From enormous robo-scorpions and storm infused Goliaths to earth shattering mining equipment and the series tallest, deadliest and most patriotic character, their impact on the series has understandably been pretty substantial.
In todays video we are running through the known lore for all of Fallout’s biggest robots focussing on their creation, the problems each faced in production, their impact on the series as a whole and some deeper mysteries.

Liberty Prime hollering about stomping Communism out of existence while ruthlessly crushing Enclave forces and the “spiritual” successor of the pre war government of America is a kind of rich irony that only the senate, excuse me, Palpatine could appreciate in it’s entirety.
It gives me a chubbers :3
Liberty prime is a good man
@@WangNurMouth I’ll allow it, because I despise liberal “democracy” with prejudice.
@@kiokyyikunewe need him for RL congress!😂
Love the Storm Goliaths a very unique solution to Fallouts giant robot power problem. If Stolz ever made a mobile weather machine the Goliaths would be an unrelenting force in the wasteland.
Is the "unrelenting force" a skyrim joke?
I think the Big MT were doing something like that so had the war not happened it could have been a thing
Two words, nuclear winter | edit: 3 actually lol, nuclear winter mode*
I think that the Chimera and Spider Drones actually existed. Ironically, the equipment inaccuracies gives some evidence. All of the weapon inaccuracies you mentioned for the American side (Fatmen, the newer Vertibird model) were still projects that were conpleted pre-war. That means that the weapons used in the simulation had some basis in reality, even if the time frame is off. That means there has to be *some* basis for the Chimera tanks and Spider Drones.
I mean, we know for a fact that the other equipment used for the Chinese in the simulation actually existed (the stealth suits, assult rifles, and the general's shock sword).
Originally there was a holotape on the VSS terminal which had a conversation between two of the sims devs where they mention the Chimera by name, as being the main point of contention. That being said, we've seen other pre-existing high-tech mining robots so they might have already been there for the Chinese to build off. It certainly makes it more interesting so I hope they both were!
If I recall the Chimera was a "grunts and crafts" project with it's actual existence in question but I do believe the mines were real to some extent. Plus no IFF in the mines sounds like a communist "feature" as well.
@@UraniumFever76In 76 you can find folks talking how to scrap the engine on one of those on a terminal, since apparently they were struggling with the gas engine.
Here’s my head cannon for Liberty Prime. The Brotherhood needed to head back west but Liberty Prime couldn’t fit on the Prydwen assembled and disassembling would be to risky/impossible. So they just set a destination on the West coast and had him walk there. The Brotherhood knowing he’s basically invincible figures he won’t have any problem crossing the country. They would probably install a tracker though… just in case.
I know it is dumb and completely inaccurate but seeing Liberty Prime interrupt the battle of hoover dam would be the best moment in fallout
God the idea of stories of a giant metal man storming the east, obliterating whatever scattered factions remain of Caesar's Legion is amazing, I love it
Recently read the rabbit hole that shows all train-tracks and anything that needs to fit on it are "the width of two horses' asses" and I'm sad that Liberty Prime couldn't fit into that canon.
This is another great video, here's hoping that Vault 63 will be further expanded upon in a future update cause my favourite robots have to be the storm goliaths.
Thanks very much! Agreed they were a really good addition. I enjoyed all the tie-ins to other lore added with the update (Calvert, the Think Tank etc)
@@UraniumFever76 I'm interested in seeing what connections to the Think Tank you found
@@tinaherr3856The vault had some different rounds.
That fact that theres people that actually believe Frank Horrigan is stronger than Liberty Prime makes me laugh.
They believe anything before Bethesda is better, no matter how obviously stupid those idea is, if it make no sense then it make all sense for them since it’s not Bethesda
Nostalgia rarely clouds the mind. This is one of those times.
@@justnoob8141oop we’re generalizing, not sure who “they” is but I bet very few of them believe Frank is actually physically stronger than liberty prime.
