. The joke itself originated in The Elder Scrolls: Arena where, at the beginning of the game, one of the class-determining questions is
"While in town the baker gives you a sweetroll. Delighted you take it into an alleyway to enjoy, only to be intercepted by a gang of three kids your age. The leader demands the sweetroll, or else he and his friends will beat you and take it."
    Old joke is old.

The sweet roll reference is originally from TES III: Morrowind. At the start of the game, you can go through hypothetical situations to choose your class, one of them is a "gang of three other kids your age" who want to steal your sweet roll, which they added into Fallout 3 as a scenario, then carried the joke over into Skyrim.

Example being Preston's fascination with the memorial and bridge, them taking the nomenclature minutemen etc.... you may want to see them in your way, and they may not want to re-make pre war America in the state right before the bombs fell. But they have a vested interest in the historical past