You as the player character destroy prime in 4, frank would have 10 times over, nothing could change my mind and the minds of the only true Americans left
@@connorgrant8206 by that logic, all of the legendary weapons in fallout 4 are canon, including bottomless double barrel shotguns
My 3 favorite Giant Robots from Fallout are
1 Liberty Prime
2 Storm Goliath’s
3 X-42 Giant Robo-Scorpion
It’s so cool hearing about West Virginia from a video game/movie. I was born and raised in West Virginia my whole life. I moved away from there about 5 years ago. Still very cool they used West Virginia as a location for 76
I was just watching and realized I was here when it was 13 minutes old (in release terms) great video, one of the more comprehensible robot guides.
Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you checking out the video.
Goddamn fallout 76 kinda goes hard. Those tunneling machines are horrifying.
I would Smash those machines
I refused to play 76 for so long until this year, I started looking into their creatures & cryptids and had to play for myself. It’s actually pretty good now.
Was hoping for some more lore about Motherlode. There’s some weird self-aware AI stuff going on there (with the whole “remembers” thing, ect. )
Obviously video games have an issue with properly rendering scale, whether it be population or the true size of land or objects. But I always find it funny how small the tanks in fallout are, especially the ‘chimera’ considering that it’s really not big at all compared to modern tanks.
I love how the war in Fallout was started was because of resources, but then we got stuff like this XD
Would John Henry Eden count?
I mean he is pretty big, I guess the computer has some moving parts.
That's a very good question. I guess I would normally think of him as a ZAX AI Computer as opposed to a robot. Very topical you mention him as I have an AI video coming up next. And the lines between what is and isn't considered an AI is even thinner I think. So some robots will definitely be appearing in that one too...
@@UraniumFever76
Ai is an awesome topic, and I assume that especially in our reality it'll be a world changing technology, or even a group of entities, it would be interesting to use Fallout as a parallel.
@@TheChesher i still think its a bit unrealistic to compare irl AI to fictional AI, all we have is just decent algorithms that can use a Lot of sources very efficiently, which is not really at all comparable to synthetic consciousness, i guess both have advanced algorithms but even then obviously fictional AI have much better algorithms and ways to predict how to combine the data realistically
The weapons to surpass Metal Gear! 😅
Liberty prime VS MG Excelsus
As someone who recently got into gundam i can genuinely say woah cool robot!
nice job getting the tactics robots lol
Do you think Tactics is canon now lol? I would love to see the Calculator's robots appear again tbh.
@@UraniumFever76Its canon because the cape is in the files with the black devil….
The airship in the fallout series is the Prydwen, this is because canonically the Prydwen is the only airship to be rebuilt by the Brotherhood of Steel.
I agree with you, I know some people still maintain it was a production error or it was rebuilt. I’m pretty sure it is though.
4:44 - lmao Liberty Prime has a monoeye, that's hilarious
A Motherlode weighing 12 tonnes is like nothing, I would expect the head alone to weight more than that.
I've been loading 16 tons since the day I was born.
the dead scribe when prime activates lol
I have no idea how it happened 🤣🤣
Fallout has some really awesome robots
The motherlode reminds me of those tunnel creatures from New Vegas they could show up in a future quest line due to one of those machines tunneling into their territory
Well that'd be a huge hike from the Appalachia to the West Coast. >->
@user-fn8jo2mo2d I mean if those monsters are just underground if a motherlode goes deep enough it could stir them up
Thanks for this, I love these videos.
Thank you! Appreciate you giving this one a watch.
Amazing video loved it and just imagian the NCR having liberty prime istead of the brotherhood of steal would be dope and fun
That’s the rub really isn’t it! Whoever works on him and gets him up and running, their enemies become the commies!
As much as I love Liberty Prime, I now want a Behemoth war mount
I really like the Calculators robots. Would be cool to see them again.
I think the chimera was real, we also don't see mentions of frank Horrigan anywhere other than in fallout 2.
I wish someone would make a full video of the storm Goliaths voice lines
Did you make the thumbnail look like the robots from COD zombies on purpose? Either way it is cool, I did not know of the Storm Goliaths.
I didn’t no, glad you liked it though! Yeah storm Goliath’s have just been added.
Cant wait to watch this cant now or else wife gonna turn into a assaultron if i dont go asleep😂😂
Haha hope you didn’t get in trouble! Appreciate you checking out the video mate.
I still say the need to have Liberty Prime and the God Warrior from Nausicaa in an SRW together...
In Liberty prime we trust.
Always!
Hope fasnacht finds you well, and remember keep fighting the good fight.
Or thrust😏
Man still hoping for some Big Mt or just New Vegas content coming to Fallout 76 like a bunch of lobotomites showing up in appalacia looking for samples sent by the think tank before Mobius locked them in along with a bunch of mutants escaping some potentially becoming new cryptids in the area
Oh no.
That'd mean...
The cazadors return ;-;
Somehow...the cazadors migrated to the east coast.
@coryfice1881 they could always be transported by someone there
@@zacharyweaver276 I think it's a "Somehow, the Palpatine has returned" joke. Just with cazadors.
The motherlothe is a baddie
Smash
CZcams is getting bold with these ads. 1:03 and there’s already an ad
Sorry mate lol I might try and manually choose for the next video, as that's very early.
8:38 wait, a teaser for the second season of fallout? where?? i wanna check that out
On the fallout Amazon prime page there’s a series of short Vault-Tec promos about their HQ and becoming an overseer
1:36 Who do you think will win in a fight optimus or liberty
Probably Optimus honestly because of the mobility lol
@@UraniumFever76 I Am liberty prime
optimus in the corner: yeah that's cute

Thanks!
that thumbnail is some fetish fuel, i wouldn't be surprised at all if i saw that on e621 or something
ahah i remember this mod in fallout 4 to have walking landmine . a really adorable mod 🤣
Now I start thinking this game is about robots.
11:14 sounds like alt cunningam cyberpunk 2077 ?? just sounded like it
the chinese war machine could be real since the Chinese power armor was made canon and has a similar design
I love their design in the poster. I might be American, but seeing some of that Chinese equipment make me feel a bit Communist.
2:47
You mean 2255, Right?
Yeah my bad, good spot!
THERES NO LAWS AGIANST THE ROBOTS BATMAN
2:47 pretty that feat is impossible
Meant 2255
I don't know why but I just now noticed that Prime uses metric system when attacking the Institute.
So even the most patriotic robot doesn't use the Freedom Units™
Liberty Prime was the most iconic, he is so simple to understand and the propaganda he keep spewing is top notch because of the irony behind it. Just all-round a massive metal, and a huge football fans.
16:16 no one gaijin yep premium 2.3 5790 golden egeals
ROBOTS?
ROBOT
Don't neglect #smallrobotlore
does modus count
Similar to the person who mentioned Eden... personally I would separate the big computers as being their own thing. Otherwise you do have a lot of those to add to the list!
Let's be honest, the only two viable endings for cannon are the Minutemen and Brotherhood, and no one likes the minutemen. The railroad are crazy people, and the Institute are molemen.
you never mentioned freedom prime. deep in a unmarked dungeon in fallout 4. its a pretty hard dungeon with all bot types.
ROBOTQ
11:14 Is it me or does the female voice sound just like Alt's AI from Cyberpunk 2077 _🤔🤔_
I’m earlyyyyyy😫😫😫
Thanks for checking the video!
After I saw the "Storm Goliath" I realized 76 is trash. It's more like Borderlands or XenoBlade than anything Fallout.
@@greggc.touftree5936 how's so?
This is such Bethesda tier, dumb writing.
"Ooohh! Let's put big robo in!"
"Uhh, doesn't that class with the setting and previously established lore?"
"What lore? I never read it."
@@The_Big_Jay :/
Need a reminder how sentry bots originally looked? Or you just going to dismiss fallout 2 as "non cannon" in this case?
@@user-fn8jo2mo2d And that's a 10 story tall robot, how? I fail to see the comparison.
"Duuhh... it got 2 legs! That same as giant robot that shoot laser! It same thing. He no like leg bot!"
I can tell you're a Bethesda simp. Go beg them to remove more mechanics from Fallout.
@@The_Big_Jay I was referring to how ridiculous it looked. Especially the oversized shoulder joints. Although all classic fallouts have a serious case of oversized shoulders.
And just as I predicted. Instant aggression, straw maning and not understanding that the only mechanic I didn't like in classic fallouts was the fact that your companions were more likely to shoot you with an automatic weapon than an enemy.
@@user-fn8jo2mo2d "As I predicted nowhere in my comment."
Uh huh. What else am I suppose to get from your response though? Liberty Prime is a giant, one liner spewing robot called Liberty Fucking Prime, and you think I don't like any of the Fallout robots despite commenting on a video ABOUT GIANT BOTS, with my comment ONLY mentioning a GIANT BOT. You're either dumb, or maliciously misinterpreting what I said, and I will not contribute to malice what can easily be explained by ignorance. So I thought you were dumb.
And people who like the big dumb parts of Fallout, as you seem to think Liberty Prime is excusable because a bot in F2 had 2 legs, tend to dislike actual RPG elements, like the stuff Bethesda keeps removing from the game. So I, uh.. *made fun of you* and told you to beg Bethesda to remove all the fun shit from Fallout.
Having Liberty Prime make an appearance in FO4 comes off as weak writing. FO4 in general, even the DLC, feels rushed when it certainly wasn't given the development time. Nuka Cola is a cool concept but it doesn't feel fully fleshed out. Far Harbour feels like they tried to fit in every idea and came up short in every regard. The other DLC's should have been day 1 content. The writing is lazy when it shouldn't have been given the cash was spent on professional writers. I mean who didn't leave the fault thinking "I bet my kids old now."? As much as I enjoy what FO4 is, I can't live it. It's Professional Grade, AAA Studio Produced, Todd Howard's Personal Signature of commercial grade sloppy half a$$ing it while knowing the fan base will buy it.
Bethesda and Todd Howard make money grab garbage that is over hyped, under produced, hanky, bug infested, cash grabs. Todd Howard is Peter Molyneux except Fable is a classic while Howard didn't even make the best FO game while owning the license...cough...Obsidian...cough....
The Storm Goliaths totally break lore and I hate them.
Edit: No. I will not recite the lore of Fallout for you. If you don't know the lore, I suggest learning it before arguing online with strangers about their opinions.
Edit 2: it's clear none of you actually know the lore, and are just here to argue. I won't argue, so... all you can do is insult me.
Edit 3: I see the content creator decided to show support. Consider this my last comment on your content Uranium Fever. I noticed when you removed other content I corrected you on. Real classy. I'll unsubscribing now... and I won't be recommending your channel anymore.
Womp womp
I would like you to explain how, mindless hatred is a hell of a drug.
How, exactly? We know from the other games that there were pre-war projects on making giant robots. This is just another version of that, and one that actually has a creative solution to the power issues
@@tinaherr3856 It's clear you love these robots, and I really don't see the point of arguing when I hate them, and you love them. We'll never agree... right? So what's the point of drawing that out online? I've got better things to do.
@@super_terram I’m asking you to explain how, I’m calling you ignorant for your take and you claim that this is following the “mainstream” when pulling the card you’ve pulled is mainstream.
Also the “ask yourself…” part was stupid, the reason why is that you ask “is everyone who disagree with you hateful”, I’m asking a question about why you believe such a way, I haven’t even stated my opinion yet, you suck at this. ):
everything about fallout 76s newest event screams wannabe big mountain DLC and is probably some of the laziest writing in the series.
Probably one of the laziest comments I’ve ever read too, “screams wannabe big mountain DLC” and fallout 2 screams wannabe fallout 1, it’s the same universe you goober. Oh and also Calvert AND the think tank are involved, that’s like getting pissy at vault 22 for being related to OWB, this is a bad comment and you have a mindless hatred for 76.
It’s not wannabe big mountain, big mountain is literally involved, big mountain was also involved with honest hearts, stop being unnecessarily moronic.
I mean, there is a noticeable lack of giant robots with brains, as well as red storms, in Old World Blues. So I don't see how it is a "wannabe".
If it is the fact that you encounter a giant robot, then by that logic the X-42 Giant Roboscorpion is a wannabe for Liberty Prime
So does New Vegas, really, they literally just copy & paste the old work instead of making a new one
